Home on the Green

Bright and breezy, this charming villa is an excellent place to call home. Ten minutes south lies Limnonari Beach, a gorgeous stretch of sand flanked by verdant green mountains. Ten minutes west is Skopelos Town, home to chic restaurants, lively bars and a pretty harbour with waterfront eateries. As far as locales go, it's the best of both worlds – close to the action but promising plenty of peace and quiet back at home.

Speaking of peace, the garden is the definition of relaxing. There are plenty of spots to soak up the sunshine. Chill out with a cocktail on the sun loungers, enjoy an afternoon dip in the pool or just while away lazy days underneath the shade of the pergola on the built-in sofas. The interior is bright, with a fully-equipped kitchen, lavish bathrooms and Netflix on all the TVs for when you fancy a movie night. In the evenings, share a bottle of local wine as the sun goes down and watch the stars come out in the outdoor dining area. Trust us — you won't find a better spot to watch the night roll in.

One of a collection of four villas in the middle of the island of Alonissos, this home's surroundings couldn't be more Mediterranean if they tried – olive trees, herb bushes and rocky terrain fill the garden, while the dazzling blue Aegean Sea stretches out to the distant horizon.

There are plenty of spots from which to appreciate this dreamy landscape. On hot days, the infinity swimming pool will likely be the top choice, but the loungers on the terrace enjoy an equally lovely vantage point. As well as that, there are a pair of balconies on the home's first floor which also offer a superb panorama.

That's quite enough about views, though. Behind the villa's yellow walls, you'll find an interior that combines rustic features and earthy colours with enough contemporary flourishes, like the flowery armchair and abstract artworks, to stop it from feeling dated. One of our favourite features is the pair of Jacuzzi tubs in the bathrooms that makes it easier than ever to completely switch off and relax.

Of course, there's only so long that you can gaze at the sea before the temptation to go for a swim proves too much. Fortunately, the nearest beach – Tourkoneri – is only seven minutes' drive away. The port town of Patitiri is only ten minutes away too when you fancy a meal out in a seafront restaurant. 


Olive Laugh Love

Live like a Greek god in this beautiful home, located in a prestigious resort in Pefkochori. Not only is there plenty of space and style, but it also has some serious green credentials – the villa is powered by solar panels. 

The interior is simple yet chic, and makes use of natural, locally sourced materials. Step onto the balcony, and you'll find that the calming ambiance continues – it's the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee. On the ground floor, you can make a splash in the swimming pool when the temperature rises, take a dip in the Jacuzzi, or soak up the sun on a lounger. And, when the evening rolls around, serve up a grilled feast from the barbeque to enjoy at the alfresco dining table. 

The water's edge is just 150m away from your front door, and Pefkochori Beach's blue flag makes it an excellent place to swim. The clear water means it's a good spot for snorkelling, and when you get hungry there are local tavernas lining the promenade. And, if you fancy exploring further afield, head inland to find hilltop churches, quaint Greek villages, and some excellent hiking trails. 

Violet Petals

A collection of three villas sitting atop a hilltop on the island of Skelopos, this address has a few aces up its sleeve. The first has to be the incredible 360-degree views, which take in the dazzlingly blue Aegean Sea, the village of Glossa and mountains covered in pine forests.

Thankfully, there are plenty of spots from which to enjoy this spectacular panorama, including a selection of covered terraces and the swimming pool in the middle of the outdoor space. You can even appreciate the scenery while indoors thanks to the large windows in each home. When you get around to giving it a closer look, you'll notice that the design throughout all three has a rustic charm, with wooden ceiling beams and earthy tones making for an atmosphere conducive to relaxation.

Although there's certainly an air of tranquillity at the address, it doesn't take too long to reach somewhere with a bit more life. The cafes and restaurants of Glossa take just over five minutes to reach in the car, while Loutraki Beach is a twelve-minute drive.




Terrapin Shell

This cosy villa has its own private pool and terrace, and is only a stone's throw from the sea. Part of a complex of maisonettes, you might hear some noise from other residents during your stay. You'll have your own private entrance though, and the ground-floor bedroom makes this home suitable for guests with limited mobility. The complex has a dedicated car park, and we do recommend hiring a car for your stay. While you're right near the sea, the nearest sandy beach is Nea Skioni, a short drive up the road.

This gorgeous little villa apartment overlooks the glittering Aegean sea, and is perfect for those who want somewhere that's just as cosy as it is beautiful. Surrounded by spectacular views, you'll be rearing to explore Skiathos Island. Set in a complex of two villas, both bedrooms in this home have their own private entrances, with a common sitting and dining area and a sea view that will make you never want to look away. Enjoy home-cooked meals as you gaze out at the Aegean horizon, whether you whip up a small snack with the well-equipped kitchenette inside the living space or ask your host to deliver you some wonderful local meals to try. Although there is another villa in this complex, it has its own private pool so you'll have this one all to yourself. Go for a dip, rinse off with the outdoor shower and dry off on the sun loungers as the Greek sun beats down.

This home lends itself perfectly to those who are hoping to explore the beauty and magic of this island and the rest of the Sporades archipelago. There's plenty to do, from water sports at the beaches on the island's southern side where you can try your hand at paragliding and waterskiing, to hiking through the lush countryside and seeing sights you'll never forget. You may not be able to cook up any feasts at the villa, but you won't have to – you'll be close to some fantastic restaurants and bars, where you can discover your new favourite meal.

Journey of a Thousand Miles

A stone's throw from the sea, this villa has an independent apartment on the ground floor and step access to the rest of the home. Part of a complex of maisonettes, you won't have perfect privacy and you may hear some noise from neighbours during your stay. But there are plenty of spots to relax both indoors and out with the private pool and space for alfresco dining. While you'll be right by the sea, you'll have to drive a short way up the road to the nearest sandy beach, which is the gorgeous Nea Skioni beach.

This charming little home makes for a wonderful romantic break in Greece. You’ll find this villa just outside of Patitiri in the south of Alonnisos. Sweeping views combine with the boutique feel of the decor to make this home unique, and a stay here memorable for all the right reasons. 

Wake up and take in the beautiful views from the bedroom window before moving out to the terrace. As you drink your coffee and nibble on local pastries, plan how to spend your day. 

The lively port town of Patitiri is just ten minutes away by car. You could rent a boat and go sailing, or even take a coastal tour on a yacht. Steni Vala is a wonderful fishing village nearby – an eleven-minute drive. There you’ll find incredible seafood restaurants and a seascape dotted with fishing boats. The beach is just four minutes away in the car, or you can stroll there in twenty minutes and take in more of the villa’s lush surroundings. The restaurant and cafe at the beach serve excellent food so you can really make a day of it. 

An afternoon by the freshwater pool here is rewarded with glorious views and a pretty pergola to shelter under if you need a break from the sun. The covered dining area is lovely in the evening when the sun is setting. When the stars come out, take a seat on the terrace and spot constellations until the early hours.  


Vines On The Veranda

Standing on the terrace of this lovely home, it’s difficult to look away from the view. The Aegean Sea sparkles in the sunlight, with neighbouring islands the only interruption to the seascape. This villa sits on a verdant hillside in sunny Skiathos and it’s an all-round winner. 

One glimpse at the outside area and it’s easy to see how you’ll spend your stay. Plunge into the pool first thing, then sit with a coffee and breakfast under the veranda. The views really are captivating, so don’t expect to be able to get much heavy reading done – we constantly found our gaze being pulled towards the sea. 

There are two beaches – Megali Ammos and Vassilias – within six minutes of the villa. We liked to stroll along mid-morning, which gave us the perfect excuse to shelter from the hottest sun in a taverna, sampling local seafood and crisp white wine for lunch. 

The town centre and its shops, bars and restaurants are just ten minutes away by car. History buffs in your group might like to drive eighteen minutes to Skiathos Castle. This medieval site is now a ruin but was once a key settlement on the island – the stone ruins look especially dramatic on the rugged coastline and the views are magnificent. 


Peach Hues & Blue Views

With views of the impossibly blue Aegean Sea, a shimmering pool, hot tub and a sun-trap terrace for all-day dining, this laidback villa is the ideal gathering place for friends and families. 

Begin mornings with a cup of coffee on your bedroom’s private balcony before knocking up a tasty breakfast in the vibrant kitchen – the pops of cherry red will certainly put a spring in your step. Slip outside to while away the hours with a good book on a comfy lounger. And when you’re ready to turn the relaxation up a notch, you’ve access to the resort’s spa and indoor saltwater pool. 

At lunchtime, come together for a sizzling barbecue feast, or head into Chaniotis to sample local cuisine in traditional tavernas. Stroll along the Blue Flag sands of Hanioti Beach and find a quiet spot to watch the waves gently lap the shore.
