This charming little home makes for a wonderful romantic break in Greece. You’ll find this villa just outside of Patitiri in the south of Alonnisos. Sweeping views combine with the boutique feel of the decor to make this home unique, and a stay here memorable for all the right reasons. 

Wake up and take in the beautiful views from the bedroom window before moving out to the terrace. As you drink your coffee and nibble on local pastries, plan how to spend your day. 

The lively port town of Patitiri is just ten minutes away by car. You could rent a boat and go sailing, or even take a coastal tour on a yacht. Steni Vala is a wonderful fishing village nearby – an eleven-minute drive. There you’ll find incredible seafood restaurants and a seascape dotted with fishing boats. The beach is just four minutes away in the car, or you can stroll there in twenty minutes and take in more of the villa’s lush surroundings. The restaurant and cafe at the beach serve excellent food so you can really make a day of it. 

An afternoon by the freshwater pool here is rewarded with glorious views and a pretty pergola to shelter under if you need a break from the sun. The covered dining area is lovely in the evening when the sun is setting. When the stars come out, take a seat on the terrace and spot constellations until the early hours.

In the warm waters of the Aegean sea, Alonissos plays host to gorgeous beaches, ancient historical sites, and the vibrant port town of Patitiri. From here, you could board a catamaran to start an island-hopping tour of the Aegean, or you could take an eleven-minute drive to this utterly blissful villa.

Isolated from urban areas, this home really plays into the charming serenity of its surroundings.  Set over two floors, this bright white villa looks traditional from the outside. Sandwiched between blue skies above and the blue waters of your private freshwater pool below, the exterior colour scheme might remind you of a certain national flag. This Greek theme continues with olive trees and a welcome basket full of local wine and fresh fruits. Pour a glass to sip as you explore the grounds, passing below the shaded dining terrace and into the minimalist interiors.

Wooden ceilings with white painted beams mix traditional architecture with a fresh, modern colour scheme. This continues throughout the kitchen, living spaces, and upstairs into the elegant bedrooms. With open ensuites and views of leafy trees, you’ll love relaxing in these zen-like spaces after a long day out in the sun.

It features a 12 x 4 m freshwater infinity pool offering panoramic views of the sparkling sea and the green pine forest surrounding the bay. The interiors boast a spacious living area (55 m²) illuminated by large sliding windows, seamlessly blending with the outside. This haven consists of a dining and sitting area, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. The south- and west-oriented terrace invites you to dine and lounge surrounded by breathtaking views. Three generously sized main bedrooms, all with frontal sea views, king-sized beds, and en-suite bathrooms, provide maximum privacy for couples or families traveling together. Of the Aegean Sea’s many islands, you can find some of the most striking spots in the Northern Sporades archipelago. Where rolling hills meet limestone rocks, almond trees clash with grapevines, and fishing villages neighbour vibrant tourist hubs, the island of Alonnisos has a lot to offer. And as this home is only two kilometres from Patitiri, where seven different ferry routes set off from, you’re not limited to the spoils of the local land. But when we say this luxury villa is on another level, we really mean it. 

Set upon a hill with breathtaking sea views from the peak, this house is split down the hillside slope as nature intended. Understated interiors allow the architecture to stand out – it’s not a single piece, but two fantastic stone buildings with two separate pool terraces, connected by outdoor steps.

On the lower terrace, sip margaritas in the Jacuzzi pool. On the upper terrace, power through your morning lengths in the infinity pool before an iced latte. Follow the path from here to your dining area, where you can serve up grilled aubergines from your stone oven. Or a few more paces away, find a covered garden with citrus, almond, and quince trees lining the lawns. A feast for the senses.

Surrounded by fragrant pine trees and aromatic gardens, this homespun villa is instantly calming. Inside, natural materials and a collection of relaxed furnishings come together to create a sense of grounding. Plus, there’s everything you need to ensure a comfortable stay – a compact kitchen for whipping up Greek-inspired lunches and two cosy, fuss-free bedrooms that tempt extra-long lie-ins.

The living area opens onto a covered patio where you’ll spend most mornings tucking into breakfast at the dining table and sipping a coffee on the bench. When the temperature starts to rise, make a beeline for the private pool and float about in the cool water.

Spend afternoons snorkelling in the shallows of Limnonari Beach, a ten-minute drive away, or head into Skopelos town for its picturesque horseshoe harbour, family-run tavernas and unspoilt coastline. 

Fragrant Pine

Standing on the terrace of this lovely home, it’s difficult to look away from the view. The Aegean Sea sparkles in the sunlight, with neighbouring islands the only interruption to the seascape. This villa sits on a verdant hillside in sunny Skiathos and it’s an all-round winner. 

One glimpse at the outside area and it’s easy to see how you’ll spend your stay. Plunge into the pool first thing, then sit with a coffee and breakfast under the veranda. The views really are captivating, so don’t expect to be able to get much heavy reading done – we constantly found our gaze being pulled towards the sea. 

There are two beaches – Megali Ammos and Vassilias – within six minutes of the villa. We liked to stroll along mid-morning, which gave us the perfect excuse to shelter from the hottest sun in a taverna, sampling local seafood and crisp white wine for lunch. 

The town centre and its shops, bars and restaurants are just ten minutes away by car. History buffs in your group might like to drive eighteen minutes to Skiathos Castle. This medieval site is now a ruin but was once a key settlement on the island – the stone ruins look especially dramatic on the rugged coastline and the views are magnificent.

From the glistening infinity pool, admire sweeping panoramas across the pine-speckled coastline, out towards Maragos Island and over to the white sands of Megali Ammos beach below – a four-minute stroll from your doorstep.

A masterclass in indoor-outdoor living, this lavish home beckons you to unwind in the splendour of your surroundings. Upon entry, an open-plan living space instantly impresses with high ceilings and a contemporary design aesthetic. Here, floor-to-ceiling glass doors seamlessly blend the chic lounge and fully-equipped kitchen with the shaded dining terrace and infinity pool, creating an expansive canvas primed for entertaining. Upstairs, the state-of-the-art video games room, fitted with soundproofing and plush sofas, is sure to keep your clan entertained. 

We wouldn't blame you for never wanting to leave this pocket of paradise. Though, if you do fancy exploring, you're perfectly positioned to do so, with Skiathos town and port just a fourteen-minute walk away. Wine glass in hand, watch the sunset over the horizon before retreating to your sumptuous bedroom for a restful slumber.

Located on the north side of Skiathos, this charming villa in the heart of a quiet olive grove is a relaxing place to call home. Just below is Paralia Megas Gialos, a hidden gem of a beach that's well-worth the rocky climb down. Five minutes away by car is Skiathos Town, an enchanting village where cosmopolitan eateries, trendy boutiques, lively clubs and chic cafes promise plenty of action. From ancient monasteries to glorious beaches, there's no doubt that this is an excellent place to experience all the island has to offer.

When you're not out exploring, chances are you'll be lounging by the private infinity pool and drinking in the views of the Aegean on the terrace. Inside, Grecian character – think stone exterior, white-washed walls, wooden ceilings – meets 21st-century comforts like a jacuzzi tub and fully-equipped kitchen to create a comfortable and captivating space. Even better, your hosts go above and beyond to make your stay extraordinary. Not only will they pick you up at the airport, but they'll greet you with welcome drinks on arrival, help organise tours of the nearby islands and monasteries and assist with planning activities like bike riding, hiking, and much more.

The outside space is spectacular. The pool area is entirely private thanks to pretty stone walls and a lush canopy of trees. Dive into the inviting water and relish the absolute peace and quiet of this lovely home – and that’s not to mention the views. The far-reaching panorama of sparkling blue sea stretches all the way to neighbouring Skopelos and takes in the rugged coast of beautiful Alonissos.  

The large verandas and terrace ensure there’s space for everyone in your group, so while someone is swimming laps in the pool, others might be eating cheese and olives or photographing the views. The master suite has its own kitchenette and hot tub, giving you all the room you need – there’s even a home cinema system ideal for a quiet night in. 

The villa is just fifteen minutes from Patitiri, a lively and cosmopolitan port town. Head there to dine in the evening, or to set out on a sailing session during the day. Much closer to home, Megali Ammos beach is just a one-minute walk from the villa. This secluded little beach is the cherry on top of this home – spend the day bobbing along in the sea and simply stroll along the path back home for dinner.  


Alonissos Oasis

Surrounded by olive trees with uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea, this low-slung villa is a soothing sanctuary. Inside, it’s rustic and laidback with lofty timber ceilings, exposed stone walls and a neutral colour scheme. Throw open the glass doors to let a gentle salt-tinged breeze float through the home as you put together a traditional breakfast in the uncluttered kitchen. 

Spend afternoons flitting between the pool and a lounger before slinking off for a quick cat nap in supremely comfortable bedrooms. If exploring is on the agenda, take the trip to Megas Gialos Beach and pick your way across the pebbles to the inviting crystal clear water. Later on, head into Skiathos for dinner in the charming old town and a drink by the peaceful harbour.

One of a collection of four villas in the middle of the island of Alonissos, this home's surroundings couldn't be more Mediterranean if they tried – olive trees, herb bushes and rocky terrain fill the garden, while the dazzling blue Aegean Sea stretches out to the distant horizon.

There are plenty of spots from which to appreciate this dreamy landscape. On hot days, the infinity swimming pool will likely be the top choice, but the loungers on the terrace enjoy an equally lovely vantage point. As well as that, there are a pair of balconies on the home's first floor which also offer a superb panorama.

That's quite enough about views, though. Behind the villa's yellow walls, you'll find an interior that combines rustic features and earthy colours with enough contemporary flourishes, like the flowery armchair and abstract artworks, to stop it from feeling dated. One of our favourite features is the pair of Jacuzzi tubs in the bathrooms that makes it easier than ever to completely switch off and relax.

Of course, there's only so long that you can gaze at the sea before the temptation to go for a swim proves too much. Fortunately, the nearest beach – Tourkoneri – is only seven minutes' drive away. The port town of Patitiri is only ten minutes away too when you fancy a meal out in a seafront restaurant. 


Olive Laugh Love

Leave it all behind at this secluded home on the Aegean island of Skopelos. Boasting a lusher landscape than other Greek isles, this sun-baked paradise will provide a peaceful escape.

We fell in love with this home because of its awe-inspiring outside space. The infinity pool is filled with crystal-clear water that falls into a canal, giving the illusion of an endless blue expanse. A line of loungers beckons – put your feet up and sip chilled cocktails in the sun. With multiple places to dine al fresco, you may feel tempted to cook up a storm in the well-outfitted kitchen. We'd recommend starting with a simple Greek salad, or requesting a private chef if you'd rather leave it to the pros.

Drive to Limnonari Beach, a tree-fringed cove that encapsulates all that is special about Greece – translucent water, reliably blue skies and magical surroundings, to name but a few. Skopelos town sits at the east of the island, a patchwork of sugar cube buildings with terracotta rooves. Wind through stone-paved streets before finding a waterfront taverna to while away the evening.
