The hours will roll by blissfully here – soaking up the sun on the loungers, catching up on your book, and playing pool games in the afternoon. If you get itchy feet, hop on a bicycle or get your walking boots on and explore the mountainous area. Take solace from the mid-day sun with a few card games around the outdoor sofa, and in the evenings, pop to the local supermarket (around 3 miles away) and pick up local produce to get going on the barbecue. Cala La Calalga’s the closest, but the others are worth a visit too – not to mention, you’re just a short drive from Penyal d'Ifac Natural Park, one of the most scenic hiking spots this side of the Balearic. There’s nothing noteworthy about this home’s interior, but there’s plenty of space for a large group to spread out. And although not every room benefits from air conditioning, there’s a private pool at your disposal if you need to cool down when temperatures reach their peak.

This single-level, modern villa on the Costa Blanca has all the ingredients for a great holiday. There are a good-sized private pool, nice garden and several terraces to enjoy – one of which is covered for some alfresco dining. The living room and bedrooms all have air conditioning and there is a woodburner for those chillier days. You can go sightseeing or soak up some culture in the nearby town of Moraira. For the adventure-seekers, there are activities such as snorkelling, kayaking and wind-surfing five kilometres down the road.

This spacious and well-located villa is split across two floors, creating two separate apartments – each with its own entrance. Both levels have their own bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining area, and swimming pool – one on each side of the property. We think it's an excellent option for two families or a large group of friends holidaying together in Calp. The interiors are quite basic and the decor is dated – but there's plenty of room here and the home has all of the necessary amenities you need for a comfortable self-catered stay. We recommend a car for ease – some beautiful sandy beaches are just a short drive away.

Set 3 kilometres inland, this sea-facing villa is the perfect pick for two couples planning a beach holiday on the Costa Blanca. It's not suited to little ones, yet this home offers a bright and minimalist interior for post-adventure siestas. While we think you'll gather for poolside sunbathing and alfresco dining, there's plenty of room to split off for sunset tipples on the balcony. A car is recommended to go 3.5 kilometres to central Calpe, but on-site parking makes exploration easy.

It's plain to see that somebody with a real eye for design has worked their magic on this townhouse found in the coastal town of Calp. Everywhere you look inside, there are tasteful touches, from the dining table made from a repurposed door and the unashamedly bright colours on the walls to the sheer range of objets d'art dotted about the home.

We're also happy to say that there's plenty of substance behind this style. The sleek black kitchen not only looks the part, but it's also well-equipped for whipping up a feast. We're also fond of the terrace, which has views out over the rooftops and verdant hillsides beyond.

When you're ready to get to know the locale a little better, you'll be surprised at how much there is to see. All of three minutes' walk from the home is Torreó de la Peça, the centuries-old defensive walls built to protect the town from marauders. Arena-Bol beach is a ten-minute walk, while further along the coastline, it's possible to head up to the top of Penyal d'Ifac in just over an hour on foot for some incredible views.

This holiday villa has its own heated pool and great views of the sea from its balcony. Spread over two floors, it might not be the best choice for less mobile guests. With bikes available for free and a range of children's equipment available to rent, we think this home is great for families with young children. Within a twenty-minute walk, you'll reach the nearest beaches and central Moraira, known for its historic castle and great restaurants.

With a separate interior apartment alongside the main house and countless private verandas leading off the bedrooms, it’s an excellent option for an extended family looking to holiday together without crowding each other. The eight private parking spaces keep things easy when it’s time to explore – starting at the coveted beaches of Benissa, just a five-kilometre drive away. Kids will thank you for that outdoor cinema room to crash out in the evening. And you’ll all love the ambient tropical garden terraces to toast the day’s end.

You’ll need a car to reach the beach and explore the local area, but you’ll also have fabulous sea views to take advantage of back home. There are some steep stairs to climb inside, though – it may not suit guests with reduced mobility.

The home is located just a short drive from Benissa, where you can find vibrant bars, great shops and lovely restaurants. It’s also just 7km from Moraira, famous for its beautiful coves and caves.

You can start each day with a coffee in your outdoor sitting area, while you listen to the dawn chorus around you. Watch the sunrise over the leafy greenery that surrounds the home. As the heat turns up, enjoy a refreshing dip in your pool, or find a shady spot where you can relax with a good book. The outdoor barbecue and kitchen are where you'll likely want to be at meal times.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

If you’re looking to explore the coastline – you’re just 4km from the sandy Cala Baladrar and Moraira beaches. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area, including canoeing, kayaking, and waterskiing – ideal for the adventurous types.

Situated within walking distance of Calpe town centre and its sandy beach, shops and restaurant, this convenient villa invites guests to soak up the Alicante sunshine in a laid-back fuss-free setting. Here, you'll have your own private swimming pool and a lawned garden space featuring an alfresco dining area, barbecue, plenty of loungers, and outdoor seating. While the decor may be slightly dated, the modern furnishings ensure a comfortable stay with a touch of authentic Valencian charm. With the Peñon de Ifach rock visible from the balcony, you'll also get to gaze out over Calpe's skyline and the blue of the sea in the distance from here.

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

This holiday haven is located on the gorgeous Costa Blanca, just a short drive from the stunning Cala El Raco beach, and within walking distance of some lovely bars and restaurants in Calpe. Peaceful and private, this home features a lovely garden with swaying palms and sun loungers, with a large private pool where you can cool off on hot days. The views from here are exquisite – you can gaze out at rolling hills and quaint villages while you sip your morning coffee.

Cerulean & Light

Boasting gorgeous views, a private pool, and space for alfresco dining, this villa guarantees a stylish stay. It's not suitable for young children due to the lack of fencing in the some of the outdoor areas and the pool, but there are ground-floor bedrooms and bathrooms, and a double sofa bed for some extra flexibility in the sleeping arrangements. We highly recommend having a car here, but it's not far to drive into the centre of Jávea or the nearby golf course. Further away, you'll find spectacular days out in the bustling city of Alicante and its beautiful beaches.

You'll find this home in a quiet, sunny hilltop position, just 2.5km from the warm sea and sandy beach. Cosy and bright with nautical pops of turquoise and blue everywhere you look, this apartment is the ideal spot for small families or groups of friends looking for a base to explore this sun-soaked Spanish region. Not only will you get to enjoy breakfast each morning on your private terrace, but you'll also be able to take advantage of additional facilities across the resort – there's a playground for the little ones, and two kidney-shaped pools to cool off in while you enjoy the beautiful countryside view full of fertile fields, terracotta homes and farmland. Spend your days exploring the historic 18th-century castle nearby, or relaxing on the golden beaches before returning to enjoy the resort's bars, restaurants and evening entertainment options.

The naya is a great go-between the outdoors and inside – with it still being enclosed – perfect for late-night drinks. 

Enjoy the cool touch of tiles as you walk around the home barefoot, looking for somewhere to settle down with a good book. Make yourself comfortable on the cushy corner sofa for movie nights and take advantage of the dining table to unpack the board games you brought along.

Your private swimming pool sits on a fabulous terrace with far-reaching views, and enough space for everyone in your party. While the kids splash about in the pool, soak up the sun on a lounger and sip freshly squeezed juice. When the sun is at its hottest, move into the shade of the pergola or slip inside for a peaceful siesta.

You might head into Benissa for dinner or dine alfresco on the terrace at the villa. You could try your hand at paella, or fire up the barbecue and grill freshly caught seafood. There are two kitchens here so there’s no excuse not to flex those culinary muscles.

High in the hills, less than 10 minutes by car from the charming town of Calp, this traditional home peeks over the sapphire Mediterranean and rugged, rolling countryside. Carved out of local stone and supported by solid wood, the ceiling beams converge from smooth, curved walls and over the galley kitchen. Mismatched furniture adds a cosy, old-timey ambience – we’re particularly fond of the antique chandeliers. Outside, a staircase spirals down to the pool terrace with sun-soaked loungers and stunning views across Calp. When you aren’t swimming laps in the private pool, find a quiet spot on the lesser-known Playa de Port Blanc – there’s a fantastic restaurant nearby for when you get peckish. In the evening, retreat back home to your balcony to watch the sunset behind the mighty Peñón de Ifach – perfectly framed by stone arches, it’s a snapshot you’ll never forget.

Nestled in a quiet spot in Altea, this villa has a private pool, three floors and two terraces to stretch your legs on. While some of the furnishings might be a little dated, the views from the bedrooms' balconies are fantastic. Altea la Vieja is a brisk twenty-minute walk from your doorstep, known for its restaurants and golf course.
