There’s an outdoor and indoor bar – hello welcome drinks – private gym and even a massage room, not to mention mountain views and indoor bike storage. And the comfort carries right through to the outdoor pool area, where the chance to relax is everywhere. A full outdoor lounge spans the length of the terrace, shaded by a wooden pergola, and we love the propellor coffee tables that add a quirky touch. A summer kitchen can provide the alfresco feasts every evening, if you’re not heading into Palma.

The interior is an entertainer’s paradise with that glass-cubed bar in the living room and huge open spaces designed for socialising. There’s a touch of Japanese-zen to the dining area where an ink-black dining set sits against a cherry blossom mural, and the lounge feels like a Balinese chill-out space with tufted leather sofas and pot plants. Bedrooms are soothingly neutral in tone, and the master comes with a free-standing slipper tub for an evening soak.

This fabulous period townhouse is a real find. Authentic, beautifully styled and packed with character, it's a homage to the city and its history. Set over five floors, including the stunning roof terrace, its green shuttered windows and balconies are in keeping with the area's traditional feel, and the interior, while stylish and comfortable, reminds us of a museum. Whites and terracotta tones make for a timeless feel, while architectural features like the marble staircase and beamed ceilings provide a backdrop to a collection of antiques, vintage artworks and local artefacts – some even displayed in cabinets. 

The living space is exquisite, with windows to three sides, a comfy sofa and an open plan kitchen and dining space, and although the kitchen isn't huge, the host has managed to pack in everything you could need. But we think you're likely to be eating on the roof terrace most evenings. With its own small preparation kitchen to save you lugging dishes up the stairs, this space is simply beautiful. Eat together at the little table, read on the sun loungers or just take in the views across the rooftops. Given some privacy by a series of screening curtains, it's a superb place to watch the sun go down with a good bottle of wine.

Get the best of both worlds with this gorgeous home in Palma. Ca'n Pere Antoni Beach is a five-minute stroll, while Palma Cathedral and the Old Town are just under ten minutes on foot. Or head to the largest covered market in the city, Olivar Market, for local delicacies and flowers, a fifteen-minute saunter.

Back at this fine, three-storey townhouse, there's a private lift to whisk you up to the top floor, where you'll find the main living accommodation. Head through the stylish living space to the glorious terrace, fire up the barbecue and grill some fresh produce from the market (whizz up some aioli with the blender in the modern kitchen to accompany your feast). Then relax on the comfy outdoor sofa – our favourite spot. 

This place is perfect for two couples, work colleagues or a family looking for added privacy, as there's a one-bedroom studio apartment on the first floor with its own patio. To top it all, this home has a garage for parking the car, an unusual feature this close to the capital.

If you love modern art, this home is perfect – it's under a fifteen-minute stroll from Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani de Palma. Once you've admired the hundreds of artworks here, many of which are by artists from the Balearic Islands, head up to its roof terrace for fabulous views over the bay. Or soak in the atmosphere at the historic Plaza Mayor, the heart and soul of Palma Old Town, just a one minute amble from this apartment's quiet street. Other attractions nearby include the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma (La Seu), a six-minute walk away. For a day on the beach, pop over to Can Pere Antoni, which is twenty minutes on foot. Later, if you love browsing a local market like us, there are a couple within a five-minute amble. Olivar Market has lots of local delicacies, or pick up some flowers from the stalls on Passeig de la Rambla and take them back home.

We love the views of the sun-bleached ochre-coloured facades opposite with their jade window shutters. The Birth Of The Day

Although this apartment's located in an eighteenth-century mansion in Palma's Old Town, the interior is delightfully modern. The minimalist kitchen is dominated by sleek finishes, while the living room's stark white walls and wooden floorboards look similarly smart.

That's not to say it's completely anonymous, though. There are some Asian influences in the decorations, particularly the elephant statue and the orange patterned rug. We're also big fans of the intricate mosaic tiling in the bathroom too, also in sunset tones.

When you want a breath of fresh air, simply step out onto the home's balcony and gaze out onto the street below. Plaça Major sits just one minute's walk away and Museu Fundació Joan March is another sixty seconds beyond that. The city's gothic cathedral only takes six minutes to reach on foot, too.

From this hilly terrain, you can drive to the rugged coast in fifteen minutes, or explore the mountains to find stately homes like La Granja d'Esporles. And just a twenty-minute walk from this rural manor, you can stay in your very own modern-day version. 

This home is truly a garden of earthly delights. Like its surroundings, the private, fenced grounds are verdant and fresh. Made up of three traditional stone buildings, your countryside finca dream will come to life. A saltwater pool is the centrepiece, while rocking chairs, wicker dining sets, and a hanging egg chair give you plenty of options for taking in the sun. Let the kids run wild around the garden, with the table football and swing set keeping them busy while you pick fresh oranges and almonds from the trees.

Traditional, countryside life continues inside. The main building houses a rustic living space, where you can relax alongside timber beams, flagstone floors, and a wood-burning stove. In the kitchen and dining building, find exposed stonework and a vintage wooden dining table. You’re also a six-minute walk from Passeig del Born and its high-end boutiques, while sandy Playa Can Pere Antoni is twenty minutes away on foot.

This restored farmhouse is located up in the peaceful Tramuntana mountains and is best suited to groups who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We love the large outdoor patio and kitchen area – the perfect spot for some alfresco dining. Due to the remote location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for your stay – the center of Valldemossa is less than a ten-minute drive away.

Step back in time at this immaculate apartment housed in a historic casa in Palma's Old Quarter. As quintessentially Mallorcan as it gets, ornate iron balconies tumbling with greenery greet you on arrival, while a dizzying spiral staircase creates quite an entrance inside.

But this place hides a few surprises too. At the heart of the home is a private inner courtyard garden that bathes the living areas in natural light. And over in the bedrooms, which each boast access to a charming balcony and their own bathroom, this home keeps on delivering the unexpected. Cast your eyes upwards to discover the most astonishingly beautiful frescoes we ever did see. 

And yet, despite all this opulence, there's a quiet elegance about the whole space that we love. White walls and rustic wooden furnishings skillfully dial down the ornate historic features, while a cosy sitting area and tasteful soft furnishings give the place a homely feel.

Outside this luxurious home, you'll find you're just steps away from the city's must-see sights. The stunning Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma is just a seven-minute stroll away. And when thoughts turn to food, Plaça Major (one minute on foot) will easily deliver tasty tapas and a glass of something chilled. Ideal for both families or a group of friends, the private pool lets you spend time together privately as a group. And if the sun gets too much, there's plenty of space indoors to relax, while the pergola is perfect for shaded alfresco dining. If you decide to explore, you'll find both Port Adriano and Port Andratx close by.

If, like us, you love browsing a local market when you're away, you're in luck – this lovely apartment is just a one-minute walk from Plaza Mayor with its frequent craft markets, as well as cafes and boutiques. There are another couple of marketplaces a five-minute stroll too. Pick up some flowers from the stalls on Passeig de la Rambla, or browse Mercat de l’Olivar for seafood, cheese, pastries and other local delicacies. For lovers of art, Es Baluard, with its gorgeous rooftop terrace, is under fifteen minutes away. Or, if you prefer to spend the day on the beach, Can Pere Antoni is twenty minutes on foot.
