Situated on Rhodes’ eastern coast, within a short drive of Afandou Beach, is this family-friendly apartment. Pick up a selection of local produce in town (Afantou is within walking distance) to grill up on the barbecue and enjoy an afternoon swim in the private pool. This apartment is spread over two floors, so expect to climb some stairs – though you will find one bedroom on the ground floor. The no-frills interior is modern and comfortable, though, with a private garden and the beach within easy driving distance, you’ll likely want to spend your time soaking up the Greek sun.

This trendy villa faces the sea, and you'll soak up glittering views of the Mediterranean from almost every room. Wake up to coastal views from both bedrooms, while in the living space, glass windows ensure you're soaked in sunshine all day. The interior design is decidedly contemporary (think sleek concrete floors) with a touch of Greek heritage, such as in the warm wooden furnishings and ceiling beams. However, we don't think you'll be spending long indoors considering what's waiting for you ouside - an extensive patio area with a swimming pool, sun loungers, and hammocks, all facing the sea. You could easily spend all day here, starting your day with breakfast at the outdoor dining table and finishing with a barbecue as the sun goes down. You can't leave Greece without taking a dip in the Med though, and it's just a short stroll to Lachania Beach. We'd also recommend driving to nearby Gennadi, which hosts beach parties during the summer and is home to quaint Greek tavernas. If history is your calling, it's just a 30-minute drive to Lindos where you can visit the incredible Acropolis. However, we understand if you choose to spend all day on your own patio, lazing on a sun lounger with a book and enjoying drinks as the sunsets.

Set on the outskirts of Salakos village, in the lush foothills of Mount Prophitis Ilias, it's a high-end villa surrounded by rich agricultural land. Olive groves, walnut trees and nearby glasshouses producing fruit and vegetables make this a slice of rural heaven, and every morning you'll be brought fresh produce, olive oil, eggs and bread from the farm.

Away from it all but just a fifty-minute drive from Rhodes Town, here you'll be able to experience a slower pace of life. Bask on your enormous deck, find a shady spot beneath the palms in your private garden or swim and play all day in your pool. An elegant and charming home, it's been built in the traditional style with plenty of character – think vaulted ceilings, bare stone walls and plenty of natural wood. It sits perfectly in its serene surroundings. 

Our pick of the rooms has to be the main living room here. With its open layout and fabulous high ceilings, there's something quite Hollywood about it. We love the leather sofas, the sleek, black kitchen and the green-framed window walls. But there's much more to explore, with a second living space and three beautiful bedrooms. There's even a home gym if you're feeling like some exercise.

In the evenings, light the barbecue and eat outside under the stars, or head into the village (where you'll find a couple of small eateries) or to the coast at Kamiros Beach for dinner in a seaside taverna. And there's plenty to explore locally too – don't miss a visit to the butterfly valley, the seven springs and a chance to go wine tasting.

Sandwiched between the soft sand of Kavos and Pefki beaches, this oceanfront villa puts the crystal shallows of Rhodes’ southern shore approximately twenty paces from your swimming pool terrace. Heading barefoot down the private path, you’ll find two wooden decks right on the waterfront, furnished with loungers and swathed with white billowing curtains. A sheltered bay makes this the perfect swim spot. Watch boats cut across the crystal-clear sea from here, or up on the first-floor terrace where a fire pit makes for the perfect accompaniment to a stunning island sunset. As well as a swimming pool, the main terrace has a manicured lawn with an ancient olive tree at its centre and dining for the whole group on the shaded patio. 

The villa’s interior combined contemporary minimalism and Dodecanese tradition with vibrant works of modern art adorning white stone walls. Each piece of furniture feels as though it’s been picked from an interior design magazine, with a Southeast Asian feel to hand-carved wardrobes and lacquered desks. Slate floors keep things cool underfoot and exposed stone archways and fireplaces are a nod to tradition.

Just a twenty-minute drive from Lindos, known for its fabulous restaurants and nightlife, you'll also be a fifteen-minute drive from the windsurfing beach at Prasonisi, with supermarkets even closer. Best of all, you're just a five-minute drive from one of the island's most famous beach bars.

It's only a short drive to the Blue Flag pebbled beach of Afandou, or drive up to the historic Rhodes Old Town and treat yourself to fantastic local cuisine. n the southern coast of Rhodes, near the peaceful village of Lachania, this modern villa is thoughtfully designed and stylishly executed. A sultry living room with dark tiled walls is the perfect place to spend cooler evenings, where you can browse on the iPad, fire up the bluetooth speaker, or play on the PS4. The bright, modern kitchen is well-equipped for making everything from quick breakfasts to family dinners. All three bedrooms have comfy king size beds and TVs, and the top floor bedroom leads out onto a peaceful balcony. There are two decadent design-led bathrooms with statement light fixtures and a large walk in shower. 

In the summer months you’ll want to spend most of your time outside. Start the day by stepping out onto the balcony to admire the breathtaking view down to the sea, before heading down to the pool for a pre-breakfast dip. The house is 150 metres from the coastline, and a three-minute drive from the nearest beach. After a day of frolicking in the sea, head into Lachania, where you’ll find alfresco tavernas and laid back restaurants in the tree-lined square serving Greek and Italian fare. The stars here are beautiful, and there’s no better way to enjoy them than soaking in the hot tub back at home.

Lachania beach is a mere 150 metres away, so one minute you can be swimming laps in the pool, then padding barefoot to the soft sand and saline waters of the Aegean Sea. There’s something of a boho-seaside touch to the design with exposed lightbulbs hanging from rope, tree-stump bedside tables and shell centrepieces, plus the odd Grecian urn a reminder of the ancient roots of Rhodes.

We're completely in awe of this home's spectacular views. Here, uninterrupted panoramas out to sea paint a calming canvas of blue. With its open-plan layout and large sliding doors, this home's design works to celebrate its picturesque surroundings. Inside, it's all earthy textures and neutral tones. White walls and slate floors invite sunlight to dance around the space, creating a serene atmosphere. We love the stylish, fully-fitted kitchen. In the mornings, prepare your morning brew here before gathering at the dining table for breakfast. 

Outside, the turquoise swimming pool takes centre stage on the glorious sun-drenched terrace. Lined by little palms and shrubs, you'll love spending your days here, basking on one of the plush sun-loungers. Tucked away in the shade, the four-seated dining table is the ideal spot for dining alfresco. Though with ample restaurants nearby, you might be tempted to taste some local cuisine. Here, you're just a seven-minute drive from the beautiful mountainside village of Lachania, while the clifftop acropolis of Lindos is thirty minutes away by car.

The Tide Whisperer

This villa, set on a complex, is around a thirty-second wander from the crystal clear waters of Gennadi Beach. If you want to explore further, Lindos, with its charming streets packed with eateries and boutiques, is twenty minutes in the car. For history lovers, it’s just a few minutes more to Lindos’ stunning Acropolis and the Temple of Athena Lindia.

Or you may just want to unwind on hot, sunny days by this villa’s sparkling pool surrounded by whitewashed walls and greenery – we wouldn’t blame you. Relax on a sun lounger with a glass of wine (your lovely host provides a welcome basket with two bottles of local wine and some traditional homemade goodies).

We love the bathroom with its marble style finish and the beautiful bedroom, which opens onto a terrace with Grecian urns and cacti. This place is the perfect Greek retreat for a couple wanting the beach on their doorstep.

Located in Afantou, this home is the perfect spot for a family or group of friends seeking a Rhodian base. And though you’ll need a car here, you can make the most of Afandou beach and golf course within moments. The interior feels modern but practical, and while it’s bright, it’s not the most characterful. There’s plenty of space for the group, though be prepared to climb some stairs between floors. Step out onto the terrace and catch some rays on the sun loungers, or enjoy a swim in the pool. When the stars descend, have your host arrange a private chef, or why not head into town for an authentic Greek dinner?

Recline on a sun lounger and relax with a book, or if you’re feeling a tad more energetic, swim some lengths. After all that unwinding, prepare a Greek feast in the outdoor kitchen to enjoy on the terrace, under the shade of the pergola. Prefer to head out? Spend an afternoon on the beautiful golden sands of Kolymbia beach, just a leisurely ten-minute walk from your villa, while Tsampika Beach – considered one of the most beautiful in Rhodes – is only around a ten-minute drive away. If you tire of the beach – unlikely, we know – explore the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site of the Palace of the Grand Masters in Rhodes city. And when you return, wash away the day in the sleek bathrooms, each complete with rustic wooden accents, before collapsing into one of the super comfortable beds—pure heaven.

For the beach, Paralia Faliraki is just an eight-minute drive away, but there are many more coves hidden up and down the coast.

Sun-soaked Stone

This contemporary hideaway is just a short stroll away from Lardos beach, with easy access to local restaurants and shops. You won’t need a car here, but if you do feel like exploring further afield your host can help organise car rentals – plus there’s free private parking. The garden is great for families, there’s a jacuzzi (unheated) and a swimming pool, plus the rooms are soothingly simple – with plenty of space to stretch out and spend quality time together.
