It's fair to say that each of the Greek islands has a distinct identity and Spetses appeals to those fond of the finer things in life, with plenty of high-end restaurants and boutiques dotted across the map. You'll also find some rather impressive villas, such as this majestic home.

Spread across three floors, the star of the show has to be the swimming pool surrounded by a terrace with loungers on which to dry off after a dip. We love the central cantilever staircase, the sunken terrace that merges with the infinity pool and the sleek interiors – it’s a unique spot to share Greek feasts and while away the days under the Ionian sun.

With sweeping sea views and a sun-kissed terrace just inviting you to kick back and relax, you’ll leave this suite feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It’s worth bearing in mind that the terrace and swimming pool are shared with the building’s other residents. These are situated just outside the living room where two guests will sleep at capacity, so if you prefer a bit more privacy this may not quite tick all your holiday boxes. Location-wise though, if the glittering blue vistas tempt you to the sea, you’ll find the beaches of Stoupa and Pantazis in Agios Nikolaos just five minutes away by car.

Looking out over the Corinthian Gulf, sitting on the balcony at this stylish villa is like having an amphitheatre seat overlooking one of mother nature’s greatest shows. Especially at sunset. Take the short drive over to Almiros Beach for a dip in the warm Mediterranean then nip over to Kalamata for its picturesque old town, selection of museums and long stretch of golden sand. Come evening, pick out a local restaurant for traditional dishes or return home for a slap-up barbecue and a couple of glasses of wine at sundown.
