This charming villa with views of the Montgó, otherwise known as the Elephant, is a great setting to spend quality time with your loved ones. With mostly ensuite bedrooms, a private pool and a room to work out in, it has a lot going for it. We like the various sunny and shaded outdoor seating areas – with the poolside marquis being our favourite spot. The centre of Beniarbeig, with its shops and restaurants, is within walking distance of the villa and the nearest beach of Denia is only a short drive away.

There's a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living room area to relax in – albeit a little dated in terms of decor. Equipped for all seasons, there's a fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for the summer months. We love the lawned gardens surrounding this family-friendly home – they boast superb sea and mountain views and include a large private pool and BBQ area too. While you can explore the local area on foot, we suggest a car for ease – Parc Natural del Montgó is less than 2km from the villa.

What’s better than waking up to a fresh cup of cafe con leche? Perhaps only waking up to your morning brew accompanied by vistas over the Med. At this characterful home, you’ll have the perfect backdrop and morning pick-me-up, courtesy of your hillside vantage point and your own coffee machine. Split over three levels, this terraced house combines clean lines with traditional touches such as terracotta floor tiles and wood furnishings, lending the space a distinct sense of place. The real show-stealer, though, is the upper terrace, which makes the perfect spot for breakfast (pan con tomate, anyone?) or dinner with a view. If you're looking for a quintessentially Spanish coastal retreat with all of the sangria and sunshine that comes with it, look no further than this gorgeous two-storey villa. Located in La Colina, you're a couple of kilometres from the vast sandy beach and crystalline waters of Platja de l'Arenal, but that's if you can peel yourself away from this achingly beautiful home. 

Days begin outside, with an iced coffee on the sun terrace, overlooking the scenic natural landscape and planning the day's agenda. It will most likely continue with a few leisurely laps of the pool before picking out a lounger to while away the hours. When lunchtime arrives, fire up the barbecue and tuck into a group feast on the terrace. You're well catered for when it comes to alfresco areas – including several day beds and covered seating space for the entire party to sprawl out and unwind.

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

It's plain to see that somebody with a real eye for design has worked their magic on this townhouse found in the coastal town of Calp. Everywhere you look inside, there are tasteful touches, from the dining table made from a repurposed door and the unashamedly bright colours on the walls to the sheer range of objets d'art dotted about the home.

We're also happy to say that there's plenty of substance behind this style. The sleek black kitchen not only looks the part, but it's also well-equipped for whipping up a feast. We're also fond of the terrace, which has views out over the rooftops and verdant hillsides beyond.

When you're ready to get to know the locale a little better, you'll be surprised at how much there is to see. All of three minutes' walk from the home is Torreó de la Peça, the centuries-old defensive walls built to protect the town from marauders. Arena-Bol beach is a ten-minute walk, while further along the coastline, it's possible to head up to the top of Penyal d'Ifac in just over an hour on foot for some incredible views. 

Art Lives Here

Only five kilometres from the historic centre of Javea, this pet-friendly home offers an excellent base for groups staying on the Costa Blanca. Outdoors, you'll sunbathe beneath palm trees and serve Spanish-style barbecues by the pool. With parking space for two cars, day trips to the nearby natural parks are made easy, but how about exploring the Cova dels Òrguens sea caves instead? Though the closest Playa de Cala Ambolo is a nudist beach, traditional alternatives await between the Mediterranean miradors.

Meander back to your apartment, grab a takeaway pizza at a local restaurant, and enjoy lunch at the dining table with the salty air breezing through the gaping doors. Maintain your view of the oceanfront as you pour wine in the kitchen and sit around the table, socialising long after the last crust is gone.

For dinner, you might search for a more authentic Spanish meal at one of the surrounding tapas bars and stay out for drinks at a Tiki Bar.

Featuring a lovely, light filled open plan kitchen cum dining and living room, courtesy of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which open out onto a cosy courtyard, this artful home boasts both style and substance. Nods to the nautical meet whitewashed walls and windows shutters while brand spanking new cabinetry meets worn wooden furniture, woven basket lights and colourful framed prints. 

Undoubtedly the star of the show, however, is the interior courtyard, with its traditional Tosca stone walls and Spanish style tiled floor – the perfect relaxing retreat come morning, noon or night. You’ll love rising early to catch the sunrise before taking your morning coffee out into the courtyard. Host cook offs and gather around the dining table for sociable meal times or head out for hours of sun-baked fun at the beach before meandering along to one of the many local seaside cafes for fresh food and uninterrupted Mediterranean views.

This stylish pet-friendly apartment lies on the coast of Altea, overlooking the harbour. On the fifth floor with lift access, this home is a great base for exploring the promenade, beach, and cultural sights. There's always the chance of hearing some noise from neighbours, so if you're a light sleeper it may be worth packing earplugs. With a communal garden, the sea right on your doorstep and the whole of Altea to explore by car, you can't get much closer to the action.
