Perfect for families, this Seil Island home places you right by Balvicar Bay, providing picturesque views enjoyed from the dining table or garden. While the open staircase and proximity to the water may make you wary of bringing young children, the cot is ideal for young couples with a baby. You can even bring along the family dog to share the countryside fun. There's a local shop and the pay-as-you-play Balvicar Golf Course within walking distance, but everything else will require a car here – two local pubs serving up locally-sourced seafood are three miles away, and the supermarket in Oban is thirty minutes.

Home truths

The garden leads to the water here and the home has an open staircase. If you bring little ones, they'll need to be supervised at all times. There is a cot in the twin bedroom. Your host can also provide an additional travel cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance and bring your own bedding.

One well-behaved dog is welcome to accompany you during your stay, but they must remain off the furniture and downstairs, and be dried before entering the home.

We recommend hiring a car here.

It is recommended that you use shoes if you are going into the water, as the beach is slate and mud.

The BBQ is available by request between September and April.

About Argyll and Bute

Some of Scotland’s wildest outposts can be found in the beguiling land of Argyll and Bute. On the mainland, the historic town of Inverary is home to an ancient castle and jail and the wild countryside sees stone-grey crumbling castles perched on lochsides,...
