This wonderful home is located between the districts of the Gothic Quarter and Raval. It's right on the iconic Las Ramblas with its street performers, cafes, restaurants, markets and shops, and it's close to some more of Barcelona's most famous streets. Pedestrianised Calle Ferrán, which leads to the Barcelona City Hall and Plaça Reial, one of the city's most beautiful squares, are both nearby.

Back at this recently renovated apartment, we loved the characterful living space with its exposed brick walls, which are more than 200 years old and its high ceilings with wooden beams. The cute balcony is perfect for enjoying a glass of Cava while watching the comings and goings on Las Ramblas. This place is ideal for atwo couples or business professionals.

Found in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, this home couldn’t get much closer to the breathtaking Barcelona Cathedral if it tried. Easily admired even from the living space, we recommend stepping out onto the terrace whenever you want to swoon over the views of the thirteenth century Gothic construction. Lucky for you, the outdoor area is made for lounging – grab a seat as you watch the sunrise first thing in the morning, have meals alfresco, read under the Spanish sun, or sunbathe on the turf. 

Light and neutral inside, the home makes clever use of the space with efficient furniture choices like the sofa cum dining bench. The perfect space for relaxation after a day exploring the city at your doorstep or getting work done from the workspace in the lounge or bedroom. Put your feet up and unwind with a glass of wine before heading out for a bite to eat at one of the Catalan restaurants. 

Wander the narrow, mediaeval streets admiring the architecture as you make your way to La Rambla – around eight minutes away – to pick up street food. Days can be spent seeing the sights or relaxing on the beach – Barceloneta is twenty-four minutes on foot, but much quicker to get to by car if you’re eager to dip into the salty surf.

Live like a local in this smart Barcelona apartment, located in the vibrant Eixample district. You'll love getting comfortable in the bright living room, perhaps opening a bottle of Spanish red wine, and planning your stay in the city. When you get hungry, you can whip up your favourite meal in the kitchen, before gathering around the chic glass table to enjoy your culinary creations – there are even a few flamingoes on the wall for company. However, we think the best part of this contemporary home has to be the balcony, a fantastic spot for people-watching and chilling out at all times of day. The surrounding area is famous for its modernist architecture, and you'll love wandering through the streets, dipping into local boutiques and cafés as you go. The breathtaking Parc Joan Miró is just a ten-minute walk away, where you'll find plenty of open space, while the Plaça d'Espanya is just a little further. And, with the nearest metro station just one block away, it's very straightforward to get around the city from here, should you want to travel further afield.

With its stylish design and dynamic oil paintings, imported all the way from South Africa, this home impresses with its eclectic and considered aesthetic. We especially love the light-filled and open-plan living space, creating an inviting atmosphere where you'll love spending time after a day of gallery hopping. El Born is a bustling barrio of cafés, cocktails, and Catalan culture. Seconds from all the action, your home is located in a historical building with buckets of charm. We love the exposed brickwork and wooden beams of this original flat. These rustic structural features contrast beautifully with modern, understated furnishings and decor. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows open up on balconies overlooking the street, while cushy sofas and flowing curtains add softness to your surroundings. Up on the communal roof terrace, we recommend getting a cold drink and lying back in the sun loungers. This sunny spot is perfect for an iced coffee in the morning, or a chilled glass of wine in the evening. After relaxing up here, head down to street level to check out the bars and restaurants of El Born. It's also a fifteen-minute walk to the beach and just over five to the Parc de la Ciutadella. With the Barceloneta metro stop five minutes from home, the entire city is yours to explore. But if you're feeling a little overwhelmed by all the incredible options, your friendly host is here to help. They can provide tourist information as well as city maps, taxi booking, and tickets for monuments and museums – truly a first-class service.

This elegant apartment is in the centre of Barcelona, 100 metres from Las Ramblas and a short walk from Plaza de Catalunya. Bars, restaurants and shops are all on your doorstep. Apart from a full kitchen and delightful dining room inside, there’s a private terrace for evening cocktails outside. In the living room, you’ve got a dedicated laptop desk for those that need to work remotely. Despite the central location, it’s pretty quiet as the rooms look out over the terrace rather than the busy street.

Cosy and practically furnished, this apartment is a great base for couples or solo travellers. While there’s not much space in the living area, especially when the sofa bed’s in use, it’s comfortable enough for lounging between activities in your itinerary. It's worth noting that there are thirteen stairs to climb to reach the en-suite bedroom and while towels are provided, you’ll need to bring your own toiletries. Poble Sec metro station is on your doorstep and if you fancy stretching your legs, the Gothic Quarter is a few blocks away.

An oasis of calm in the heart of Barcelona, this stylish apartment is the perfect setting for a slow-paced city break. There’s plenty to love here, but we can’t talk about this home without immediately bringing up its gorgeous terrace which comes complete with outdoor seating and a private Jacuzzi. Head out here first thing in the morning to watch the sunrise or come together at the end of the day for a well-deserved aperitivo as night falls over the city’s rooftops.

It's not just the outside space that’s worth writing home about, though. Inside, traditional architecture combines with postmodern design to create stylish living spaces that you’ll be more than happy to linger in. Stretch out on the L-shaped sofa and indulge in a midday siesta or head downstairs for a relaxing swim in the pool followed by a quick session in the communal sauna. We don't know about you, but we can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon.

Comfy, modern, and effortlessly cool, this gorgeous apartment in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter is the kind of home you’ll be itching to return to after a busy day in the city. We can’t quite put our finger on what makes this place so special, but it probably has something to do with its stylish interior, which was inspired by the works of Ricardo Bofill Leví, one of Catalonia’s most celebrated architects. 

Spend all day unwinding in the open-plan living area or head downstairs for a quick workout in the communal gym before setting off to see what the city has to offer. From Barceloneta Beach to Plaça Reial, all the major attractions are within touching distance here, and we wouldn’t blame you for wanting to make the most of it. Soak up the gorgeous architecture of Barcelona Cathedral, head to Port Vell for a seafood feast with your fellow guests, or get a cab to Eixample where you’ll find plenty of places to dance the night away. 

Postmodern Paradise

Just a few blocks from Plaza de España and in walking distance of both Old Town and Barcelona's port, it's no exaggeration to say this two-storey home puts you in the centre of the action. We were fond of the modern interior, pleasingly combing with the traditional vaulted ceilings. The shaded terrace is a particularly nice touch, allowing you to grab some fresh air while you relax at home. When it's time to head out, you'll find museums and shopping centres practically on your doorstep.

Antique Mosaic

One of several similar holiday apartments in the same building, this tastefully refurbished spot is in the heart of Barcelona, just 100 metres from Las Ramblas and a short walk from Plaza de Catalunya. The elegant living room includes a dining area and there’s a full kitchen for meals at home. We think the second bedroom would be best suited to children as there’s a pull-down bunk and it’s rather narrow. If you’re not using the sofa bed in the living room, this place feels particularly spacious and comfortable.
