Let's kick off with the location first with this home – it's fantastic. The apartment is within walking distance of Plaça de Catalunya and the Arc de Triomf, as well as all the restaurants and bars of Eixample. Culture lovers, on the other hand, can visit the nearby Picasso Museum and the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art. The apartment itself has a Juliet-style balcony with views over the La Rambla de Catalunya. We should point out that if you're a group of four, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the already compact living room. But that's probably a small price to pay for such a great address.

We love the way the sunshine streams into this smart, modern home on the corner of one of Barcelona's most exclusive streets. Set in a typical period building, but with clean, contemporary styling, it's a fabulous choice if you want to be at the very heart of this bustling city. The spacious, open-layout living room has views of Carrer de la Diputació and the Rambla de Catalunya, and it's just steps from some of the best bars, cafes and restaurants in Barcelona.

If you're cooking at home, your apartment has a fully kitted-out kitchen with a dining table for six, and if you're working from home there's a little desk in the corner of the room. If we could choose one street out of the thousands in Barcelona to lay our hats for a stay in the city, it would always be the leafy, pedestrianised Carrer d'Enric Granado of the L'Eixample district. And luckily for you, it's the setting of this oh-so-elegant apartment. Brimming with highly-brunchable cafes, ice-cream parlours, and galleries and within walking distance of the city's must-see sights, you couldn't dream up a better location. 

Inside, vaulted ceilings dating way back to the 1800s bring all the wow factor – while a glorious mishmash of heirloom-worthy antiques and curated artwork add layers of interest and authenticity. Guests rave about the careful attention to detail here and we couldn't agree more. There's a dedicated desk area to keep on top of emails, a slick kitchen, and two fully modernised bathrooms, complete with rainfall showers to kick start your day.

But the clincher for us has to be that lavish living room with panoramic views of the city from the Juliette balcony. Grab yourself a freshly brewed coffee and peer out over the balcony to watch city life awaken below along its leafy avenue – it's everything you imagined it would be.

You'll find it nestled in a contemporary building on the top floor, providing a tranquil base amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, you're surrounded by metro links and a short walk from the famous Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas. The Passeig de Gràcia, with its delightful cluster of upmarket boutiques and Gaudi masterpieces, is also just a four-minute stroll from your doorstep. 

We love this home's open-plan design aesthetic. Inside, it's a timeless canvas of white walls and wooden floors, adorned with stylish decor. Large windows offer pretty views of the street while ushering sunlight to flood the space. After a restful slumber in the lavish bedrooms, spend mornings roosted at the dining table for coffee and breakfast. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you could need to prepare a home-cooked feast, though if you'd prefer to try the local cuisine, you're in an ideal spot to do so. One To Remember

When your home is just a three-minute walk from the dragon-like facade of Casa Batlló, you can certainly say that you’re in the heart of Gaudí’s Barcelona. Inside, colour and decor work together to create a playful and quirky vibe. The bright green shutters on the French doors certainly look traditional, but contrast tastefully with modern interiors. Similarly, we love the minimalist furniture in the kitchen and living space, juxtaposed with busy, patterned feature wallpaper. Situated on one of the main veins of the city, this apartment is more than convenient. Sightseeing is easy from this location, as well as from the home itself – the balconette stretches from the lounge to the bedroom, allowing ample space to look out to fantastic views. Down on the street, you can walk two minutes to the Passeig de Gràcia metro to get all around the city. A stop you should definitely make is the thirteen-minute train trip to the Sagrada Familia. Let yourself be overwhelmed by its beauty and detail, before wandering back through the decorative blocks of the city, stopping in for tapas and wine en route home.

However, you will find hints of tradition from Catalan design features like decorative tiled floors and arched, wooden shuttered windows. This home emanates a true sense of relaxation. With a playful interchange between the gentle white colours, rough wood, and exposed brick, Spectre has a lot to offer for lovers of rustic minimalism. Natural Light is a key element in creating a pleasant, warm atmosphere, aided by the semi-transparent curtains. Located in Eixample, the heart of the action in Barcelona, Spectre is surrounded by delicious cafes and restaurants – not to mention the numerous central sights, including the famous Casa Batlló.

Perched on the bustling Passeig de Gràcia, this apartment is just across the street from Gaudí's famous Casa Battló. You're so close that you can spot the fantastical architecture from the balcony – there may be nowhere to sit, but you can't beat the views. The home consists of two separate apartments connected by a hallway. That means you'll have two kitchens, two living areas, and double the amount of space. Factor in the central location – this pad is within walking distance of many landmarks, shops, and restaurants – and you can see why it caught our eye.

Eyes on Batlló

With a fantastic position in the middle of Eixample, this apartment puts you close to many of Barcelona's most famous sights. Even if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the city's streets, you'll be happy to return to this stylish home at the end of the day.

High ceilings and tall windows mean that the interior feels bright and airy, but there's also a Juliet balcony if you want to feel the breeze on your face at any point. There's a lot to like about the design too, with wooden furnishings and surfaces going nicely with the cool grey tiles and eclectic selection of objets d'art. We're fans of the exposed brickwork in the master bedroom, which adds a loft feel to the space, as well as the pristine subway tiling in the bathrooms.

When it comes to sightseeing, the place to start has to be Casa Milà, which lies five minutes' walk from the home. One of Gaudí's other famous creations, La Sagrada Familia, can be reached in twenty-five minutes on foot, too. The Gothic Quarter takes a similar amount of time in another direction.

Located in the trendy Eixample neighbourhood, on the arterial Passeig de Gràcia, this apartment has Barcelona’s best bits within easy reach. Gaudi's La Sagrada Família is no more than a twenty-minute walk away and you’re practically neighbours with Casa Milà and Casa Batlló. Saunter into the Gothic Quarter for charming medieval streets and authentic tapas bars or jump on the bus and make haste to the coast – Barceloneta Beach is only twenty minutes away.

The furnishings throughout are Scandi in style, with a preference for wood and clean lines, although both the kitchen and bathroom are more contemporary in style.

When you fancy seeing a little more of the city, the iconic Casa Milà takes ten minutes to reach on foot and another one of Gaudi's finished projects, Casa Batlló, takes only slightly longer. A little further afield, Tibidabo theme park is a forty-minute journey on public transport.

Step outside, and it's just a four-minute walk to the Plaça de Catalunya, and you can arrive at the labyrinthine Gothic Quarter in less than fifteen minutes.
