From the moment we pulled up outside and saw the setting, we were in love with this gorgeous stone-built home with its mesmerising views over the Mediterranean. Relax on the comfy L-shaped sofa in the stylish living room and drink them in or head to the mezzanine sitting room. Our favourite spot is the Eames-style rocking chair in the bedroom with its lovely beams. 

Outdoors is beautiful, too, and wonderfully private and secluded, thanks to its warm stone walls. Cook up a Mallorcan feast in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy it on the shaded terrace surrounded by cacti and potted palms. Then laze on the sunbeds in the Balearic sun – that's our kind of holiday. This place is absolutely perfect for families.

The location is great too – the charming town of Port de Pollença, with its restaurants and shops, as well as the fine sandy beach, is just three minutes by car, while Can Cullerassa Beach, used mainly by locals, is under 50 metres away.

Mallorquin both within and without, it’s built in the classic blonde stone of the area and filled with traditional dark wood furnishings, wrought iron beds and classic Mediterranean tiled floors. This home has been designed to make the most of the superlative views afforded by the cliff-top setting, so you can expect lots of glass – the turquoise of the sea becomes part of the colour palette. 

The villa is just a five-minute drive from Port Adriano, where you’ll find shops and restaurants, and the port, of course. From here you can set sail on a boat tour of the coast or, if you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, simply sip coffee as you watch the boats pull in. A day trip to Palma might also be on the cards – it’s thirty-five minutes away. There you can stroll the historic streets, dine in top-notch restaurants and explore galleries and museums – it’s well worth the journey.

Lay out by the infinity-edge pool on a sun lounger, seek out a shaded spot to get lost in the pages of a good book, and tuck into mouthwatering homemade meals at any of several outdoor dining spots. 

The home's interior is as classic as they come, with exposed wooden beams, terracotta tiled floors and antique pieces. We particularly loved the bright and breezy living room with its open fire and the book-lined library on the first floor. In addition to three homely bedrooms in the central part of the home, there's a separate guesthouse on the grounds with an additional twin bedroom and kitchenette – ideal for a multi-generational family getaway.

Mallorca is known for its spectacular scenery, so as tempting as it may be to stay put, you'd be missing out if you didn't explore a little further. The unusual flat rock beach and trendy Gran Folies Beach Club are within walking distance, while nearby Port d'Andratx is lined with luxury yachts and some of the finest seafood establishments in the Med. Less than a five-minute drive away, the local village centre offers shops and restaurants to explore. Meanwhile, San Telmo and Port d’Andratx are the nearest hotspots if you're looking to hit the beach. There are also regular ferry trips to the protected natural park of Dragonera, where you can arrange to go diving or hiking on the breathtaking Dragonera Island.

Due to the remote location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for your stay – the center of Valldemossa is less than a ten-minute drive away.

The house was built over 300 years ago, and the original stone walls keep it deliciously cool even in the hottest part of the day. It's been thoughtfully restored so it combines the original architecture with everything modern holidaymakers might need. You’ll find an attractive blend of local Binissalem stone, Mediterranean wood and woven textiles, which create a cool, calm aesthetic. 

Unusually for buildings in Deia, this home has terraces that enjoy the sun from morning until evening, maximising your time to soak up the rays. There’s plenty of space for reading in the shade as well as for sun-worshippers. A covered dining set with a white stone bench is the perfect spot for alfresco meals and glasses of Spanish wine.

You can stroll into Deia in three minutes to sip coffee or enjoy music in the evenings. Days at the beach are also an easy-breezy affair – it takes ten minutes to drive to gorgeous Cala Deia. You can be back in time to watch the sunset from one of the terraces.

If you fancy exploring your surroundings, the unspoiled coast is just a short drive away, as is the fascinating Old Town of Alcudia. Whether you prefer sand or cobbles beneath your feet, there's a whole lot of nature, history and heritage to discover on this part of the island. 

When you get home, we highly recommend a seafood barbecue, which is best enjoyed alfresco under the shade of the pergola. After dinner, head up to the balcony with a glass of wine to enjoy a spectacular sunset from the swinging egg chair, followed by a relaxing bubble bath in the freestanding tub.

Nestled in the Tramuntana mountains, this traditional stone house offers plenty of character and charm in a beautiful location. Wander through the historic alleys of Deià, dine in local restaurants and discover the artistic spirit of this coastal village. And when you’re ready to switch off and unwind, this home delivers the perfect solution. There is a private terrace sheltered by trees – perfect for lazy afternoons. Inside, the rooms are simple, rustic and well-suited to families. It’s worth noting there is no air conditioning or heating here, but fans are provided and there is a fire for the winter season. 


Dancing Sun Light 

Featuring a private yoga studio, plunge pool, and panoramic roof terrace, it's no wonder this townhouse caught our eye. It's packed with traditional character and rustic touches, creating a charming place to unwind. The courtyard is perfect for alfresco meals and afternoon dips, while the roof terrace is the go-to spot for sundowners. On the top floor, a large room serves as a studio for yoga, fitness routines, or business meetings. But the best part is the location. You're in the heart of old-town Pollença here, walking distance from the town centre and its amenities. There's also a garage if you plan to drive – quite a rare feature in this locale.

Tangerine & Turquoise

Just a five-minute drive from Pollença, this villa makes for a handy base. The white sand of Cala San Vincente is just fifteen minutes away, as are lively Alcúdia and Port de Pollença. Aside from its great location, this home also has size on its side – there’s heaps of room for just two guests. The decor is traditional, so it won’t appeal to everyone, but the outside space, with its lovely view, private pool, and covered terrace, surely will. 

The Mural

This sun-soaked home has everything you want from a Mallorcan getaway – endless sea views, a private balcony, unfussy interiors and a five-minute walk from the beach. The architects of this apartment had indoor-outdoor living at the forefront when designing this space. A wall of glass gives way to the outside space where a bistro set up calls for slap-up suppers that last well into the evening. 

Inside, white-washed walls and natural textures combine to create a relaxing environment that’s a pleasure to relax in. We particularly loved the pink striped couch, adding a touch of whimsy to the place. When you’re not penning smug postcards at the dining table, you’ll be strolling along the soft sands of S'illot Beach or taking day trips to the charming towns of Portocolom on the east coast, reached in thirty minutes by car, and Alcúdia in the north, less than an hour’s drive away.

Al Claro de Luna

This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.
