The property is a stunning holiday home located in a secluded loch-side setting with breathtaking views of Loch Etive and Glencoe. This spacious six-bedroom home can accommodate up to twelve guests and boasts six bathrooms, making it perfect for holidays with family and friends. The house features a fully enclosed garden, Wi-Fi, an Aga, and ample parking. Guests can access the Loch directly from the garden via a track and boat owners can use the owner's slipway and buoy for an additional charge. Fishing rods and mackerel lines are also available on request. The surrounding area offers many popular destinations such as Inverawe Smokehouse and Shop, Taynuilt village, and Oban, which is about 30 minutes' drive away. Children and dogs are welcome, but guests must be aware that there is a small garden pond at the back of the house and that the property is accessed via a rough forestry track.

This majestic mansion, with its ten glamorous bedrooms, offers a completely private retreat just outside of Edinburgh. The home has been in the hands of the Kinloch family for thirteen generations, and the bedrooms' unique names reflect the house's long, aristocratic history. The facade was designed in the classical style by the architect Robert Adam in 1750, and modernised to its current form in the 1820s. Make like Lucy from the Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and explore every corner, while the rest of the family snuggles up in the drawing-room with the log fire burning. The hardest decision you’ll have to make is whether to serve your evening feasts in the oak-lined music room, or the formal dining room. On top of that, there are one hundred acres of garden and woodland to romp around and explore. The house is located in the heart of East Lothian, just outside Athelstaneford and, as the birthplace of the Saltire, Scotland's national flag, the village is entrenched in Scottish history. Known locally as the Kingdom of Fife, this east coast region of Scotland is awash with historic monuments, ancient towns, sweeping beaches, and fresh sea air. While its heritage speaks volumes, there are of course plenty of built-up areas with everything a modern visitor could need.

Kinghorn offers pubs, traditional chippies, a golf course, and cute cafés, but the standout feature is the huge town hall. This Tudor-Gothic style building was built in 1826, with its ground floors having played the role of council chambers and even a prison. Secret stairways and enormous windows let you admire views of Kinghorn Beach, a seven-minute walk away. But why are we focusing solely on this historic landmark? Well, because this is your home. 

Your apartments are set over the first and second floors, with jaw-dropping, period interiors which feel regal, luxurious, and opulent. Rich red fabrics, elegant cornicing, chandeliers, solid marble fireplaces, antique furniture, gilded mirror frames – we could go on. There’s even a private walled garden at the back, where you can sit out under the stars sipping whisky and looking out over your very own kingdom.

Dating back over 170 years, this beautiful home in the Scottish Borders was updated in 1870 to take on the Scottish Baronial features that gave it its fairytale castle look, but it was only in the late 70s that the incredible vaulted ceiling was discovered and the mezzanine was added to update the home to what it is today. Of course there has been modernisation since to give it the contemporary, but homely, feel and the result is an ambient, open space that encourages rest and relaxation. 

With the windows stretching up to towards the ceiling, there’s plenty of natural light and bookworms will rejoice to find a little home library on the mezzanine where they’re able to curl up with any of the good books on offer. Look out over the lounge from up there and when you get a little cold, head down to kindle the fireplace so you can watch the flames dance between every turn of the page. 

Musicians can retire to the piano room to hone their skills or entertain the rest of the family in style, but not before sitting down for dinner at the chunky oak table. 

Take to the garden as a group, or in isolation, and walk along the sloping paths as you breathe in the fragrant scents of apple, plum and flowering cherry trees of the orchard. You can also do this from the outdoor bench as you nibble on shortbread. 

With a bike shed on site, why not bring along bicycles so you can head out to explore the Borders on two wheels. With golf courses aplenty, fishing opportunities, beautiful landscapes to admire, and plenty more around, you’ll never run out of things to do. Should you choose, however, to just stay home and bask in the tranquillity, well, we certainly won’t blame you.

Fields stretch before you (check out the view from the balcony), yet it’s just three miles to the charming market town of Dunkeld to stock up on supplies and try the local cafes. It’s also a walker and mountain biker’s paradise around these parts – this home has heated bike storage and a boot room. The wood-burner in the living room can warm up frozen toes and the sleek kitchen is equipped with everything you need to fuel up, post-walk. Your host is in the neighbouring farmhouse should you need anything.

New York loft-style meets traditional fishing cottage at this bijou home in Pittenweem. Stepping inside, you can see this place was designed by an award-winning architect. Flagstone floors and the old stone partition wall have been retained as though from the 18th-century, but the kitchen is all sleek units and high-spec appliances. A wood-burner still crackles at the heart of the home, keeping things cosy in the colder months. Upstairs, a plump king-size bed awaits and the traditional old window looks out onto the narrow wynd below. As for location, you’re mere footsteps from Pittenweem’s High Street (about 30, we’ve counted), where you’ll find cafés, craft shops, galleries and a fabulous fish and chip shop. It’s a two-minute walk to the East Neuk's only working harbourfront where you can watch the fishing boats land their catch of lobsters and langoustines, and St Andrews is a twenty-minute drive away.

A living room in rich forest green invites you to leave your wellies by the door and put your feet up at the end of the day. The idyllic village of Lauder is an eight-minute drive away where you’ll find local galleries, coffee shops and a village deli, or make the forty-minute drive to Edinburgh for a day in the city.
