The Role
We’re looking for a Lead for our Matchmaking team - the outbound sales team who help guests and travel agents find and book the perfect Plum home for their trip.
This team is Plum’s front line, delivering the unique booking service that sets us apart from other platforms. Their focus is the three S’s - Speed, Service, and Solutions. They interact directly with guests and travel agents to qualify their needs and find the perfect solution for their trip. They also work closely with our community of hosts to present suitable options to guests.
This person will lead our team of 9 and be an individual contributor (for now), with the opportunity to progress into full time management as the team grows. They’ll own the relationship with our top travel agent partners and be responsible for growing that book of business.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the team are hitting their targets while delivering an exceptional level of customer experience
Own the monthly team sales, revenue and conversion targets
Hire and train team members in high quality sales skills - from the fundamentals to the more advanced skills
Manage the sales pipeline on a daily basis, which includes:
Assigning leads to team members
Monitoring lead levels and taking action to drive more leads if required
Deal reviews and daily feedback to team members on their open deals
Assisting in getting live deals across the line
Manage the day-to-day operations of the team
Run daily team standups
Create the schedule / rota and shift timings
Run individual 121s each week or fortnightly
Set the commission structure
Run performance reviews
Grow our business with the top 5 travel agent partner accounts 2-3X
Get stuck in the pipeline and own deals and a sales target yourself
Attend cross-functional company meetings representing the team and contribute to setting the company goals and strategy
Work with the Supply and Marketing teams to get more inventory in the places guests inquire about the most
Qualifications & experience:
5+ years of direct sales experience
Some experience managing a small team
A bonus if you have 2+ years experience in luxury travel sales or the entertainment industry with existing relationships in these spaces
Ambitious and high-achieving, with a proven track record of hitting monthly and quarterly KPIs
Targets-driven and solutions-oriented - always looking to improve and solve problems to achieve company goals
Comfortable with and enjoys getting stuck in at the ground level
Exceptionally high attention to detail and highly organised, able to coach others to be the same
Relentless focus on customer satisfaction and delivering a superior experience
High energy and leads by example, comfortable being on the phone, running team standups and being the face of the team within the business
A great coach - motivating, a clear communicator, and adept at giving constructive feedback
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment
