We love this home's private courtyard garden with its high sunkissed stone walls and sparkling pool. Recline on a sun lounger or enjoy a glass of wine as you get stuck into your holiday read. Later on, enjoy a Mallorcan feast under the shade of the canopy. Inside, you'll find a traditional interior with beams and terracotta tiled floors. Use the juicer in the kitchen to make a refreshing drink and get comfy on the sofa before heading out.

Situated in the centre of the village of Binissalem, you'll find a restaurant 100 metres away, while the bus and rail stations are 200 metres and 300 metres, respectively. If you want to visit the white sandy beach of Puerto Alcudia, it's around 30 kilometres away. A choice of thirty fruit trees in the orchard, plus numerous vegetables and herbs in the garden, make it super easy to pick the ingredients for lunch. 

Whip up a sumptuous Mediterranean feast in the modern kitchen, and then round up everyone for a lazy meal in one of the numerous indoor and outdoor dining areas. Later you can burn the calories with a game of tennis or basketball, followed by a cooling dip in the pool. The home is located near Binissalem, a Mallorcan village that is well known for its wine production. You can play a round of golf at the course that is just a twenty-five-minute drive away or have a competitive game of paintball – a six-minute drive away from your door. If shopping is more your style, head to the Mallorca Fashion Outlet, which can be reached in seventeen minutes by car. 

If you want to explore the island’s culture and heritage, then there is plenty of that not far from this home. An eighteen-minute drive will get you to Alaró Castle, a ruined fortress in the hills that has existed since 902. Drive fifty-two minutes from this home and you can reach, Salt d’es Freu waterfalls to admire nature’s stunning creation, or explore Port de Pollença – a thirty-four-minute drive away. 

For days on the sandy beach, drive twenty-seven minutes to Puerto d’Alcúdia. Or drive twenty-nine minutes to Palma and see the gothic cathedral, old town, wander the sands of the bay of Palma, or even enjoy the nightlife.

But we also love the dining options on the roof terrace, promising views of the Serra de Tramuntana. Take your siestas inside a 19th-century finca, retaining its rustic character. Little ones are looked after thanks to the baby cot and high chair provided. Fancy a drive? Nearby country towns offer heaps of Mallorcan charm.

La Fluja

There's an extraordinary feel to this place just outside the pretty town of Sencelles. In Mallorca's rural heartland, it's surrounded by farming country and sits in its own vast grounds with fruit trees, lawns and huge palms. Overlooking the fields, you'll be in tune with the land and totally switched off from modern life's stresses and strains.

This finca dates back to around 1890. Built from local stone and using traditional tiles, fireplaces and beamed ceilings, it's a stylish blend of rustic features and contemporary (think dark wood furniture and shuttered windows alongside modern steel and glass). A local architect has taken this old farmhouse and given it new life – without losing any of the atmosphere.

Your living space flows naturally on the ground floor, with a stunning seating area with a window wall to one side and exposed stone walls to the other. Stylish, comfy sofas provide a perfect indoor retreat to sit and chat, while the indoor dining table is just steps from the sleek, all-white kitchen. Two of the bedrooms open to the garden, while a steel staircase leads up to the others.

But this home's real star power comes in the form of an immense outdoor pool. Measuring more than 1000sq ft, it's been built using the existing base of an old farm building and uses several repurposed architectural features. It's pretty impressive if we say so ourselves.

As you'd expect, there's no shortage of secret outdoor seating spots and places to read under a tree in total seclusion. You'll also have a large covered terrace with a table and a barbecue. And here's a quirky little addition: if you thought the walk downstairs to the pool was too long from the main bedroom, the architect has installed some exterior metal steps so it only takes a moment.

Nearby, explore Sencelles and the surrounding villages, head off on hikes and bike rides, visit the local historic sites or drive to the coast for a day by the sea. Thanks to its location in the centre of the island, it's easy to get around by car.





Barefoot on the Stone
