This monochrome delight in the centre of Thessaloniki first caught our attention with its cool and consistent colour scheme. We especially love the sleek black kitchen, ideal for the budding chefs in the group, and the balcony with its view of the local area. Unfortunately, there isn't enough sofa space for everyone in the living room, but the home's excellent location means you'll have plenty of excuses to head out – you'll find a myriad of parks, museums and restaurants just a short stroll away.

At The Sea's Shore

Exploring the UNESCO city of Thessaloniki and other Northern Greece gems is a cinch from this pocket-sized studio apartment. You're within easy walking distance of Thessaloniki train station, and there's free street parking right outside. Granted, the kitchenette is small, but it's surprisingly well-equipped. The private balcony for evening drinks is a nice touch too. It's worth noting, though, if three of you share, the last guest will have to make do with a sofa bed –⁠ so privacy and space are lacking here. Expect to pay a small fee for your initial supply of bedding and towels, too.

This practical studio apartment is ideal for a couple or solo traveller looking to explore Thessaloniki’s sights. And, thanks to the dedicated desk space, it’s perfect for those in town on business too. While space is limited and the kitchenette is best suited to light bites due to its lack of oven, the home’s location puts you within easy reach of plenty of must-sees, including the Church of the Holy Apostles, Aristotelous Square and the Roman Forum of Thessaloniki. With your host able to provide lots of local recommendations, as well as a plethora of extras like massages, sailing trips and activity-filled excursions, you’re in for a memorable stay.  


Daskalos

You'll find this apartment in the heart of Thessaloniki. Restaurants on your doorstep, landmarks within walking distance, the sea only a short stroll away – how's that for a top-notch location? The apartment itself isn't bad, either. We like the jungle themed-design, and although some rooms are a little dated (namely the bathroom), there's a decent amount of space here for families and friends. But our favourite is the small balcony overlooking the street – it's the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine in the salt-tinged air.

If easy access to the beach is top of your holiday wishlist, then it doesn't get much easier than this. Located just a few steps away from a gorgeous sandy shoreline, this home in Halkidiki is the perfect beachfront retreat for those craving a dose of Vitamin Sea. 

Step inside, and you'll feel a sense of calm in every corner of the villa. The gorgeous blue colour scheme reminds you that the water is right at the bottom of the garden, while the white beams and exposed stone echo traditional Greek architecture. Meals are best enjoyed outside on the terrace, under the shade of the pergola, as you breathe in the fresh sea air. And, as night falls, you can listen to music on the outdoor sound system and enjoy a bottle of wine together in perfect peace. 

The nearby beach has soft white sand and sparkling clear water – you could spend an eternity here swimming and soaking up the sun. However, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area if you fancy a change of scene. Ierissos village is only 5km away, where you'll find charming tavernas serving up fresh seafood. You can also hop on a boat to visit the pretty island of Ammoulliani, and holy Mount Athos is only a 25-minute drive away.

A stone's throw from the sea, this villa has an independent apartment on the ground floor and step access to the rest of the home. Part of a complex of maisonettes, you won't have perfect privacy and you may hear some noise from neighbours during your stay. But there are plenty of spots to relax both indoors and out with the private pool and space for alfresco dining. While you'll be right by the sea, you'll have to drive a short way up the road to the nearest sandy beach, which is the gorgeous Nea Skioni beach.

White Horizon

With views of the impossibly blue Aegean Sea, a shimmering pool, hot tub and a sun-trap terrace for all-day dining, this laidback villa is the ideal gathering place for friends and families. 

Begin mornings with a cup of coffee on your bedroom’s private balcony before knocking up a tasty breakfast in the vibrant kitchen – the pops of cherry red will certainly put a spring in your step. Slip outside to while away the hours with a good book on a comfy lounger. And when you’re ready to turn the relaxation up a notch, you’ve access to the resort’s spa and indoor saltwater pool.

A short drive away from Kallithea sits the tiny village of Afytos. More laid-back than other towns in Halkidiki, it's a great spot for a low-key getaway – and it's where you'll find this pet-friendly apartment. Perched on the cliffs overlooking the sea, the private terrace is ideal for soaking up the sunshine and scenery. It's part of a resort, so you'll also have access to a communal swimming pool (open seasonally) and the small bay at the base of the (very steep) hill. The interiors are a little lacklustre and veer towards dated, but the location speaks for itself. Your host is also happy to arrange excursions, boat trips and other fun-filled activities for a fee.

This villa is something special indeed. You can live out your castaway fantasies on uninhabited Disporos Island, just off the coast of the Halkidiki Peninsula. The only way to get here is by boat or kayak from the mainland, but don’t worry – there’s a private jetty and horseshoe of private beach for that. You can cover the length of the island on foot in half an hour, through fragrant pine forests and past sandy beaches.

But being a castaway here doesn’t mean roughing it; this villa is pure luxury, from the double day beds by the swimming pool to the whirlpool bath overlooking the private beach and Jacuzzi tub on the terrace. There a plenty of shaded and sunny spots across the terraces and patio to dine, recline and steal away for a private moment. Those that want to keep on top of their fitness game can make use of the state-of-the-art equipment outdoors.

Apart from the fully-equipped bar area outside, you’ve also got a wine cellar inside, letting you know that this place is all about having a good time and unwinding. The main villa is all glass and white, letting the natural surroundings take pride of place in every room. Floor-to-ceiling windows and doors look out over palm trees and the sea. A palette of dove grey is livened up with sea-glass accents and sleek bookshelves. As well as luxurious bedrooms in the main villa, there’s an extra garden apartment with its own living area for those that like a little more seclusion from the group.

A functional apartment in central Thessaloniki with style to spare, we think this home is perfect for families or friends looking to spend an extended period in the city or who want a short city break. With all the amenities you'll need, you won't have to dine out every night nor use a laundrette here. Within a two-kilometre radius, you'll find Aristotelous Square, the White Tower of Thessaloniki, and Ladadika, making the home a great base to explore the city. 

The Greek Hymn

This cosy villa has its own private pool and terrace, and is only a stone's throw from the sea. Part of a complex of maisonettes, you might hear some noise from other residents during your stay. You'll have your own private entrance though, and the ground-floor bedroom makes this home suitable for guests with limited mobility. The complex has a dedicated car park, and we do recommend hiring a car for your stay. While you're right near the sea, the nearest sandy beach is Nea Skioni, a short drive up the road.

Greek Griddle

Live like a Greek god in this beautiful home, located in a prestigious resort in Pefkochori. Not only is there plenty of space and style, but it also has some serious green credentials – the villa is powered by solar panels. 

The interior is simple yet chic, and makes use of natural, locally sourced materials. Step onto the balcony, and you'll find that the calming ambiance continues – it's the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee. On the ground floor, you can make a splash in the swimming pool when the temperature rises, take a dip in the Jacuzzi, or soak up the sun on a lounger. And, when the evening rolls around, serve up a grilled feast from the barbeque to enjoy at the alfresco dining table. 

The water's edge is just 150m away from your front door, and Pefkochori Beach's blue flag makes it an excellent place to swim. The clear water means it's a good spot for snorkelling, and when you get hungry there are local tavernas lining the promenade. And, if you fancy exploring further afield, head inland to find hilltop churches, quaint Greek villages, and some excellent hiking trails.

Sitting atop of Toroneos Bay, this beautifully appointed villa offers all of the luxury perks of a five-star resort alongside private use of your own sea-facing infinity pool and deck area, so you can unwind and experience the Halkidiki coast however you please. 

Take it easy in the comfort of your villa – perhaps you'll swim a few leisurely laps before picking out a sun lounger to while away the afternoon, or flop down with a book on the shaded terrace. Inside, you'll find typically whitewashed walls, wood floors and homespun furniture that creates breezy, minimalist interiors. We particularly love the authentic Greek artwork adorning the walls as well as the Grecian urns, adding plenty of visual interest to the living space. 

While you could easily spend the entire day hanging out at home, we recommend you take a two-minute wander down to the soft sands and crystal-clear waters. You'll have everything needed for a relaxing beach day, including your very own private section with reserved sunbeds and parasols awaiting your arrival. 

Alternatively, explore the charming village of Paliouri, just 2.5km away or drive fifteen minutes to lively Chanioti for a change of scenery and an exciting little town with plenty of fantastic tavernas and quiant shops. After a day of sightseeing, ensure you book a massage or a beauty treatment back at the on-site spa to get that healthy holiday glow, before heading to the resort bar to watch the sunset with a chilled drink in hand. 

Grecian Grace

This home couldn’t be more ideally located. Set on Kassandra’s east coast, a short drive from both Pefkohori and Chaniotis, this villa offers the best of both worlds. While the interior is simple and the bedrooms are stripped-back, the place is well-equipped and certainly comfortable. Outside, there’s a barbecue and a covered terrace for alfresco dining. There isn’t a swimming pool here, but the beach is only a short walk away, so you’ll still keep cool on scorching days.

Mediterranean Mellow

Situated along the Old Port, this modern pad places you in a prime position for exploring ancient Thessaloniki. Whether you've taken a short drive to the beach or hit the nearby shops, bars and tavernas, there's plenty of room for your group to sprawl out and relax here after a day of exploring. Inside, it's not the most soulful or inspiring space, but it's practical and fully equipped for a fuss-free stay. The kitchenette is suitable for preparing light bites when you're not out sampling the local cuisine. And, you'll have access to a private terrace, which may not offer the best views, though we still think it's a charming spot to enjoy your evening glass of wine. 

Thessaloniki Delight

Situated in Pefkochori, within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and tavernas, this home is designed for families, newlyweds and groups of friends. The abode is located in a complex with three other villas in close proximity, so there may be little privacy. Inside, space is tight for a group of ten, so the place is better suited for those who like to spend their time in the sunshine. Outside, there’s a pool and a well-kept garden with a terrace for both dining and relaxing.

From dipping your toes in the warm waters, it’s less than a minute back to your three-floored, modern villa. From an elegant exterior of white walls and wooden panels, olive trees and lush lawns surround this 21st-century palace, letting nature in through enormous glass doors and windows. 

Step in from the garden with a chilled glass of local wine in hand, to admire the fresh, minimalist decor in the living space. Its colour scheme of beige, cream, and wooden features creates a zen-like atmosphere, continuing up the spiral staircase and into every bedroom. And from up on these tranquil balconies, you can survey your kingdom of seas, mountains, islands, and beaches beyond.

Ancient Modernity

This delightful villa is part of a complex of eight homes in the beautiful village of Hanioti. There are shared facilities including a gym and indoor pool, but you’ll also have your own outdoor pool and garden to enjoy. The neighbouring villas are fairly close to this home so it’s not entirely private, but you’ll have everything you need for a comfortable stay in Greece. The best feature of this villa is undoubtedly the view – you’ll likely spend all of your time gazing out to sea here. If you can tear your gaze away, the nearest beach is just five minutes away. 

Luxury in the Hills

On the famous Halkidiki peninsula, this lavish villa sits within an exclusive resort with bags of amenities on its doorstep. Separated into two distinct maisonettes, this villa in Metamorfosi is ideal for multigenerational families or groups looking for a bit more autonomy. Laid out over three floors and boasting multiple terraces and a private lawn, there’s plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy the sweeping sea views. While the decor inside isn’t half as impressive as the blue vistas outside, you’ll find, nonetheless, plenty of comfort in its contemporary style and outdoor living amenities. What’s more, Metamorfosi Beach is just across the street (20 metres away), while Metamorfosi’s many shops, supermarkets and beach bars can easily be reached on foot, 300 metres from home. 


Ode to Apollo

Charming and tranquil, this Scandi-style home sits in the heart of the historic city of Thessaloniki, within easy reach of sightseeing spots such as the Arch of Galerius and Rotunda. We love how the host has styled this home, with a sense of hygge running throughout – reclaimed wooden furniture and artistically tiled floors all add to the trendy feel. It features everything you need for a cosy home-from-home stay, and also has a little balcony where you can enjoy your coffee while listening to the sounds of the city.

Hygge at Heart

This modern apartment is a fuss-free base to return to after days spent exploring sun-soaked Thessaloniki. We recommend hiring a car if you want to visit the beach or attractions such as the Church of Saint Paul and the White Tower. You will, however, find restaurants close by, which is handy, as the kitchen here is only suitable for light bites. The home also features a private balcony for enjoying a cup of coffee, and the pared-back bedroom is plenty comfortable. 

Grecian Breeze

If this home offers something above all else, it's views. Out front, you can gaze out over the Aegean Sea, while the terrace behind faces out toward the imposing Mount Olympus. But it doesn't just have views – a seven-minute stroll will take you to Fourka beach, while the restaurants and bars of Fourka village are even closer. Back at home, the large garden, while rather empty, is perfect for family football games. Let the kids tire themselves out before bed, and then enjoy the sunset views peacefully from the outdoor seating area.

Home on the Green

Close to the Church of Holy Apostles, this cosy apartment makes for the perfect base for exploring Thessaloniki. Though the kitchenette is small, it does have all of the key appliances needed to whip up a home-cooked meal, though we’d recommend sampling some of the local eateries. Featuring a double bedroom and a single sofa bed, we think this home is best suited to a couple looking for a romantic break or a small family. Paid parking is available close to the apartment, but with so many bus stops close by it’s easy to get around the city on public transport. 

Greek Oasis

There are few words sweeter to the ear than 'private infinity pool', so you'll be pleased to hear that this villa close to the Halkidikan coastline has one with a marvellous view of the dazzling blue Aegean Sea beyond.

Rather impressively, this is far from the only standout feature at this address. If the coastal panorama proves tempting, there's direct access to a small rocky beach so you can roll out of bed and be swimming in mere moments. If you just prefer to admire it from afar, you can do so from the seating on the pergola or on the master bedroom's masterful balcony.
