This cottage-style villa has plenty of character – we particularly like the imposing fireplace in the lounge and the elevated library in the master bedroom. Outside there’s lots of greenery, with a plant-filled terrace and small, lawned garden to enjoy. While the swimming pool is on the small side, the pretty surroundings mean it’s still a pleasant place to cool off. We particularly love the main bedroom with its four-poster bed and ocean vistas (there's also an office area here if you want to write a travel blog or catch up on work). The highlight, though, for us, is the private garden area around the apartment – you have a terrace and garden furniture for alfresco meals – it's a great space overlooking the Grande Plage, as well as the Pointe de la Garde.

Spend idyllic days on the Grande Plage on your doorstep or indulge in some water sports such as surfing, paddleboarding or take some catamaran lessons. If you fancy exploring further afield, then Cape Fréhel, to the west, is perfect for bird watchers, or the nearby charming resort of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo has a small port and coastal paths.

In winter, snow bunnies can make the most of three downhill slopes in the area, including La Bresse-Hohneck just a ten-minute drive from the apartment. The two other smaller resorts of Lispach with six runs, and Brabant, offering three, also welcome visitors during the season. For cross-country skiing, the Lispach Nordic Area boasts 50 kilometres of runs for all abilities, as well as snowshoeing circuits, an international biathlon stadium, a floodlit track, sledging slopes, and an ice rink.

With all that action and adventure on offer, it's just as well that at the end of a day spent making unforgettable memories, you can retreat to the comfort and serenity of your apartment.
