Mustard, The New Must-Have Colour

Your grandma's favourite, your mother's nightmare, your revelation.

~

Mustard is one of those colours we’ve seen come and go over the years. During its last heyday (calling all mid-century modern fans), the sunset-hued colour adorned everything from pillows to tableware – sometimes embedded in bold geometric prints, often paired with other warm and earthy tones. Now it’s back, and more powerful than ever!

Retro yet modern, wild yet subtle, it’s the perfect shade for giving your home the kind of lively, spicy touch it deserves. Our first step of action: scour your grandma’s attic, she’s bound to have some leftovers from the last time mustard was the hottest colour in town. If that doesn’t work out for you, why not start small by investing in accent items (think vases, pillows, lamps), or go big by painting your walls or finally buying that mustard dream of a statement sofa you’ve seen in the window of your favourite design shop?

Needless to say, we are head over heels for anything mustard-coloured at the moment (we also like the condiment, but that’s just a given). If you find yourself nodding along to this, you’re not going to want to miss our holiday homes flooded with shades of mustard. As always, you can stay in all of these homes – because what’s better than getting some interior design inspiration while holidaying? (You can quote us on that any time).
