Bright, serene and stylish, this modern villa has four floors of contemporary conveniences, from the compact gym and TV lounge downstairs to the light-filled living space on the second floor. There's even an in-house elevator, so you won't need to worry about dragging your baggage up and down all the steps. 

We love a lot about this villa – underfloor heating, mood lighting, rainfall showers – but our favourite has to be the lavish main suite. Set on the entirety of the top floor, not only does it have a jacuzzi tub in the en-suite bathroom, but a private balcony, where you can savour your morning coffee and admire the ebb and flow of the ocean. In the afternoons, sip wine in the sunshine and cool off with a dip in the pool. When you're feeling peckish, rustle up something delicious in the high-spec kitchen and dig in on the grassy courtyard, then make your way out to the many balconies and watch as the sun dips below the horizon.

When you fancy venturing out, it's just a five-minute drive to Althea Beach and thirty minutes to Athens, so you'll have a choice between sand and surf or city sightseeing – we think that's the best of both worlds.

Surrounded by lush vegetation — including trees growing olives, almonds, pears and lemons — it also has the added perk of having direct access to a secluded beach.

Part of a collection of five villas, this home makes the most of its beautiful position with a long terrace area containing an alfresco dining table, a couple of loungers and even a giant chess set. The interior has plenty of glass doors and large windows so you can still marvel at the scenery from inside, too. We're big fans of the decor, which is contemporary in style but subtle and unshowy about it.

As well as Kissakas beach almost quite literally on your doorstep, there are further seaside options a short drive away — like Tserfos just over a quarter of an hour's drive — as well as plenty of hiking routes and the town of Leonidio about fifteen minutes away in the car.

Or potter down to the peaceful beach where loungers are waiting. 

Inside, expect some ultra-cool styling. Bold prints on the wall and wood floors keep things homely and welcoming. Bedrooms are roomy and come with en-suites and ocean views. Whip up a feast in one of two kitchens, or fire up the barbecue.

Spend days swimming in the sea or lounging poolside. If you can drag yourself away, Anthidona is your nearest village, 2km away. Or head a little further to Eretria (25kn) for a dose of history.

Andros’ location in the north of the Cyclades islands is perfectly suited for action-packed, island-hopping holidays, as well as beachside bliss. With mountains and valleys, it’s also wonderful for hiking, or can equally offer you a bustling afternoon in its capital – Andros Town.

Set in grounds that were once teeming with agricultural workers, this traditional ‘konaki’ home used to play host to tired farmhands. But that old-time hospitality certainly hasn’t gone away. In fact, it’s simply been brought up to date. For a modern-day version, you've got a secluded courtyard with a swimming pool and hot tub, built from local rock. You might not have been tilling the fields, but you still deserve some relaxation. 

Inside its stone walls, traditional interiors make for a cosy, country escape. Rich, timber beams line the ceilings, and rustic wooden furniture sits majestically in the living space. Other quintessentially Greek features include woven decorations and a chunky stone shower – and of course views out to the striking blue sea, which you can admire from the comfort of your private verandah.

Built from traditional stone, this kind of building is called ‘Peristerionas’ by the locals, a Greek word for the doves or pigeons who would have nested in the dovecote-style walls. Nest yourself in this home for a comfortable and cosy holiday surrounded by Cycladic nature, and catch the soft aromas of wild thyme, oregano and salty ocean air drifting to you in the breeze. Spend quiet days lounging by the pool with a good book before you take a dip in the cool waters of the pool or even unwind in the soothing bubbles of the jacuzzi. 

Take full advantage of the three private verandas this home offers and breakfast, lunch and dinner with an amazing view of the ocean. Spend days beside the sea, treading the soft sands, which can be reached within ten to fifteen minutes by car. Or venture further out to Andros Port twenty-five kilometres away, from which you can admire the amazing Tourlitis Lighthouse. 

In the evening, we would highly recommend dining in one of the tavernas in Korthi Bay, just nine kilometres away, to experience the delicious local and traditional cuisine on offer. Pamper yourself with the organic toiletries before settling in for a great night's sleep on the mattress which is designed to support seven zones of your body, and wake up refreshed the next morning for another blissful day of relaxation.

With an idyllic setting, just a three-minute stroll from the long sandy beach of Ganema, this villa with stunning Aegean Sea views is the perfect Greek retreat. A little further afield, the scenic main town of Serifos, home to charming sugar-cubed houses, is around 8 miles away, while Livadi Port and a smattering of seafront restaurants is under a fifteen-minute drive. This small, ruggedly beautiful island is a hidden gem with its steadfast traditions, majestic mountains and pristine, tamarisk-fringed beaches.

You don't have to go anywhere for vistas of golden sands and sparkling azure waters, though. Just take a seat on the terrace or relax in the hammock – our favourite spot at sunset. Sip some tsipouro (your friendly hosts provide a bottle in your welcome hamper) between bites of Greek meze as the day turns to night. Then, spend the evening gazing at a sky full of diamond-like stars. Inside this home, there are beautiful character features, such as stone walls, beamed ceilings, and outlooks to the dreamy seascape. This place is ideal for a family or group of friends who want to get away from it all.

If you’re on the lookout for a super-house for multiple families, in a spectacular island setting, this is it. Standing high on a hill on stunning Aegina Island, the home is perfectly placed. The 180-degree ocean views are epic from here. But the buzzy city centre is pleasingly close enough just 4km away. 

The villa is set over four levels, with plenty of space for a gang of eighteen. The vibe is relaxed, with lots of colour and homely touches. Families will especially love it here. Table tennis, giant chess, a playground and basketball facilities mean the kids are well catered for. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can recline with a book by the oh-so-chic infinity pool. Heaven. 

If you can drag yourself away, it’s worth exploring this beautiful island. Your nearest beach is Marathonas – its shallow water makes it a great spot for little ones to swim. Or don your best hiking shoes and explore the nature-rich mountains where there are ancient chapels to discover. 

Then head home, fire up the built-in barbecue and feast with your loved ones as the sun sets over the ocean.

This stunning villa in the village of Saronida can accommodate up to 14 guests across three floors. We love the unique decor of this home, as well as the incredible unobstructed views you'll get across the Greek countryside. Those lucky enough to snap up the main bedroom will get fantastic sea views from their own private balcony too. The large veranda is a wonderful space for alfresco dining and if you stay here in the cooler months, there are a couple of fireplaces to keep you warm. Guests will have full access to the lush and well-tended gardens, as well as a private swimming pool. We suggest a car for ease – the nearest beach is 2.3 km away.

The perfect home for relaxing and recovering, why not take so time to lounge in the Greek sunshine and enjoy the warmth of its rays on your skin. Then, slip into the cooling waters of the freshwater swimming pool, and enjoy the stunning views while you float leisurely in the pool. 

Just a six-minute drive to Otzias, you can enjoy the sandy beaches and soothing sound of waves lapping at the shore, or dine in one of the local Tavernas. The village of Vourkari – just an eight-minute drive away – provides an opportunity for not only beach days but also scuba diving experiences. 

Coressia, the island’s port, is just a twelve-minute drive away, while the capital Ioulis is a twenty-five-minute drive away. In Ioulis you will be able to visit the archaeological museum and even see the Lion of Kea – an impressive early Greek stone monument that dates back to the Archaic period. 

What’s more, there is a regular ferry connection between Athens and Kea which takes about an hour, taking you to the Lavrion port. From here, you can drive about fifty-six minutes to Greece’s capital and explore everything Athens has to offer. 

After all your exploring, return home to the villa in the evening and cook some delicious souvlaki on the barbecue before dining alfresco as you enjoy the sun setting over the vista.

Although this home's location on the Athenian Riveria means that there's a colossal amount to see and do nearby, the villa itself feels perfectly secluded — the sort of place where you can glide through the swimming pool, soak up the sunshine on a lounger or cook up a storm on the barbecue with nary a distraction.

The interior is typically Mediterranean in style, with tiled flooring, white walls and large glass windows to maximise upon the plentiful amounts of natural light. That being said, there are a few design touches that add a little luxury, such as the sculpture collection and glass dining table.

If you're partial to a day at the seaside, you're in luck — Limani Passa and the 500-metre long Pountazeza take ten and fifteen minutes to reach on foot respectively. The Temple of Poseidon is an eleven-minute drive down the coastline, as well.

Perched on a hill just south of Ramos village, this stone-built home offers a tranquil retreat on the unspoiled island of Serifos. Loungers on the beautiful stone patio look out over hilltops to the sparkling sea, and views don’t get much better than from the covered rooftop terrace. Days can be spent playing boules in the sunshine or perhaps a friendly game of basketball on the court. Then there are the sunsets, simply stunning from the cool waters of the infinity-edge pool.

Sunny Serifos boasts over seventy beaches and is an untouched beauty. This villa’s many windows showcase spectacular views of the Aegean Sea and out to neighbouring islands – sitting on the pretty stone terrace gives you the chance to plan your stay, using the panoramic view as a map of sorts. 

You’ll want to explore some of the many beaches within walking distance of the villa. Is there anything better than strolling along soft white sand as the sea rolls over your feet? After a day in the surf, walk to Livadi. Take a seat at one of the restaurant tables overlooking the harbour, and eat, drink and be merry. If watching the boats and yachts sail into port inspires you, perhaps you’ll head out on a boat tour of the coast. 

For truly spectacular views, visit the Chora. This mountain-top capital sits 200m above sea level and can be reached in fifteen minutes by car. Watch the sun set over the sea and feel your stresses melt away.
