Set just a flip-flop from Netanya’s sweeping sandy shores and the city’s hub, the location of this apartment is spot-on. The pared-back, fuss-free interiors may not suit guests looking for a characterful, lived-in home. But you can’t help but swoon at the vast private terrace commanding sea views. It’s worth noting some of the bedrooms are on the snug side compared to the main bedroom with its en-suite, walk-in wardrobe and direct access to the terrace. We’ll leave you to decide who lucks out on that.

When it comes to apartment buildings, the penthouse is often seen as the most coveted floor, but those at ground level often have the better deal if there's outdoor space in the equation. Anybody coming to northern Israel to stay in this apartment will surely agree with this by the end of their stay.

Slide open the glass doors and you're greeted with a private garden that stretches around both sides of the building, which features everything from alfresco seating and play equipment to an inflatable swimming pool in which to cool off during particularly warm afternoons. Add to that a view of palm trees and the Mediterranean Sea, and it's not hard to imagine hours being passed in this pleasant space.

There's plenty to like about the home's interior, too. The tall windows and glass doors bring in plenty of natural light and this sense of brightness is only furthered by the white walls and shiny grey floor. When it comes to the furnishings, there's a mid-century influence in the preference for clean lines and wooden surfaces, while the kitchen and bathrooms are welcomingly sleek, too.

When it comes to seeing a little more of the local area, Achziv Beach is about fifteen minutes away on foot, while Achziv National Park – home to lagoons, sandstone ridges and the ruins of an ancient fishing village – is another five minutes' walk on top of that.

It’s safe to say that Rock & Roll has plenty to offer. Inspired by the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, it’s the kind of home that’s full of personality. The bedrooms don’t quite measure up to the grandeur of the rest of the apartment, but the sweeping city and sea views certainly do. It’s in Sarona, a popular part of Tel Aviv with a mix of high rises and historic buildings, authentic neighbourhood markets and trendy restaurants.

Located on the border between Neve Tzedek and Florentin, Tel Aviv’s vibrant city culture is right on your doorstep. Florentin is full of art galleries, hip bars, and cool restaurants, whereas Neve Tzedek’s charming streets and elegant boutiques draw in crowds from all over the world. The home itself isn’t the most characterful we have ever come across, but it’s got all the amenities you need. The building also comes with a gym and a pool, which is something we’d take any day of the week.

Nestled between Florentin, Levinsky Market, and Neve Tzedek, this one-bedroom home is in a wonderful location if you’re looking for cool shops, charming restaurants, and bars. While it’s not the biggest home, we love that it feels so personal. Brimming with knick-knacks, turquoise splashes of colour, and eye-catching art, it’s easy to see that Ruthi and Am have put a lot of effort and love into designing this home.

Modern but still very homely, and stylish without being over-the-top, New Dimensions is the perfect family home. The kitchen is a little small, but we love the communal spaces – the dining area with well-curated art is our favourite. It’s also within walking distance to Nachalat Binyamin and Carmel Market, with many of Tel Aviv’s most beloved restaurants and coffee shops nearby.

Oceanology is just two minutes away from the Mediterranean. It’s so close that you can see it from the balcony. The high-end bedding makes for a high-quality sleeping experience, and we love that it also comes with access to hotel amenities like a gym and spa. The home itself is adorned with a black-and-white colour scheme and mid-century revival furniture for a playful spin on contemporary style.

In Season has that light, bright feel that we love. Influenced by Scandinavian elegance with natural, bohemian textures, it makes for a wonderful escape in Tel Aviv. It’s an elegant two-bedroom home in a newly renovated building with industrial chic exposed air-conditioning vents, and stylish animal-themed pillows that add a playful touch to the streamlined home. With its Scandinavian-esque look, the dining table is the heart of the home, perfect for a casual dinner. We also love that the building is operated like a hotel, so you’ll get a cleaning once a day, completely free of charge.

There’s a lot to love about this central Tel Aviv apartment. Let’s start with the location. It’s a two-minute stroll to the lively bazaars and craft vendors of the famous Nahalat Binyamin Street. Twice a week this spot comes to life with a buzzing marketplace. In the surrounding streets of Florentin, you’ll find buzzing hipster cafés, bakeries selling traditional Israeli pastries and a huge selection of bars and restaurants.

Then there’s the outdoor terrace. Shielded from view and lined with lush green ferns, this is the perfect spot for a post-sightseeing tipple on the comfy lounge furniture with the outdoor heater keeping the chill at bay. There’s plenty of room to dine out here too. Glass doors lead to the open living area, adorned with monochrome modern art on the walls. The vintage mint-green fridge and microwave combo in the kitchen adds a touch of quirk.

On the fifth floor of a restored 1920s building, we find Lady Sunshine. This two-bedroom home brings a lot to the table with its gorgeous views of Tel Aviv’s fast-changing skyline and the transparent wall that adds a luminous feel to the space. The immediate neighbourhood isn’t the most attractive part of the city, but you’re within easy access to both the beach, Carmel Market and some of Allenby Street’s more charming offshoots.

Concrete Wonder is all of our industrial chic creams come true. You’ll find this two-bedroom home in a newly renovated building complete with a high-quality kitchen and marble-like walls in the bathroom. We also love the industrial loft-style touches like the exposed air-conditioning vents in the ceiling, and the gorgeous steel-frame wall-to-wall windows that bring in a lot of light. On top of everything else, it’s operated like a hotel, so you’ll also get a complimentary cleaning once a day.

Peachy Harmony definitely isn’t located on the most charming corner of Allenby Street, but it’s well-connected to the beach and some of the cooler stretches of the hectic street. Banana Beach is less than 10 minutes away, and so is Carmel Market. popular Nachalat Binyamin and many of the trendy cafés and restaurants that are popping up along Allenby Street and its offshoots. This one-bedroom home lacks a little soul, but it spoils you with modern amenities and a location that’s hard to beat - especially if you’re looking for a mix of sea and city.

There are lots of lively restaurants and bars nearby, and you’re only a short walk from breath-taking Gordon Beach. We like the minimalist undertones with splashes of colour, but our favourite thing about this home is definitely the luxurious bathrooms.
