There's been no horsing around in converting these stables into this studio retreat – excuse the pun. You can't have a country bolthole without a log burner to snuggle up in front of, right? Luckily there's one here, and the first basket of logs is provided to get the fire going. There's no escaping from the fact that this cottage is traditionally decorated, but it adds to the charm. The absolute highlight for us, though, is the garden with its wonderful views over wildflower meadows to Orlestone Forest (famous for its nightingales). When you're ready to explore, head to the nearby village of Hamstreet, with its shops, eateries and pub, a short drive away (it's walkable too).

This home is in the landscaped grounds of the owner's medieval farmhouse. You'll have your own private entrance here.
As well as a private garden, you'll have the use of a summer house overlooking the pond.
This home is not suitable for guests with mobility issues, the shower has a step, and unfortunately, this home is also not suitable for children.
No pets are allowed. However, if your dogs have stayed before, please contact the host to discuss. The owners do have working dogs who are very friendly.
