Relax in Style: Where to Find Cabins with Hot Tubs
Time to sit back (in the hot tub), relax (with a glass of champagne) and rest those weary feet. You're on holiday after all
~
Showers and baths are pretty darn great. But imagine being able get all the hot water and niceness you’ve become accustomed to in a bathroom; but outside (or inside, we suppose, depending on the hot tub). It’s a novelty and a thrill, and it adds to the romance and enchantment of your holiday. And it’s even better as a cure for aching muscles after a long hard day of hiking around and walking. With that in mind, we put our expert Plum Guide minds together, did extensive research to find the answers for you, and came up with the ultimate list of cabins with hot tubs in the UK. Here, you’ll find some of our top tips for destinations where you can explore everything from historic town centres to bucolic coastal trails by day, before resting your tired joints in one of our luxurious cabins with hot tubs as dusk falls.
Chill out in a Cornwall home
The Eden Project, Cornwall, United Kingdom
Head to the southwestern corner of England for Cornwall, a land known for its seemingly endless greenery, quaint fishing harbours…and accents resembling pirates from Hollywood movies. Well, more Pirates of the Caribbean than Captain Phillips. In any case, you can drop in with your family at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum to learn all about it. Shiver me timbers. Speaking of timbers (subtle segue), you’ll want to visit the Eden Project for its huge biodomes that seem to contain the entire Amazon Rainforest (but obviously don’t actually). Walk along the Cornish Coastal Path until you’re on the verge of collapse, before heading back to your cabin to bathe your weary feet in the hot tub.
Relax under the stars in Devon
This is a great place to find cabins with hot tubs. Hike up and down the vast undulating mounds that make up the Devon countryside, before ambling through the Dartmoor National Park with your family. Explore the Valley of Rock to…see a valley…of rock…and improve your understanding of the regional topography and ecosystems. Hop aboard the iconic Dartmouth Steam Railway and huff and puff through the southwestern part of England, as though you were in the 1800s. Among the highlights in the area are the Exeter Cathedral, the Crealy Theme Park & Resort and the Greenway House. This is a great destination for the whole family, with plenty of great areas in Devon for kids. Stay at one of our cabins and gaze up at the starry sky from your hot tub.
Take a family trip to the Cotswolds
The Cotswolds, England, UK
The Cotswolds is where parts of Harry Potter and Bridget Jones’s Diary were filmed. It doesn’t get much more quintessentially British than that, as films go. Bring the family to the Broadway Tower, the Cotswold Water Park or the Birdland Park & Gardens, before delving into the Batsford Arboretum. On your last legs, before sunset, dip in and out of the crumbling arches of the Hailes Abbey ruins. You’ve earned a nice rest in the hot tub this evening, have you not?
Enjoy a peaceful holiday in Edinburgh
Granted, Scotland might not be top of anyone's list when thinking of hot tub holidays, but you'll find plenty of options dotted across the city. And don't underestimate the Scottish climate either, as its been known to have its fair share of warm summers in the past. Head to Edinburgh in August, where you’ll get the Fringe Festival with all sorts of comedy acts and live performances to enjoy...if you can bear to leave the luxury of your hot tub, that is.
