It's easy to see why we love this apartment. First, the location is incredible. You're smack-dab in artsy Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of Paris' most emblematic neighbourhoods. Although we could spend all day discovering the boutiques and eateries here, it's extremely well-connected to the rest of the city if you'd like to venture further afield. Secondly, the apartment itself is a real gem. The design combines traditional features with all the modern conveniences you'll need. Space can be a little tight with the sofa bed in use, but there's plenty of room in the main suite and the second bathroom is a nice bonus. If you're after a quintessentially Parisian experience, this is it.

A characterful home if ever we saw one in an exceptional location, a stone's throw away from Saint-Germain metro station – this was an inevitable addition to the Plum collection. The decoration is bold yet brilliant, with a mix of thick grey horizontal and vertical stripes alongside exposed brick walls, old rustic beams and solid wooden doors complete with their original steel latches. It should be warned, that there is no air conditioning so things can get hot during the summer months, this aside, the home is well-equipped, with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay in Paris.

Built on the only remaining wall of the 13th century Saint Germain-des-Prés Abbey, this apartment across three storeys still shows the bones of the old building. Although each room has been renovated to 21st-century standards, the original medieval abbey walls have been left exposed with stone arches and cornices even in the bathrooms. The double-height living room feels big and airy, with stonework from the abbey sitting alongside vibrant modern art. Up on the mezzanine, a study area and glass-fronted master bedroom overlook the living room. Down at the bottom level, another full living area – second sitting room, kitchen and dining – is decked out in 60s splendour, like discovering a time capsule in your basement. Home to the Louvre/Palais-Royal neighbourhood, this is a historically lavish part of the city where you'll find some of the biggest attractions. A four-minute walk from the Palais du Louvre itself, this apartment certainly continues on a majestic theme. Through a courtyard full of lush plants, the entrance to this building has the famous cream-coloured walls of Parisian homes that you’d expect. However, the interiors tell another story. A rich orange sofa welcomes you to the modern living space – with exposed brickwork, a glossy tiled breakfast bar, and a full-length glass partition wall to break up the bedrooms. While frosted windows save your modesty, there’s nothing modest about the decor of the rooms.
