This wonderful home is located between the districts of the Gothic Quarter and Raval. It's right on the iconic Las Ramblas with its street performers, cafes, restaurants, markets and shops, and it's close to some more of Barcelona's most famous streets. Pedestrianised Calle Ferrán, which leads to the Barcelona City Hall and Plaça Reial, one of the city's most beautiful squares, are both nearby.

Back at this recently renovated apartment, we loved the characterful living space with its exposed brick walls, which are more than 200 years old and its high ceilings with wooden beams. The cute balcony is perfect for enjoying a glass of Cava while watching the comings and goings on Las Ramblas. This place is ideal for atwo couples or business professionals.

Live like a local in this smart Barcelona apartment, located in the vibrant Eixample district. You'll love getting comfortable in the bright living room, perhaps opening a bottle of Spanish red wine, and planning your stay in the city. When you get hungry, you can whip up your favourite meal in the kitchen, before gathering around the chic glass table to enjoy your culinary creations – there are even a few flamingoes on the wall for company. However, we think the best part of this contemporary home has to be the balcony, a fantastic spot for people-watching and chilling out at all times of day. The surrounding area is famous for its modernist architecture, and you'll love wandering through the streets, dipping into local boutiques and cafés as you go. The breathtaking Parc Joan Miró is just a ten-minute walk away, where you'll find plenty of open space, while the Plaça d'Espanya is just a little further. And, with the nearest metro station just one block away, it's very straightforward to get around the city from here, should you want to travel further afield.

Found in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, this home couldn’t get much closer to the breathtaking Barcelona Cathedral if it tried. Easily admired even from the living space, we recommend stepping out onto the terrace whenever you want to swoon over the views of the thirteenth century Gothic construction. Lucky for you, the outdoor area is made for lounging – grab a seat as you watch the sunrise first thing in the morning, have meals alfresco, read under the Spanish sun, or sunbathe on the turf. 

Light and neutral inside, the home makes clever use of the space with efficient furniture choices like the sofa cum dining bench. The perfect space for relaxation after a day exploring the city at your doorstep or getting work done from the workspace in the lounge or bedroom. Put your feet up and unwind with a glass of wine before heading out for a bite to eat at one of the Catalan restaurants. 

Wander the narrow, mediaeval streets admiring the architecture as you make your way to La Rambla – around eight minutes away – to pick up street food. It's not just the outside space that’s worth writing home about, though. Inside, traditional architecture combines with postmodern design to create stylish living spaces that you’ll be more than happy to linger in. We can’t quite put our finger on what makes this place so special, but it probably has something to do with its stylish interior, which was inspired by the works of Ricardo Bofill Leví, one of Catalonia’s most celebrated architects. 

Spend all day unwinding in the open-plan living area or head downstairs for a quick workout in the communal gym before setting off to see what the city has to offer. From Barceloneta Beach to Plaça Reial, all the major attractions are within touching distance here, and we wouldn’t blame you for wanting to make the most of it. Soak up the gorgeous architecture of Barcelona Cathedral, head to Port Vell for a seafood feast with your fellow guests, or get a cab to Eixample where you’ll find plenty of places to dance the night away.

Cosy and practically furnished, this apartment is a great base for couples or solo travellers. While there’s not much space in the living area, especially when the sofa bed’s in use, it’s comfortable enough for lounging between activities in your itinerary. It's worth noting that there are thirteen stairs to climb to reach the en-suite bedroom and while towels are provided, you’ll need to bring your own toiletries. Poble Sec metro station is on your doorstep and if you fancy stretching your legs, the Gothic Quarter is a few blocks away.

The terrace has great views over the city, as does the Juliet balcony in the living room. The kitchen is a bit on the compact side, and there isn’t much food preparation space, but there is an oven and hob, so you can still prepare your favourite tapas.

Even if we didn't know this home's location, we'd be inclined to say that 'it's so El Born'. Unique art and furniture capture the neighbourhood's character, so you won't notice much difference between the chic interior and the many trendy tapas bars dotted around the nearby streets. La Baule Gallery has some lovely design assets, such as the exposed brick walls, stone columns enhanced with iron beams, and other industrial details that highlight the high-quality furnishings. There aren't many entertainment options – but in this neighbourhood, you won't be bored.

The streets of Barcelona’s atmospheric Gothic Quarter are on your doorstep at this stylish city bolthole. Once you’ve had your fill of ancient cathedrals, secret squares and late-night tapas joints, perhaps hit the beach at Barceloneta, a leisurely walk away. It’s a studio-style apartment, but a room divider provides a little privacy between the bedroom area and dine-in living room. Located in the heart of Port Vell, this apartment puts the very best of Barcelona within strolling distance. You’re a twenty-minute walk from Barceloneta Beach and around ten minutes from the Gothic Quarter. After a morning spent sightseeing, we recommend taking advantage of the building’s amenities – a spa, an indoor pool and a gym are at your disposal. The home itself has everything you need for a stress-free break. The bedrooms are comfortable, and although the kitchen is small, it’s well-appointed.


A Breeze in Barcelona

One of several similar holiday apartments in the same building, this tastefully refurbished spot is in the heart of Barcelona, just 100 metres from Las Ramblas and a short walk from Plaza de Catalunya. The elegant living room includes a dining area and there’s a full kitchen for meals at home. We think the second bedroom would be best suited to children as there’s a pull-down bunk and it’s rather narrow. If you’re not using the sofa bed in the living room, this place feels particularly spacious and comfortable.

The Red Sky

Functional but with plenty of charm too, this home in Barcelona first caught our eye with its exposed brick and Catalan vaulted ceilings – all while adding in plenty of modern amenities. We also love that there is a little balcony here, handy for catching a glimpse of the city before you head out to explore. Nearby you'll find the Old Town, Barcelona's port, and the Las Arenas shopping centre, meaning you'll be swamped with choices for ways to spend your day.

Tiptoes On The Roof

With a private terrace perfect for cocktails and in a fantastic location, you'll be torn between spending a little longer at home and heading out here. The apartment is located in hip Esquerra de l'Eixample, so the local area is littered with trendy bars and local eateries. Back at home, the open-plan living space and its compact kitchen are there when you fancy dining in. Only one bedroom has air conditioning here, but with two bathrooms, at least you won't need to queue for your morning shower.

The Writer's Apartment

This compact little Barcelona bolthole makes a fantastic base to explore the vibrant city. Set in a residential area, you get a taste of local living without the bustle of tourists. And "taste" is the watchword, with wine bars, local restaurants and coffee shops lining the tree-filled boulevards just outside your door. The central thoroughfare of La Rambla is a twenty-five-minute walk, or an easy hop on the metro from nearby Rocafort station. This puts Barcelona’s biggest sights; Parc Guell, Sagrada de Familia, and the winding alleys of the Gothic Quarter within striking distance. The design of this home is simple and comfortable, with plenty of bright moments – like the modern art adorning the walls and colourful rugs on the hardwood floor. French-style windows bathe the dining room and living room in natural light, and open out onto a cute balcony for a cup of coffee and spot of people watching.

Thanks to the central location of this beautifully curated apartment, you can drop your bags and be exploring Barcelona’s happening streets in no time. Set in Sant Antoni, a neighbourhood in the central Eixample district famed for its 19th-century market, all the sightseeing hotspots are within easy walking reach. While the sofa area will feel tight with three sharing, the cosy window nook and small bedroom balcony are a nice touch, and there’s plenty of room to spill out around that dining table.

Nestled in the L’Esquerra de l’Eixample neighbourhood, this apartment places you within easy reach of many of the city’s must-sees. Teeming with tapas bars, you’ll never have to wander far for a true taste of Barcelona, and if you fancy a quiet night in, well, the kitchen may not be the biggest, but it’s a match for any budding chef. Do you want easy access to Barcelona's attractions? Come and stay in the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat district. Although this home has no lift, we think it's a great base worth the upstairs climb. Plus, the outdoor living space is a nice touch for sunset hangouts. Practical for families, there's a kid-friendly single bedroom, and a cot and high chair are available for little ones. It's a short stroll to the Torrassa metro station, from where the Plaza España is an eighteen-minute ride away.

Peace in the City

With this Barcelona apartment, you’ll be just a two-minute walk from Las Ramblas and three minutes from Plaza Real, with its fountains and palm trees.
