Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands.

This spacious and well-located villa is a good option for a family or group of friends wanting to holiday in Denia, Costa Blanca. There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

Situated in a residential beach area of Denia, this villa is close to restaurants and essential shops. We recommend hiring a car here, to give you easy access to the nearest beach, golf course, and sports facilities. Spread over two floors, guests who struggle with stairs might want to look elsewhere. But the private pool, hot tub, brick barbecue and rooftop terrace make this home great for families and friend groups. The garden has a football goal, and outdoor seating gives the grown-ups somewhere close by to relax.

We were particularly taken by the Majolica pottery that lines the kitchen walls. Outside, there are umpteen options for alfresco dining, all boasting knockout views of the undulating landscape. Spend your time relaxing on the shaded daybed, watching the sun set among the lemon trees or enjoying a private moment on your bedroom’s patio.  If you fancy it, Arenal beach is less than a fifteen-minute drive away. But it won’t be long until you're back home on the terrace living the good life –  barbecue lit, glass of Priorat red in hand, watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.

This seaside haven in the heart of Javea Port is our kind of heaven. Tucked away and yet mere moments from La Grava beach, this ground floor two-bedroom home is pure boho-beach chic. Featuring a lovely, light filled open plan kitchen cum dining and living room, courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which open out onto a cosy courtyard, this artful home boasts both style and substance. Nods to the nautical meet whitewashed walls and windows shutters while brand spanking new cabinetry meets worn wooden furniture, woven basket lights and colourful framed prints. 

Undoubtedly the star of the show, however, is the interior courtyard, with its traditional Tosca stone walls and Spanish style tiled floor – the perfect relaxing retreat come morning, noon or night. You’ll love rising early to catch the sunrise before taking your morning coffee out into the courtyard. Host cook offs and gather around the dining table for sociable meal times or head out for hours of sun-baked fun at the beach before meandering along to one of the many local seaside cafes for fresh food and uninterrupted Mediterranean views.

Just 5 kilometres from the sandy Playa s'Arenal and surf school, the outdoor hangouts don't have to stop at this home. There's a sprawling garden and a private pool to enjoy in your downtime. Just a three minute walk to the nearest sandy beach of Arenal, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing somewhere for dinner, a morning coffee, or a glass of sangria as you watch the world go by. There is also a rocky beach just a stone's throw from the apartment, where you can enjoy excellent snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing. The pretty port and historic old town of Javea is just three kilometres away, and you'll find two prestigious golf courses within around a twenty minute radius.

Whether you've spent that day playing a few holes, soaking up the southern Spanish sunshine on your favourite local beach, or exploring the beguiling backstreets of Javea – unmistakably Spanish with their whitewashed houses adorned with bright swathes of bougainvillea – you can always return to the comfort and calm of this home away from home. Cook up something tasty in the kitchen (we especially love preparing a steam pan of Arroz a la Banda, Alicante’s take on typical paella), before heading out onto the balcony that overlooks the communal swimming pool, perhaps breaking out the board games to while away the evening as dusk turns into a star-speckled night.

Where Montgo Natural Park meets the marine reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni, you are truly in the heart of it all at this three-level mountain mansion here in Valencia. Panoramic views wrap around the whole villa, surrounding you with stunning scenery that stretches right from the valley down to the sea. From sofa seating on the balcony to pool loungers and cushioned benches down in the garden, there are no cheap seats here. Swap a view of the mountainside for proximity to the grand swimming pool, with plenty of spots to relax. With an outdoor shower, barbecue and multiple dining areas, you can spend your days basking in the Spanish sunshine. Local activities include golf at the local course, a surf-and-sailing school and tennis, as well as boat trips out to nearby islands. In the friendly tourist town of Dénia, enjoy the slow pace and siestas that make for the best summer holidays on the Mediterranean. Having said that, Ibiza also beckons – though you may want to limit your partying to the daylight hours, as it's a three-hour ferry trip away. Back on the mainland, hiking trails and mountain paths will satisfy those looking for a spot of adventure.

Everyone will enjoy the swimming pool, while the covered terrace and sun-kissed sitting area are perfect for dinner and drinks in the coastal breeze. Sure, the design isn't the most modern, but there's a lot of room to spread out inside – not to mention it's kitted out with everything you need for a fuss-free stay. A car is a must here, as this home is located in the hills above the town. Still, it's just a short drive to Jávea's beaches, restaurants, and buzzing centre.

It's ideally set in a cute complex featuring a shared outdoor pool and a communal kids' playground that you'll enjoy access to during your stay. Although the home is quite basic, it's cool and contemporary, with some boho touches that give it a calming feel. You also have a beautiful terrace here with lounge seating and a dining table, where you can sit and enjoy the lush and leafy setting – the ideal spot for drinks at sunset.

A ten-minute drive from the centre of Javea, this charming villa offers sun, relaxation and access to Spain’s beautiful Costa Blanca. Golf courses, horseriding and hiking in the hills are all on offer from your doorstep. While the furnishings aren’t the most modern – plastic chairs outside and a fairly sparse living area inside – the peaceful location is what drew us to this villa. Plus, the swimming pool is vast, there’s a charm to the living room with its traditional fireplace and the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering.

Here, you'll find a stunning private pool, as well as a hot tub for resting weary muscles after long hikes in the hills. It will most likely continue with a few leisurely laps of the pool before picking out a lounger to while away the hours. When lunchtime arrives, fire up the barbecue and tuck into a group feast on the terrace. You're well catered for when it comes to alfresco areas – including several day beds and covered seating space for the entire party to sprawl out and unwind. 

Inside, you'll find a comfortable living room where wood beams and tiled flooring shape the space as a whole, while homespun furnishings and a Scandinavian wood stove keep things cosy. Spend your days dining on lush local cuisine in the amply-equipped kitchen, soaking up hot Spanish rays on sunbaked terraces, and cooling off before dinner in the villa's private pools. When looking for a little time to yourself with your favourite book, the opportunities for cosy nooks know no end. This is a home to be enjoyed by all the family and provides the perfect backdrop to a truly unforgettable getaway.

Not far from the golden sand beaches and secret coves of Costa Blanca, this home is a slice of serenity on the Spanish coast. Thick wooden oak beams, white arched walls, and pastoral paintings give the space a traditional feel. There are some quirky stylings too: the candy pink bathroom with its jet tub feels very 50s, as do the cream sofas in the large living space. There's oodles of space for groups, though we suspect most of your time will be spent outside. Nab your spot on a sun lounger by the long pool or wander through the verdant gardens to find a stone pergola – perfect for siestas. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance, but with such a peaceful location, we prefer to stock up on local goodies and feast while seated on the wrought-iron furniture back at the home.

With sea and mountain views, a big private pool and close proximity to sandy beaches, this home will get you in that holiday spirit the moment you arrive. Stretch out on the sun loungers lining the pool, enjoying the seclusion afforded by the surrounding palm trees and greenery, and take a sip from your ice-cold drink. When you want to unwind inside, you'll find a warm and welcoming lounge, with wooden beams, cool stone floors, big, bright windows and a rustic brick fireplace. When you're feeling restless, head into the coastal town of Xàbia for shops, eateries, bars and nightlife. We recommend checking out the fish auction and covered market every afternoon in the lively port for a dose of local culture and delicacies. When you're not exploring the town, spend evenings by the TV with tapas and a round of your favourite cocktails. 

Spanish Sonata

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

There is something truly magical about this corner of Spain – maybe it’s the white, sandy beaches, the stunning views, or the vibrant culture. Staying at this gorgeous villa, nestled amidst lush greenery and overlooking the breathtaking sea vistas will allow you to experience all of the above.

There is a pool house here, too, so you can get yourself prepared for an afternoon of lounging about, catching up on your holiday reads and working on your tan. If you prefer to simply relax and enjoy the beach, head out to the gorgeous El Arenal, a mere six minutes away by car.

We love the traditional Spanish style of the villa, with its wooden beams, terracotta-tiled roofs, and rustic stonework. 

Montgo Mountain View

Sitting just 650 metres from the beach and 3 kilometres from the centre of Dénia, this practical apartment offers a fuss-free getaway with plenty of opportunities to soak up the Spanish sun. With two separate terraces offering outdoor seating and alfresco dining options, you can work on your tan with ease. Alternatively, you can head down to the communal pool for a refreshing dip, or make a beeline for the nearby sands. While the home’s interiors are a little generic for our liking and there are some steep internal stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom, this pad’s locale more than makes up for any shortcomings. 


The Royal Span

Nestled at the base of Parc Natural del Montgó, this Costa Blanca hideaway has relaxation written all over it. Although we're not huge fans of the interior design, we do love the garden and its Massís del Montgó scenery. Private pool, rooftop terrace, bubbling hot tub (which requires a weekly fee to use) – chances are, you'll spend most of your getaway alfresco, soaking up the Spanish sun. Keen to explore? Not a problem, since Dénia, Platja de l'Arenal and Javea are all within driving distance. 

Golden Dreamer

Situated in the Montgó district, at the foot of the Montgó Natural Park and just 3 kilometres from the centre of desirable Dénia and the beach – this home has a great address. There are sea vistas from the balcony and terrace and a private swimming pool to cool off from the Costa Blanca heat. Inside, yes, the kitchen is a little dated for some tastes, but we're sure you'll soon forget about that when you see the Mediterranean Sea views. One thing to note with this home, though, is the third bedroom on the upper floor is accessed via an external spiral staircase. That said, it may appeal to members of the group who want a bit more privacy.

The White Star

Sure, this apartment in the heart of Javea might be a little simple when it comes to interior design, but people don't come to this corner of Spain to be wowed by home decor – not when there's a wealth of exemplary beaches, hiking routes and seafront restaurants that lie within easy walking distance to explore. That's not to say you'll dread returning home, however. For instance, the balcony – while small – has a rather charming view of the town's port and the Mediterranean Sea stretching into the distance.

A Spanish Retreat

With its renaissance-style columns and Roman design swimming pool, this home has a very Mediterranean flavour. Lounge on the terrace and admire breathtaking mountain and sea views or cook up a feast in the outdoor kitchen. Inside, whitewashed walls and beach tones create a chilled-out vibe. Designated a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO, desirable Dénia will definitely lure you out of this picturesque spot, with its superb restaurants and charming marina just a fifteen-minute drive away. Nature lovers can explore Mount Montgó Natural Park with a scenic hike, or go snorkelling and discover the underwater beauty around the marine reserve of Cap de Sant Antoni.

This villa in southern Spain is set up for big group get-togethers or family gatherings. It’s packed with ways to stay entertained, both indoors and outdoors. Let’s start with the outdoors. A Roman-style swimming pool invites you for a dip to cool off from the heat, and a porticoed veranda runs the length of the villa, providing shaded lounges and outdoor dining for the group. When the magenta bougainvillaea is in bloom, the facade of this villa is simply stunning. You’ve got another terrace up on the first floor, filled with boho furnishings facing the sea view. To top it all off, a rooftop terrace catches the sun during the day.

Stepping inside, the fun continues with a dedicated cinema room – perfect for families – and a wine cellar to store the Riojas. The cosy main living room embraces the feel of an old Spanish farmhouse, with comfy sofas sitting beneath dark wood beams and an old brick fireplace in the corner. This opens up to the dining room, and double doors lead straight onto the terrace too. For those that need to work remotely, there’s an office room with a desk where arched windows look out over the sea. Speaking of which, bedrooms across the villa come in all shapes and sizes, and some have a spectacular sea view from big windows.

Location-wise, there are a handful of local restaurants within easy walking distance. The coast here is dotted with secluded bays and dramatic coves, which can be explored by car or perhaps even by boat.  

Sapphire View

Enjoy a stellar stay at this contemporary apartment, based just a few hundred metres from Arenal beach, and close to plenty of vibrant bars and restaurants that make this area so sought-after. This home offers calming neutral interiors, with arty touches that make it feel super stylish, and modern amenities to make your stay as easy as can be. Based on a fantastic gated complex, staying here means you’ll have access to the lovely outdoor shared pool, as well as some idyllic gardens that are very inviting for an afternoon stroll.

We recommend you start sunny days here by enjoying a coffee on your private balcony while you gaze out at the lush greenery surrounding you, and the mountains in the distance. Cook up some huevos rotos and dine alfresco on your balcony dining set as you watch the sun come up. When the midday heat arrives, head down to the shared pool for a refreshing dip. After a few hours of downtime, make your way into town where you’ll find a whole host of restaurants, bars and pavement cafes waiting to welcome you in and spoil you with some local cuisine. With a happy tummy full of paella, you can head back home, climb under your crisp white sheets and fall into a blissful slumber.
