Amidst the dramatic backdrop of the sand-hued ancient castles and rolling hills of Plans de Sió sits this restored 16th-century farmhouse. Once a vineyard, the garden is now home to a stunning octagonal swimming pool, reminiscent of a Moorish plunge pool, a ping pong table, outdoor dining with a barbecue, and a wrap-around terrace overlooking the endless fields and forests. The view here is particularly breathtaking at sunset. Inside, the ancient stone walls are adorned with unique pieces by local artists and shelves show off trinkets from around the globe. The kitchen retains its old farmhouse charm, but shining chrome appliances give away the 21st-century make-over. A collection of outbuildings are now home to covered outdoor dining with the rustic simplicity of a monk’s refectory, and an old storeroom has been converted into a plush home cinema with velvet seats and perfect acoustics. Bedrooms feel hotel-grade luxurious, but what we really love are the retained old flourishes of the former farmhouse – stone tables for grinding corn, stone barrel rooms now holding bedrooms and a master bedroom in the old kitchen, still with its striking ancient hearth. Breakfast is also included every day.

This stunning home is in one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, El Born, and is just a seven-minute walk from Barcelona Cathedral, and thirteen minutes from Las Ramblas. Barceloneta Beach is only nineteen minutes away too – you can effortlessly experience all the best parts of Barcelona from this wonderful home.

And when you’re ready to explore, the historic town of Torroella de Montgri, with its narrow streets and impressive castle, and the former fishing village of L’Escala, famous for its anchovies, are just a short drive away.

Gaudi might be famous for his work in Barcelona, but that hasn't stopped this home taking inspiration from the famous Catalan architect. A 200-year-old farmhouse has been turned into a slick, white-washed hangout. Modernist influences are seen in the rounded walls, arched doorways, and buckled pillars. The living room is far out, from the white pool and foosball tables to the huge semi-circular sofa. The master suite is the most impressive, sending out spaceship vibes with its round bed, droplet shaped fireplace and spacious curved bath. But not even the slinky interiors can compete with Mother Nature, as views over the hills and out to the sea abound from every angle. The garden has been planted with bougainvillea, which showers archways and dining tables with pink blossoms when it blooms. For special occasions, head to the home's club room, complete with a DJ hut and incredible sound system. Life will feel pretty amazing floating in the infinity pool or sipping cocktails on the terrace.

Wooden trusses criss-cross the ceilings and shutters open up and look out onto the Spanish countryside from various rooms. Days will be spent either around the flora filled pool garden, dining in the shade of a stone archway, or at the beach which is a quick drive from the cottage. The home is located within a small and sought-after resort with its own nearby castle, prestigious golf courses and in the summer months, a classical music concert.

Just a ten-minute drive from Lloret de Mar with its world-class beaches and electric nightlife, this home offers you peace and tranquillity while still being close to the action. Inside, you’ll find wooden floors, cool, contemporary furnishings and vibrant pops of colour that brilliantly offset the whitewashed walls. The real wow factor is the living space’s wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows though – take in views over Canyelles’ shimmering bay from your sofa, or better yet, head to the upstairs terrace to enjoy breakfast while feasting on the vistas. Afternoons call for lazing by the pool and soaking up the sun on one of the many loungers, while the little ones will love the play area and the dedicated children’s bedroom full of soft toys. Drive less than ten minutes to sandy Platja de Canyelles to dip your toes in the sea before coming back home for a soak in the sunken tub followed by a barbecue feast. When it’s time to turn in, watch the moon rise over the hills from the bedroom’s letterbox windows or private terraces before falling into a wonderfully peaceful night’s sleep.

This is a cosy and comfortable 5-room house located in Vizcondado de Cabanyes, just 3km from Calonge. The property features a private terraced garden with a fenced lawn, swimming pool, pergola, garden furniture, and barbecue. The house is equipped with digital TV, a fully equipped kitchen, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The upper floor offers a large terrace with terrace furniture and deck chairs. Guests can enjoy shared access to the shower/WC in the pool area and an outdoor shower. A car is recommended to explore the area, which includes nearby attractions such as Parque Aquatico (6km), sandy beaches (5km), sports harbor (8km), golf course (10km), and riding stable (12km). Please note that the owner does not accept any youth groups and the house is suitable for families only.

This home couldn't be better located for exploring Spain's Costa Daurada. Spend an afternoon sprawled out on the golden sands of El Canyadell and Torredembarra beaches, both just a short stroll away from this home. Or explore Spain's second-most important Roman site with its museum and coastal amphitheatre in Tarragona, a twenty-minute drive away. Later, head down to the port and try one of the tempting restaurants to sample Catalan specialities, the perfect way to end the evening. 

Back at home, this sunny home makes the ideal base to rest your feet. Have a glass of white wine from the renowned Ribera d'Ebre region on the wraparound bougainvillaea-covered terrace, catching the last of the day's rays. Inside, sink into the comfy rattan sofas in the light-filled, open-plan living space – there's even a wood burner to gather around on chillier nights. If you don't fancy eating out, fire up the barbecue in the garden and cook up a feast to enjoy at the large table shaded by trees – alfresco dining at its finest.

Plonked right on the Torremirona golf course, this home is a perfect base from which to explore the densely forested landscapes of the Paratge Natural l'Albera and Parc Natural de la Zona Volcànica de la Garrotxa, both within an hour's drive. There is also plenty to do right on your doorstep, from quaint shops to bakeries and butchers. If you're chasing the waves, there are sandy beaches a short drive away with access to water sports, as well as a skydiving centre if you really are chasing the rush. After a day packed with activities, return home to your villa and kick back on the comfortable patio chairs. The light, bright interiors are filled with eclectic art and sculpture, though we wouldn't blame you for abandoning them in favour of the pool. Cook up dinner at the outdoor stove, and don't forget the sangria.

Near the glamorous resort of S'Agaro – which has had famous visitors such as Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, and Sean Connery – you can live the high life on the Costa Brava at this delightful villa. You're just a 25-minute walk from S'Agaro beach, while a short drive will take you to the larger resort of Platja D'Aro, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to discover. However, you might spend most days at your villa, sunbathing in the garden or taking a dip in the pool. Enjoy breakfast each morning at the outdoor dining table – the sun is guaranteed to shine all day here in the Costa Brava – before heading out to explore the local sights. Make sure to pick up ingredients for a barbecue or prepare meals in your kitchen, which contains all the amenities you'll need including a freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. A longer stay ensures you can explore all the best parts of this wonderful coastline, with the washing machine facilitating family-sized loads of laundry.

Stellar Equilibrium

Situated in the charming Catalan village of Sant Mori, this elegant apartment is perfect for a small family or for couples visiting this picturesque area. You’ll be within walking distance of the town’s shops and restaurants, with plenty of outdoor activities to be enjoyed too. The home has a large private garden, a pool, and a shaded alfresco dining area. The inside feels bright and comfy, offering a modern design and plenty of light. Although there’s enough bed space for five, we think the home is best suited for four adults and a child. 

The Warmth of the Sun

This lovely apartment features an eye-catching rocky garden that frames impeccable views of Costa Brava. The home sits on the edge of a cliff between Girona and Barcelona – a quiet and calming spot, with plenty of sun reaching you. Put up the umbrella for shade during lazy outdoor lunches while taking in the vista of the water.  Inside, it's simple and charming, with works of art adorning the living room wall and colourful cushions on the sofa. When you're in the mood for exploring, head down to Mar Menuda Beach, a short walk from your front door, or hit the road to explore the centre of nearby Tossa de Mar, appreciating the imposing city walls.

Located just a couple of kilometres from the soft sandy beach on Sant Antoni de Calonge and with your own private pool, this two-storey villa is perfectly set up for get-togethers with your extended family, or a large group of friends.

You'll feel completely at ease in the beautiful garden, whether you're swimming a few leisurely laps or relaxing on a sun lounger. After an afternoon snooze in comfortable bedrooms, pack your seaside essentials and take the short drive to the beach, or head out to explore the nearby town of Calonge, just two minutes away on foot.

Located on the Costa Brava, this family-friendly abode is just 800 metres from Platja de Canyelles and 7 kilometres from Tossa de Mar, a charming town home to traditional restaurants and two Blue Flag beaches. The villa itself is equipped with everything you’ll need for a seamless stay and while the bedrooms are simple, they’re comfortable enough for extended stays. Outside, there’s a private swimming pool and a dining terrace, though, at capacity, not everyone will fit around the table, so we’d be tempted by a picnic on the lawn instead.

The Overlook

A vision of relaxation just outside Sant Feliu de Guixols on the Costa Brava, this villa invites you to enjoy a treacly pace of life and make the most out of the dazzling Spanish sun. 

Laid out over three floors, there’s plenty of space to socialise altogether, while the downstairs TV room, separate living area and comfortable bedrooms allow for quiet moments to steal for yourself. We love the contemporary, pared-back decor that feels effortlessly stylish against the bright white walls and tiled floors, while ample natural light fills the home thanks to the large windows and beautiful outdoor spaces. As well as the covered balcony upstairs, you’ve also got a stunning patio garden replete with outdoor seating, a barbecue and a shimmering private pool. Whether you’re taking cool dips in its waters, catching some rays on the loungers or sipping sundowners around the table, you’ll love making the most out of this sun-drenched space. 

While you could easily while away whole days in your home, take some time to explore the nearby sights. You’re a seventeen-minute walk from sandy Playa de Sant Feliu, a four-minute stroll from the Les Penyes observation deck, while bustling Girona is just under forty minutes away by car.
