There isn’t a swimming pool here, but it does have a balcony and a terrace with a barbecue – perfect for alfresco dining. Your host can also help organise a range of extra services, including massage treatments, guided island tours and car rentals. Housekeeping is included in your stay, plus you’ll find a welcome basket provided for your arrival. And for a taste of the island’s vibrant spirit, head to Naxos town – just 16 kilometres away.

In a privileged position overlooking the Aegean Sea, this quaint whitewashed villa with mint green accents is all about slow Mediterranean living. Should you want to take a break from the heat, the homespun living space is the perfect place to unwind with a refreshing beverage. We loved the tiled floors and soothing cream colour scheme. 

Spend afternoons relaxing on the beach just 150 metres from your abode or stretch your legs with a twenty-minute stroll to the sandy shores of Agios Prokopios. If you’re in the mood for history and culture, the port town of Naxos is a ten-minute drive away. Admire the Venetian architecture, visit the Archaeological Museum and fill up on local fare in a family-run taverna.

Perched on a hilltop within walking distance of Agios Prokopios Beach and a short car ride from Naxos, this room offers a restful stay for a couple or solo traveller. There’s no kitchen here, so you’ll need to head out at mealtimes. Fortunately, there are plenty of tavernas within driving distance of your doorstep. Our favourite feature was the terrace – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool, especially after a nap on the loungers.

Wake up each morning to sunlight streaming into the calm villa, with its exposed stone walls, simple white colour palette, and natural wood touches. Prepare breakfast to enjoy out on the terrace, before slipping into the private pool for a dip. Happily, you’re just a short walk from the beach so you’re unlikely to spend much time inside. Naxos town is only 10 kilometres away, too, ideal for evenings out.

Just five minutes by car from Naxos Town, you’ll find this villa – explore the maze of streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants. This desirable location is also close to some of the best beaches in Naxos including Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna. If you prefer to relax by your private pool or in the Jacuzzi at this villa, we wouldn’t blame you. There’s also a fantastic roof terrace with Aegean Sea views, as well as wonderful vistas of Naxos Town and Portara.

This villa might be on the outskirts of Naxos Town, within easy walking distance of all waterfront bars, restaurants and traditional tavernas, but it’s blissfully quiet. That could be because it’s a bit like a palace, set in oodles of gardens. The design is traditionally Cycladic with smooth, white stone hewn into towers and walls. We love the moat-like swimming pool that surrounds a stone terrace accessed by a humped bridge. Wooden decks and raised stone patios house beanbag chairs, loungers and stone sofas shaded by macrame parasols. 

This place was made for entertaining, with a sleek taverna-like bar and semi-open kitchen the ideal spot for drinks and meals in the open air. Stone archways lead to raised lounges with Moroccan-style sofas and there’s a second kitchen with an old fireplace and pots and pans hanging from the centre island like the kitchens of old Greece. Bedrooms are pure romance, with candle-filled alcoves and Cycladic tradition radiating from thick stone walls. Those who value privacy above all else can opt for the separate guest cottage in the gardens.

It's five minutes on foot to the centre of Naxos Town, and also a five-minute walk to the crystal shallows of St George Beach, perfect for swimming.

It’s modern and pretty, and is spread over three floors so you won’t feel crowded – though it might not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Outside, the poolside terrace has a delightful alfresco dining area. This home is away from the hustle and bustle of the town so is ideal for those looking to relax – this isn’t a party house. You can stroll easily to Paralia Glifada, but you’ll need a car to get around further.

For starters, we love the design – simple Cycladic architecture effortlessly blends with modern style to create a relaxing sanctuary. Both bedrooms feature sumptuous mattresses and private bathrooms – there's a lush bathtub and a sunny balcony in the main suite – while the kitchen is well-stocked for cooking Grecian delicacies. Outside on the terrace, a refreshing pool is perfect for afternoon dips, a pergola-covered dining area is fit for alfresco feasts and lounge chairs make the most of the endless sunshine. As the day draws to a close, the sky is painted pink and purple, creating a heavenly backdrop for cocktail hours and family dinners.

Best of all is the location, right on the outskirts of buzzing Naxos Town (known as Chora to the locals) – you'll find restaurants, cafes and boutiques aplenty tucked along the town's narrow lanes. The Blue Flag-awarded Aghios Georgios beach is a twenty-minute stroll away if sun-bathing and swimming are on your to-do list. But, if you prefer a bit more activity, Laguna Beach (fifteen minutes on foot) is a haven for windsurfing.

With a lovely outdoor area, perfect for enjoying alfresco meals and catching the rays, the place is a good fit for families or groups of friends. There are even some herb beds in the garden, in case you feel like rustling up a family feast. Note that there are some stairs inside the home so children will need to be supervised.
