With its waterfront swimming pool and stunning sea views, this villa had us hooked instantly. While the scenery does most of the talking here, don't let that fool you – inside and out, this place is contemporary to its core. The private bar in the games room is a nice spot to chill out indoors, while the patio offers more than enough space to relax in the sunshine. You'll find it in Keratea, a small village on the southeastern edge of the Attica Peninsula. Athens is only 30 kilometres away, so you're well-placed for day trips – not to mention within easy reach of the Aegean coast.

If this knockout sea view doesn't say rest and reset, we don't know what else will. Perched within an acre of private lands in the seafront community of Pefka and offering direct access to the rocky shoreline for seafront strolls, this hideaway is all about peace and seclusion. Inside, the contemporary villa boasting a guest suite may have less Cycladic charm than other homes in our collection. But we'll forgive that for those swoon-worthy panoramas from the sun-kissed terraces and lengthy infinity pool outside. The only downside to all this privacy is that you'll need to hop in the car to seek out the nearby local tavernas and shops. Or blaze a trail into Athens for the afternoon – it's just a forty-minute drive away.

Sparkling sea views, oodles of balconies and a dazzling pool for swims in the sun – what more could you want for a holiday in Greece? Bright, serene and stylish, this modern villa has four floors of contemporary conveniences, from the compact gym and TV lounge downstairs to the light-filled living space on the second floor. There's even an in-house elevator, so you won't need to worry about dragging your baggage up and down all the steps. 

We love a lot about this villa – underfloor heating, mood lighting, rainfall showers – but our favourite has to be the lavish main suite. Set on the entirety of the top floor, not only does it have a jacuzzi tub in the en-suite bathroom, but a private balcony, where you can savour your morning coffee and admire the ebb and flow of the ocean. In the afternoons, sip wine in the sunshine and cool off with a dip in the pool. When you're feeling peckish, rustle up something delicious in the high-spec kitchen and dig in on the grassy courtyard, then make your way out to the many balconies and watch as the sun dips below the horizon.

When you fancy venturing out, it's just a five-minute drive to Althea Beach and thirty minutes to Athens, so you'll have a choice between sand and surf or city sightseeing – we think that's the best of both worlds.

Found on the Athenian Riviera, a stone's throw from Vouliagmeni Beach, this compact apartment is perfect for a small family of beach lovers. But though the sandy shores a ten-minute walk away is a major draw, there's plenty else to experience around here. The Vouliagmeni Lake, with its thermal springs, can be found in minutes, and you can walk to the restaurant-line square of Vouliagmeni in under ten. The home is spacious, bright and well-kept, with a little balcony for alfresco meals and peaceful reading.

Although this home's location on the Athenian Riveria means that there's a colossal amount to see and do nearby, the villa itself feels perfectly secluded — the sort of place where you can glide through the swimming pool, soak up the sunshine on a lounger or cook up a storm on the barbecue with nary a distraction.

The interior is typically Mediterranean in style, with tiled flooring, white walls and large glass windows to maximise upon the plentiful amounts of natural light. That being said, there are a few design touches that add a little luxury, such as the sculpture collection and glass dining table.

This amazing Greek villa is located on the North-East coast of the Island of Kea. The stone house looks out over the beautiful turquoise ocean with a view of the island of Euboea and the coast of Attica. 

The perfect home for relaxing and recovering, why not take so time to lounge in the Greek sunshine and enjoy the warmth of its rays on your skin. Then, slip into the cooling waters of the freshwater swimming pool, and enjoy the stunning views while you float leisurely in the pool. 

Just a six-minute drive to Otzias, you can enjoy the sandy beaches and soothing sound of waves lapping at the shore, or dine in one of the local Tavernas. The village of Vourkari – just an eight-minute drive away – provides an opportunity for not only beach days but also scuba diving experiences. 

Coressia, the island’s port, is just a twelve-minute drive away, while the capital Ioulis is a twenty-five-minute drive away. In Ioulis you will be able to visit the archaeological museum and even see the Lion of Kea – an impressive early Greek stone monument that dates back to the Archaic period. 

What’s more, there is a regular ferry connection between Athens and Kea which takes about an hour, taking you to the Lavrion port. From here, you can drive about fifty-six minutes to Greece’s capital and explore everything Athens has to offer.

The 180-degree ocean views are epic from here. But the buzzy city centre is pleasingly close enough just 4km away. 

The villa is set over four levels, with plenty of space for a gang of eighteen. The vibe is relaxed, with lots of colour and homely touches. Families will especially love it here. Table tennis, giant chess, a playground and basketball facilities mean the kids are well catered for. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can recline with a book by the oh-so-chic infinity pool. Heaven. 

If you can drag yourself away, it’s worth exploring this beautiful island. Your nearest beach is Marathonas – its shallow water makes it a great spot for little ones to swim. Or don your best hiking shoes and explore the nature-rich mountains where there are ancient chapels to discover. 

Then head home, fire up the built-in barbecue and feast with your loved ones as the sun sets over the ocean.

Perched on a hilltop skirting the fishing village of Kilada, this villa is a bright and contemporary way to explore the historic Peloponnese. Visit the ancient Greek city of Mycenae or watch a theatrical performance in the Epidavros. Closer to home, you'll spot fish taverns and cafes, but with Doroufi and Vrochitsa both only 400m away, the beach might be your first stop. Now that's what we call a view. Overlooking the village of Vourkari and the Aegean Sea, the terrace makes the perfect perch for a morning coffee or a glass of wine. You'll love watching the mainland-bound ferries glide by – and the sunsets here are stunning. Inside certainly doesn't possess the same wow factor – in fairness, it's hard to beat those postcard-worthy panoramas – but we think the fuss-free space will do the job for a family or a small group of friends seeking a relaxing retreat. Moreover, private parking makes exploring Kea a breeze – if you can pull yourself away from the views, that is.

Vourkari Viewpoint

The beach calls at this delightfully rustic yet chic villa on the coast of Andros. It’s just a short pad down to the sandy bay where loungers await on soft sand and a cute little taverna serves cold drinks. The main town of Andros (Chora) is just a short, four kilometres drive away too for boutiques and restaurants in picturesque narrow streets.

But spending all your days at this villa isn’t such a bad idea, especially when you’ve got a view like this – over the rugged coastline and the sparkling Aegean Sea. The decor embraces its beachy locale with wicker lampshades hung from white-wood pergolas outside, a smooth stone sofa in the corner and a sprawling day bed perfect for stargazing.
