You’ll find antique furniture and historic features throughout the castle, but modern home comforts have been added too. The property is a stunning holiday home located in a secluded loch-side setting with breathtaking views of Loch Etive and Glencoe. This spacious six-bedroom home can accommodate up to twelve guests and boasts six bathrooms, making it perfect for holidays with family and friends. The house features a fully enclosed garden, Wi-Fi, an Aga, and ample parking. Guests can access the Loch directly from the garden via a track and boat owners can use the owner's slipway and buoy for an additional charge. Fishing rods and mackerel lines are also available on request. The surrounding area offers many popular destinations such as Inverawe Smokehouse and Shop, Taynuilt village, and Oban, which is about 30 minutes' drive away. Children and dogs are welcome, but guests must be aware that there is a small garden pond at the back of the house and that the property is accessed via a rough forestry track.

From the outside, this Victorian home looks as quaint as quaint can be, but inside, guests will find an apartment that mixes vintage and modern aspects with considerable dexterity. In the living room, a large bay window floods the space with natural daylight, which dances nicely off the wooden floors and walls painted in muted grey. The Persian rug and deep blue sofa add some bold splashes of colour. Elsewhere, we're big fans of the gleaming copper bathtub in the master bathroom that promises to be as comfortable as it is handsome. Off the same room, there's access to a cute terrace with alfresco seating — yes, it's Scotland, but put on a jumper and enjoy the dramatic sunsets that this corner of the country enjoys. The home's only an eight-minute walk from the River Ness and Inverness's town centre, which includes a castle and an art gallery. Alternatively, if you're feeling more active, Cairngorms National Park takes around half an hour to reach in the car.

This majestic mansion, with its ten glamorous bedrooms, offers a completely private retreat just outside of Edinburgh. The home has been in the hands of the Kinloch family for thirteen generations, and the bedrooms' unique names reflect the house's long, aristocratic history. The facade was designed in the classical style by the architect Robert Adam in 1750, and modernised to its current form in the 1820s. Make like Lucy from the Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and explore every corner, while the rest of the family snuggles up in the drawing-room with the log fire burning. The hardest decision you’ll have to make is whether to serve your evening feasts in the oak-lined music room, or the formal dining room. On top of that, there are one hundred acres of garden and woodland to romp around and explore. The house is located in the heart of East Lothian, just outside Athelstaneford and, as the birthplace of the Saltire, Scotland's national flag, the village is entrenched in Scottish history. It's also situated on the famous Golf Coast, close to some of the country's best courses, and you can drive to the city of Edinburgh in just over half an hour.

One of Scotaland’s famous hidden beaches, Gunaird Bay, is also at the end of a fifteen-minute drive.

Cosy and charming, this home in the Cairngorms National Park is ideal for nature lovers. It looks out over the River Don, where you can fish for trout, and is in a great location for hill walking. It’s a former coaching inn dating back to the 18th century so if you’re looking for glitz and glam, this isn’t the home for you. That said, it’s been recently renovated and has all the contemporary comfort you might wish for. Your four-legged friends can even join you – this is a real home-from-home.

On the banks of a secluded loch near Aboyne, this beautiful cabin comes with a beautiful story. It was originally built in the 1920s by Viscountess Cowdray, a close friend of Queen Mary. Choosing it as the perfect spot between her home and the royal estate at Balmoral, it was built so the two women could regularly meet and take tea by the water together. Sitting here, in the peaceful Aberdeenshire countryside, it's not hard to see what attracted them. The setting, overlooking the loch, and surrounded by tall pines is a truly inspirational one, and whether you're here in the middle of summer or the winter, the views from the home are second to none. Despite its rustic charm and rough Scots pine exterior, the cabin has been renovated to create a luxurious home, with antique furnishings, a log fire and vintage art. There's a modern country-style kitchen with everything you could need and two comfortable bedrooms. And who wouldn't fall in love with the huge freestanding copper bathtub in the master bedroom? Outside, hike in the woods, swim from the little jetty, fish in the nearby River Dee or watch wildlife from the veranda – visitors regularly see deer and osprey by the loch.
