The streets of Barcelona’s atmospheric Gothic Quarter are on your doorstep at this stylish city bolthole. Once you’ve had your fill of ancient cathedrals, secret squares and late-night tapas joints, perhaps hit the beach at Barceloneta, a leisurely walk away. It’s a studio-style apartment, but a room divider provides a little privacy between the bedroom area and dine-in living room. Plus, sliding doors can shut off the compact kitchen so fridge noise won’t keep you up at night. The bonus is the balcony which is petit but furnished with a bistro set.

El Albergue

A seven-minute walk from the lush and tranquil gardens of the Parc de la Ciutadella, the vibrant area of El Born is teeming with boutiques, cafés, restaurants, and charm. After wandering through the maze of paved streets, you'll find the original, dark wooden door of your Barcelona home. Your hosts at this historical building are ready to provide a first-class service. Whether you need taxis booked, tickets for city attractions, maps, or restaurant recommendations, you’ll get VIP treatment from the offset. Inside the flat, exposed brickwork and original wooden beams bring a rustic vibe to the space. However, minimalist and modern furnishings contrast this perfectly. We love the marble-clad bathroom, bringing yet more class and luxury to your surroundings. And with your own private balcony as well as a communal roof terrace atop the building, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a sunny spot to sip your espresso in the morning. For the afternoon, head out to Barceloneta beach (just fifteen minutes away) to dip your toes into the Mediterranean Sea. There’s a metro stop of the same name only five minutes from home, so wherever you end up, you’ll have no trouble getting back to base.

Glowing Cinder

We love how well positioned this apartment is. Nestled in the low-key and central El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot neighbourhood, just a seven-minute walk to Gaudí’s La Sagrada Familia, this is an unbeatable place to call home. This laid-back apartment is a welcome oasis from the city’s vibrancy.

What we love most about this home is its minimalist charm. The calm interior feels immediately rejuvenating - pull back the curtains and let the light flood your open-plan space whilst enjoying your morning coffee. Make breakfast for the family feel extra special with pan con tomate - you can pick up some of the city’s finest bread from Fermento Casa De Panaderos, just six minutes away. The small narrow streets - called passatges in Catalan - will lead you to the city’s vibrant Parc Güell where you’ll discover Gaudí’s architectural delights. Consider the matinee at the Catalan Modernist-style concert hall, Palau de la Música Catalana, then refuel with today’s special and an authentic aperitivo at the bustling El Xampanyet. Hop on the metro home- your apartment is nine minutes from there - where your cosy, warm-lit bedroom awaits.

El Camp Retreat

Fifteen minutes north of Barceloneta beach, shake off the sand and make yourself at home in the El Born district. This vibrant region of the city has enough winding streets of cafés, bars, restaurants, and boutiques to keep you busy for days. But in such a bustling area, you’ll need a flat to relax in. The design of this home combines old-world Catalan architecture with modern furniture. We love the exposed brick and rock walls, plus vaulted ceilings showing original wooden beams. The modernity comes with understated decor such as large, grey linen sofas paired with gold and marble-topped tables. Your bedroom is innovatively situated on a corner, meaning you’ve got light coming in from various angles through those huge windows. With its own little balcony to perch on, this is the perfect place to wake up in and enjoy your espresso. Another option is heading up to the communal roof terrace (but get up early for the sun loungers). Before tourists start streaming down into the Gothic Quarter, take a morning walk through its quaint, cobbled streets and you’ll end up at the Mercat de la Boqueria in just over fifteen minutes. For the afternoon, wander the vast green spaces of the Parc de la Ciutadella just over five minutes away. And the cocktail bars of El Born will be waiting for you in the evening.

With playful patterns and carefully curated artwork, this home is full of fun. Eco-design is more than a catchphrase here. Your hosts have used simple design principles and natural materials to create a warm and earthy look while remaining faithful to opulent Catalan Modernism. 

Your hosts have committed to using recycled luxury materials. However, when that's not been possible, they've made sure only to use recyclable ones, making this city-centre apartment a fantastic choice for the eco-conscious traveller.

Located on the border of Barcelona's El Born and Eixample districts, you couldn't be better placed to explore the Catalan capital. The majestic Arc de Triomf is just a four-minute walk away, while the 15th-century cathedral is no more than ten minutes away on foot. So after pounding the pavement, why not head to the iconic Barceloneta beach, where you can soak up some sun and frolic in the surf.

Reclaimed Utopia

Staying in Mar Diagonal is not the obvious choice for everyone, but if you want a more relaxed, beachy atmosphere, it’s hard to beat this apartment. The building is impressive enough in itself, and the fact that every room has a sea view is not to be sniffed at. While the design of the place is simple, even bordering on sparse, the way that the windows frame that view mitigates what could otherwise be seen as a slight lack of inspiration. Getting into the city is easy enough on the metro, but it’s about an hour on foot to Plaça de Catalunya.


Mar Terra

Spread across two floors, this luxurious duplex apartment is the perfect spot for a group of friends or family looking to explore Barcelona with their own comfortable space to retreat to at the end of the day. This spot is made for the type of traveller who prefers the quieter city streets and proximity to the beach over the buzz of Barcelona's epicentre by Eixample. Watch the sunset over the city before heading out for the evening to discover one of the many delicious local Catalan restaurants within walking distance. Since the beach is just a twenty-minute stroll away, you'll most likely want to spend much of your time down by the sea, but with convenient transportation links – you can get just about anywhere in the city from here in under forty-five minutes. 

The Nouvel

With direct sea views, garden, pool and kids' play area/pool, as well as easy access to transportation to the rest of this beautiful city, this home really has everything to offer for a relaxed and fun-filled city break. All guests need to do is kick off their shoes and listen to the gentle and melodic crash of waves in the background as they enjoy their morning coffee out on the balcony, watching as seagulls fly overhead. Children will have the time of their lives playing in the pool and play area, and when it's time to head on out to explore, guests will be spoilt for choice as the nearby Metro station connects the area to the rest of the city, making sightseeing easier than ever. 

Spend your days relaxing and soaking up those delicious Spanish rays at the neighbouring beach, which can be reached in as little as a ten-minute stroll, while the stunningly unique architecture that Barcelona is so famous for can be seen in the same amount of time. For those looking to spend the day shopping, dining and wine tasting, your neighbourhood of Diagonal Mar, as well as the cultural melting pot of La Rambla are the perfect spots, and if you're looking to venture out further afield for something truly spectacular, we highly recommend The Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor, which can be reached in a thirty-minute drive, or forty minutes by public transport.

Fractal

Set in vibrant El Fort Pienc, fringing the neighbourhoods of El Born, Eixample, and Sagrada, you’ve got all of the city’s hotspots at your feet from this smart apartment. It’s worth noting that the second bedroom feels snug compared to that whopper of a king-sized main room. Though the separate shower rooms for each bedroom are a bonus if you need to speed mornings along. While the floor-to-ceiling Juliet balcony doors are impressive, there’s no outside space to sit out here. But with Barcelona’s leafy Parc de la Ciutadella just a stroll away, we don’t think you’ll mind.

Ciutadella Retreat

This rustic yet modern apartment is located right in the heart of Barcelona, putting the very best of the city within strolling distance. Exposed brick, timber beams and Scandi-style furnishings come together nicely to create a stylish environment that’s both inviting and practical. While the well-appointed kitchen and comfortable beds feel just like home, the communal roof terrace and attentive reception staff are facilities you’re more likely to find in a trendy hotel. Get to know your El Born neighbourhood with a mosey through its historic streets. Find a tucked-away bistro for tapas and wine after checking out the Chocolate Museum, Picasso Museum and the El Born Culture and Memorial Centre, each no more than five minutes from your building. And when you’ve had your fill of the city, don your sun hat and escape to Barceloneta Beach, located only a fifteen-minute walk away.

Cinder Reach

With authentic Spanish interiors and a prime location in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, this apartment is ideal for those looking to be within walking distance of the city's most celebrated sights. You're a short stroll from Barcelona Cathedral, Plaza Catalunya and the Parc de la Ciutadella with plenty of excellent shopping and dining options right on your doorstep. Inside, traditional Catalan touches combine with a contemporary design to add real warmth to the pad – that said, the bedrooms do vary in size and there's limited storage space. 

Casa de Vida

Looking to the African desert for design inspiration, this Eixample apartment is dominated by earthy tones, natural materials and a few houseplants to add a burst of bright colour. Other aspects are a little more contemporary – you only have to look at the minimalist white kitchen to see what we mean.

Even though it sits among one of Barcelona's most bustling districts, there's something innately relaxing about the space, whether you're listening to a vinyl record with a breeze blowing in over the Juliet balcony or enjoying a meal cooked with locally bought ingredients on the round dining table.

And when it comes to sightseeing, you don't have far to venture from your front door. The mighty Sagrada Familia is less than a quarter of an hour's walk, as is Parc de la Ciutadella in the opposite direction. You're especially well served by cafes and restaurants in the surrounding streets, too.
