Inside, the design leans on traditional, with period features and antique furnishings rubbing shoulders with quaint landscape artwork and homely rugs on the floor. Tall sash windows bring in plenty of natural light and look out to sleepy treetop views on the upper floor. 

When it comes to getting to know the local area a little better, the first port of call should be the famous King's Road, only five minutes' walk away, which has a wealth of restaurants and boutiques to explore, as well as a couple of art galleries. As soon as we stepped through the door, we instantly felt at ease in this basement-level apartment – its modern country style, neutral tones and thoughtful presentation make it cosy and welcoming. We loved the quaint, whitewashed courtyard with bistro seating – a great spot for an evening meal in the summer or leisurely breakfasts in the early morning. Both bedrooms overlook the patio so they are quiet and calm – you can guarantee a restful sleep night after night. The location is also ideal, right in the heart of Notting Hill and within a ten-minute walk of High Street Kensington. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink – especially given your enviable position between two fantastic pubs. For picnics and quiet afternoons, Hyde Park is ten minutes away, while Notting Hill Gate tube station is just three minutes around the corner should you fancy a trip into central London.

There were a lot of features about this home that we really loved. While it is a fairly small space, it has been thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind, and your host is also one of the loveliest people we have had the pleasure to meet. The interiors do have a contemporary feel, with the Andy Warhol photography adding character. Accessed via a ladder-style staircase, the bedroom here is on a mezzanine level, so you'll have to be prepared for some mid-stay climbing. The surrounding location is idyllic, with a bohemian vibe and within easy reach of the coveted Notting Hill.

Elegant and sublimely modern, this bright apartment in Chelsea features a beautifully curated interior design and plenty of natural light. Pops of colour in the living room’s cushions and abstract art add a dash of fun to the sophisticated furnishings, while two sets of French doors open up to let the breeze flow through freely. We love that one set of doors opens onto a wrought-iron balcony, a quintessential Kensington touch and makes for an ideal spot for breakfast or sundowners. It’s worth noting the apartment may be a bit of a squeeze for ten guests, but it’s an ideal spot for groups looking to relax after a day of exploring. Tucked down a historic cobbled mews, this home is anything but boring. Don't be fooled by the cottage-core exterior – inside, the design is all about contemporary touches and sleek details. One of our favourite rooms is the main bathroom, which has a soaker tub and two lavish showers. There's also a second (albeit slightly smaller) suite, so nobody will feel left out. Upstairs, the living area opens onto a Juliet balcony with views of the mews, and there's a large kitchen ideal for culinarians. The cherry on top is the location. You're just a stone's throw from Harrods, Hyde Park, and the many eateries and shops in swanky Knightsbridge.

You’ll be striding through bustling Notting Hill in no time at this smart apartment set just a three-minute walk from Notting Hill Gate Tube Station. Take your pick from Portobello Market, Kensington Gardens or Notting Hill Farmers Market – it’s all just a short stroll away. With a private entrance and suntrap patio to call your own, it’s easy to see why this Victorian townhouse apartment caught our eye. It’s worth noting that if six of you share, the last two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge. Not ideal for some, but if you’re a family looking for a bolthole in the city, this could be it.

Just a ten-minute walk from King's Cross St. Pancras, this wonderfully curated home is within easy reach of London’s top cultural sights. The house is set on a gated housing estate, in the heart of a local community with a quiet, traffic-free square out front. Forget stuffy hotels – when you come here it’ll feel like home away from home. Laid out over three floors, it’s full of chic personal touches, like the extensive vinyl record collection, and the pops of plant life in each room.
