With a view that cries out for an infinity pool, this hillside villa gets its wish. When your fingers start getting pruney from hanging out at the edge of the water, jump in the outdoor shower and dry out on the sun loungers and shaded sofas. There's a lovely terrace for an evening drink and a barbecue, so you can cook dinner without losing sight of the mountains. This villa feels nicely secluded, despite being a two-minute walk from the shops and restaurants in the enchanting village centre of Deià. 

Inside, there'll be no arguing over bathrooms – each bedroom, two of which have a sea view, has its own en-suite. We love the walk-in showers and the walk-in closet has enough space for your entire wardrobe – there's no need to live out of your suitcase here. If there's someone in your party that needs to stay connected or have a quiet place to work, one of the bedrooms affords them a comfortable office nook. There's an extra room on the second floor adjoining a laundry room, with a small bathroom and a kitchen if you need extra space. Get outside for a mountain hike, take advantage of the well-equipped gym, or siesta all day – this setting will leave you refreshed and reinvigorated.

This enchanting holiday home is the kind you find yourself daydreaming of long after you’ve unpacked your suitcases and returned to your normal life. It’s an oasis tucked away along a cobbled path lined with trees and shrubs, with spectacular views of the mountains that surround the village. 

The house was built over 300 years ago, and the original stone walls keep it deliciously cool even in the hottest part of the day. It's been thoughtfully restored so it combines the original architecture with everything modern holidaymakers might need. You’ll find an attractive blend of local Binissalem stone, Mediterranean wood and woven textiles, which create a cool, calm aesthetic. 

Unusually for buildings in Deia, this home has terraces that enjoy the sun from morning until evening, maximising your time to soak up the rays. There’s plenty of space for reading in the shade as well as for sun-worshippers. A covered dining set with a white stone bench is the perfect spot for alfresco meals and glasses of Spanish wine.

You can stroll into Deia in three minutes to sip coffee or enjoy music in the evenings. Days at the beach are also an easy-breezy affair – it takes ten minutes to drive to gorgeous Cala Deia. You can be back in time to watch the sunset from one of the terraces.

The vistas are particularly fine from the roof terrace, and there are two alfresco dining areas. Inside, there’s a chef's kitchen, a media room, four-poster beds, and sumptuous en-suites. In fact, the villa boasts four en-suite bedrooms within the main house, while a separate guest house with an additional double bedroom and bathroom offers privacy. Can it get any better? Back at this gorgeous home, sip some Cava in the jacuzzi – we adore the views. Inside, there's a boho-chic vibe with Chesterfield armchairs and raffia light shades. The place consists of two separate homes with private entrances, so it's perfect for a family or friends wanting more privacy. Jordi's family built this house when there were no roads here, and they had to use boats and donkeys to carry everything over. Without a shadow of a doubt, we can say their efforts were more than worth it – it's a truly magical place.

This rustic villa is just minutes from the picturesque Cala Deiá, one of Mallorca's prettiest beaches. A hotspot for swimming, this pebble cove is also home to some of the best seafood restaurants on the island. It'll be hard to resist waking up and strolling down to the water, enjoying a dip in the morning sun before making your way home for lunch. Then, in the evenings, walk twenty-five minutes into Deiá's charming centre. Known for its bohemian atmosphere and traditional architecture, you'll find green shuttered houses and narrow lanes flanked by independent boutiques, local art galleries, classic cafes, upmarket eateries and Mallorcan tapas bars.

Back at home, take the relaxing to the next level on the bougainvillaea-draped terrace, sipping vino and nibbling on padron peppers in the sunshine. You can just catch a glimpse of the sea from the pool, so splash about and admire the views. Curl up for a siesta in the hammock, sunbathe on the lounge chairs or explore the wild gardens beyond. Speaking of artists, designed by Thomas Urquijo, the interior is a picture of rustic beauty with whitewashed walls that give way to rooms decorated in nautical tones of blue, a surplus of antique glass and porcelain ornaments, tiled-flooring, and full-size chandeliers. There is something grand and historic about this Mallorcan villa. Not only is it a veritable palace, but it’s just outside the historic heart of Soller, right next to a supermarket and a short stroll from traditional bars, restaurants and the winding streets of the town centre. From Soller, you can take the charming chocolate box tram to Port de Soller for a day at the beach, or head all the way to Palma in the other direction.

In the grounds of the villa, you’ll find Grecian-style columns lining the pool terrace and towering greenery secluding the garden from view. An inviting Roman-style swimming pool takes pride of place, surrounded by a perfectly manicured lawn. The stonework of the patio and an old well add an air of fairytale nostalgia, alongside twisting grapevines covering the iron arbour. Underneath, shaded by vines, you’ve got a plush seating area and dining for the whole group.

Inside, you’ll find a grand dining room with room for up to eighteen. Huge group meals can be cooked in the professional-style kitchen which wouldn’t look out of place in a Michelin-starred restaurant in sleek steel and chrome. Dark wood furniture like tea chests and ornately carved dressers give off a sense of grandeur. But it’s the bedrooms that really made us feel like we were in a palace – think four-posters beds and headboards swathed with satin curtains.

In the cobbled streets of Fornalutx, meander through the "Most beautiful village in Spain" straight from your front door. Step into this ancient Moorish home through an old door and let yourself be welcomed by an indoor courtyard, perfect for a refreshment before exploring the rest of the house. 

The white-washed nooks and crannies created in the 11th century have been modernised, but, with terracotta tiles, wood beams and honey-brown stone walls it still feels like an old Moorish retreat. Admire the mountains from the fragrant, bougainvillaea-shaded terrace with a barbecue on the go. Cool off in the plunge pool, surrounded by boho loungers. Get your yoga mat out in the studio and project your class on the walls before refreshing under the outdoor rooftop shower. This bean-bag-filled room doubles as a boho cinema pad too.

For the musical in the group, there’s a piano, and a library-style office if you need to catch up on emails. There are plenty of local restaurants for dinner. In the morning, directly access the hiking or cycling trails and creeks in the lush green landscape. Port de Soller and a swim in the ocean is only 15 minutes away by car too.

Set in the village of Sóller, this home feels like a lavish piece of Mallorca's history. From its beamed dining room with long oak tables to the sweeping staircase, it’s all old-world charm in here. An industrial kitchen is the newest part of the building, and will help even the most amateur of chefs whip up an impressive feast. Divided into two buildings (though the annexe requires a fee to use), the home is centred around the main house where most of the bedrooms are found, and each is as stately as the next, with four-poster beds, comfy sofas, and en suites with tiled baths ensuring that everyone feels like royalty. But not even the stunning architecture can compete with the Mother Nature – from the windows to the terraces and balconies, the mountain views are what crowns this place for us. 

Slip on your favourite eveningwear, sweep across the swirling tiled floors, and spend evenings gorging underneath the tree-covered patio. A private pool and sun loungers are on hand for recuperating, while small stone balconies can be found in every corner – perfect for sipping your morning cup of coffee on. 

Should you feel the need to leave the villa, Sóller is a pretty old town with plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. Perhaps take the chocolate-box train to Port de Sóller for a seafood feast by the harbourside, or into Palma to soak up some Mallorcan history and culture.

Welcome to the jungle – or at least, Mallorca's version of it. The craggy backbone of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage status for their untouched beauty – and nestled amongst the peaks and foliage, you'll find the sleepy little village of Fornalutx and this swoon-worthy villa. Just a fifteen-minute drive from Port de Sóller and the beach, this is the perfect spot to soak up the island's traditional atmosphere.

This charming and rather unique place rises up from the lush greenery like an ancient temple – though we doubt many of those featured an enormous indoor pool, a spacious garden for you to bask in the sunshine, and a dining terrace with one of the best views we've ever seen. We're already picturing morning breakfasts on the terrace, afternoon swims in the pool and evening cocktails as the sun goes down over the village.

Inside, it's just as lovely as its backdrop, with period features and antique furniture providing a quintessentially Mallorcan touch. We love the comfortable lounge area, with big sofas all centred around the stone fireplace, as well as the enormous bedrooms with roomy en-suites. But our favourite has to be the double-height dining hall. With its chandelier and ornately-carved table, it's crying out for a formal family meal – come dinnertime, enjoy tapas, a bottle of wine and good conversation as the breeze blows through the French doors.

You Gotta Have Fronds

Perched on the Mallorcan coastline, this villa is situated in the northwestern corner of the island. There’s a separate apartment here that can be rented in conjunction with the main villa, upping the guest count to eight if you’re travelling with a larger group. It’s worth noting that all of the bedrooms are on the lower ground floor, so this home may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. The upside however is that they all have direct access to the pool – good news for those who enjoy an early morning swim. The views are also a real highlight, which can be enjoyed from the spacious balcony and shady patio.

From this hilly terrain, you can drive to the rugged coast in fifteen minutes, or explore the mountains to find stately homes like La Granja d'Esporles. This home is truly a garden of earthly delights. Like its surroundings, the private, fenced grounds are verdant and fresh. Made up of three traditional stone buildings, your countryside finca dream will come to life. A saltwater pool is the centrepiece, while rocking chairs, wicker dining sets, and a hanging egg chair give you plenty of options for taking in the sun. Let the kids run wild around the garden, with the table football and swing set keeping them busy while you pick fresh oranges and almonds from the trees.

Traditional, countryside life continues inside. The main building houses a rustic living space, where you can relax alongside timber beams, flagstone floors, and a wood-burning stove. In the kitchen and dining building, find exposed stonework and a vintage wooden dining table. This space exudes a warmth that will feel even better when the whole family is gathered round for a wholesome dinner.

While there are many highlights to this home, the gardens immerse the senses in the island's magic – with an eighteen-acre olive grove, you'll be bathed in beauty from every direction. The seasonal olive harvest and sheep shearing offer an interesting glimpse into the workings of the farm, with the option to participate if you like.

Stepping inside this recently restored home, features such as the wooden shutters, exposed timber beams and antique furnishings create a charming and characterful space. Perfect for large groups and families – there's even a separate media room and gym with professional equipment. And with everything you could need in the kitchen for cooking a Balearic banquet, this home is perfect for entertaining. Upstairs, the elegant bedrooms provide a serene space to retreat to. You'll love waking up to watch the sunrise across the Serra de Tramuntana mountains in the morning.

Don’t forget to stop in at Pescaderia Mayol on the way back home, you’ll need today’s seafood catch for your grilled dinner under the beamed cabana.
