Choose Happiness is a luxurious central Scottsdale affair, complete with anything you need for a happy and relaxed time away. Before we get carried away with the features, it's important to mention that you'll have a plethora of sights and restaurants available within walking distance, but then, you've seen the kitchen, haven't you? The pictures barely do this home justice. When the team that designed this home decided on a mostly natural-tone look, they did so to highlight the high-end minimalist features like the fire pit and the sleek dining area. Arizona being the Copper State, there's a nod to this in the shape of a copper sink in the kitchen, which testifies to the great attention to detail. But let's not forget the more obvious star elements here – a heated pool, an abundance of outdoor seating to hang out, the concierge team at your disposal to book a variety of services, and a private office space for those who can't get completely away from it all.

With a number of cosy nooks to hang out in and communal areas leading out to the pool, Bronze Glow allows for moments of reflection, conversation and rejuvenation. Packed with yard games, an outdoor grill and a kitchen fit for chefs, there's plenty to keep you busy, yet what made our jaws drop was the fantastic location. Within a short drive, you can hop through at least nine sprawling golf courses and explore at length the shops, restaurants, casinos, cafes and nightlife opportunities in Old Town Scottsdale. With activities like hiking, biking and baseball, there's plenty of reason to pull yourself out the pool and get exploring.

Talking to Trees is a home to visit with the kids, especially if they love quick trips to the zoo and botanical gardens that end in board games by the poolside. The whole family will love days spent lounging by the communal pool, or visiting the local shops and restaurants. The bedrooms may not be too spacious, but there are plenty of other spots to hang out as a family.

Minutes from downtown Old Town, the Entertainment District, a choice of ten golf courses and multiple hiking options up and around Camelback Mountain, this newly renovated home is excellently located in the Old Town district of Scottsdale. Though it looks fairly simple from the exterior, this home has been recently renovated and the open-plan kitchen and living space feels fresh, modern and comfortable. The master bedroom is particularly enviable - we loved the love seat next to the bed - but guests should note that one of the bedrooms doubles as a children-oriented games room.

Enjoy a relaxing stay in Arizona at this modern home in Scottsdale. Chill out on the outdoor sofas, lie back on a sun lounger, or sit chatting around the fire pit. The home is not far from Scottsdale’s famous entertainment offerings, and you can even start the party early with a drink at the indoor-outdoor bar. Looking for the ultimate getaway for a large family? This fabulous home in sunny Scottsdale has something to impress everyone - even the impossible to please. First up there's the kitchen. It has all the high-spec equipment you need to create a banquet, plus room for a head-chef, sous-chef and diligent vegetable peeler/washer-upper without squabbles breaking out. The open-plan living room is elegant space, with a large flat-screen TV and L-shaped sofa big enough for small army of popcorn munching movie-watchers. The bedrooms are all individually designed, and we particularly love the children's room with its comfy bunk beds, blue-and-white teepee and pastel-coloured bean bags. Out in the garden there's a good-sized turquoise pool, plenty of games equipment (including small, moveable football goals for pool footie), a roaring fire pit and wicker hanging egg chairs. And if you can tear yourself away, this home is in the heart of Scottsdale, and the bars, restaurants, shops plus Scottsdale baseball stadium are all a short drive away.

Location-wise, you can't beat this neighbourhood – delicious restaurants, bustling shopping centres and lively bars are all on your doorstep, as is the Arizona Canal Trail, which is perfect for morning jogs along the water. When we say that you can walk to everything, we mean it – that's why it's so important to have an inviting space to relax in after a long day on your feet. And trust us, this stylish pad does just that. 

Step inside and you'll find a modern living space with a few Southwest-inspired details – picture ten-foot-high ceilings, crisp white walls and a sienna-coloured leather sofa that invites you to kick back and chill out. The chef-inspired kitchen is super sleek and excellently stocked with all the cookware you'll need – be it Crate & Barrel dishes and wine glasses or a blender and full baking set. Our favourite spot is the balcony, where you can unwind with a glass of bubbly and watch the sunset. And we can't forget all the bells and whistles – smart light switches, a Google Nest, Intelli-Shades and keyless entry ensure living here is a breeze.

Looking for a fun-packed family escape? This recently remodelled and colourful mid-century-inspired home is as good as it gets. It’s a five-minute walk to Old Town Scottsdale, where you'll have access to world-famous restaurants, shopping, art galleries and more. After exploring, come back to the spacious garden and kick off some games – why not shoot some hoops in the heated pool or challenge the group to a mini-golf championship? The winners can bask in the sunshine while the losing team fires up the barbecue. Rain stopping play? The high-spec kitchen has everything you need for a Michelin-star-level dinner, and we particularly love the mini wine fridge. Recently remodelled, the appliances and finishes are all high-end here, so whether you want to treat yourself to a steam shower or simply cool off in the impeccable pool, there are wonderful opportunities to do so. Located just two miles from Old Town Scottsdale’s wonderful restaurants, boutique shops and exciting nightlife, staying at Hitched means getting plenty of relaxation and seclusion, while still being close to all the action.

Situated on a quiet street not far from what’s considered “the South Beach of the desert,” all the shopping and night’s entertainment is just a walk from your front door. If you have some golfers in the mix, TPC Scottsdale is just a fifteen minute drive from the home. Back home in the evenings, gather and chat around the crackling fire.

You guessed it – this charming mid-century-inspired home used to be an architectural studio and was lovingly renovated by your hosts to create an immaculate space for a single traveller, cosy couple or a small family. With its own entrance, charming patio and private pool, you won't even notice that your hosts are right next door. Although if you need them, they'll be delighted to give you local tips and help you out in any way. Nestled in-between Phoenix and Scottsdale, you’re just ten minutes from Old Town Scottsdale with its vibrant nightlife and excellent restaurant choices, as well as Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Gardens. Less than fifteen minutes in the opposite direction and you’ll find yourself in the excitement of downtown Phoenix. Whatever way you go, there's plenty to see and do.

Nestled in the Arcadia neighbourhood, with downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix in easy reach, this smart home is a great place for explorers to kick back and relax. There are plenty of places to hang out with your loved ones, from the cool and crisp living room to the back yard where you can roast marshmallows by the fire pit. The interior design is effortlessly cool with a touch of desert luxury, and we particularly liked the well-equipped kitchen with a chic little breakfast bar. After a morning coffee, culture vultures can head to Scottsdale Arts District, while hikers can take a drive to the trails of McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Reconvene at one of Arcadia's cafés or restaurants to share stories about your adventures, before heading home to mix some drinks in the cocktail shaker and settle in for a movie night.

We wouldn't even blame you if you hardly left the house when there is such an array of activities waiting right in your garden. Splash around in the pool, work on your tan, play games, then head out for an evening on the town – it doesn't get much better than that. You can even get yourself a personal butler, a private chef, or an at-home yoga class, just ask your host for details.

Pocono Mansion is the best of both worlds. Just a short walk to Scottsdale’s Old town and Fashion mall, as well as the Entertainment district, it has everything at your fingertips - but there’s plenty to keep you occupied at home too. Behind its immaculate lawn and large outdoor entertaining area, this elegant private estate complete with a guest house has large, floor-to-ceiling glass doors that seamlessly connect interior and exterior spaces, leaving you with every urge to take a dip in the private resort pool. In terms of our favourite spot inside, it's a tough call between the media room with your very own pool table or the library/wine room, but ask us in the morning and we might wax lyrical about the amazing master suite which offers one of the best views in the house.

The fun never ends in this home that was built for active leisure. From the designated game room with foosball, billiards and a huge TV, to the giant outdoor Jenga, there's always an excuse to get everyone together and spend some fun time competing. Of course, there's also a beautiful pool – heated at no additional cost – and if you're too busy chilling out to cook or shop, you can book a variety of services that will turn this retreat into a truly hands-off experience. All five bedrooms are spacious, bright and welcoming, making sure you'll get enough rest to wake up ready to explore the nearby hiking trails, which are only a five-minute drive away. This home has a certain Southern flair and features a gorgeous cactus mural that creates a playful atmosphere. It's unlikely you'll be rushing to get out of this entertainment-packed home, but if you want to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants in Old Town Scottsdale that are worth a visit.

It's playtime all the time when you stay here, whether it be at one of the clubs and bars in Scottsdale's entertainment district (just a short stroll away), or in the home itself, with a pool table and cornhole set inviting you to start a tournament. With a striking marigold feature wall in the lounge and lime green stools at the breakfast bar, this spot doesn't take itself too seriously. The outdoor space is where it really shines – cool off in the glistening pool or float around on an inflatable while you soak up the scorching Scottsdale sun. When you're feeling peckish, fire up the grill for an alfresco feast. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity to a number of courses, while nearby Camelback Mountain invites you to take on a challenging hike to admire the panoramic city views.

You don't even need to go inside to cook – with a summer kitchen and barbecue, grill up an alfresco dinner to serve on the patio as you watch the sun go down over Camelback Mountain. Golfers will love having the Ingleside Club right next door, and there are also bikes provided to make getting around quick and easy. Visit the chic Arts District and Old Town Scottsdale, before coming home to chill out in the mid-century style living area or get competitive with a game of table football.

It comes with passes for a nearby resort, where you can swim and work out, and there are golf courses close by, too.

Located in South Scottsdale, Star World sits just minutes from the Old Town, where some of the area’s best bars, restaurants and shops await your visit. You’re also only a short drive from numerous golf courses, casinos, top golf and Spring training games. But more importantly, Star World is a beautiful home and the perfect getaway for up to ten guests. Inside, the wonderfully remodelled home boasts open-plan living areas, seven large-screen TVs, and a game room. But that’s not all. Outside, you’ll find a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, barbecue, several outdoor games, including corn hole, and of course, an outdoor TV. If it were up to us, we’d move right in.

Sunflower Dance is an elegant and sleek home, perfect for a relaxing escape from the busy city. The lounge comes with a luxe and lavish 60s-style sofa, and metallic touches fill a neutral and cool home. The gorgeous modern kitchen is a sociable space - fully-equipped with all the utensils you need to cook a family feast, complete with a breakfast bar so you can watch the chef work their magic. Spend some time chilling in the comfortable bedrooms with spectacular natural light, or spend leisurely evenings relaxing in the bathtub. Fill your days on the grounds with mini-golf and enjoy cool drinks while sunbathing by the pool. The outside lounge area is ideal for sunset watching, and feasting on food from the outdoor grill and barbecue.

This corner of the USA is famed for its resorts, but you’ll have a private one of your very own at this Scottsdale home. Part of a friendly community, outside the gates there’s enough shopping, food and golf to satisfy enthusiasts of any level. However, inside the doors of this remodelled hillside home, it's all about relaxation with a distinct luxe twist. The master bedroom, in particular, is a showstopper, with its red leather sofa, huge en-suite bathroom and floor-to-ceiling windows which make the most of the view of the desert, as well as the fuchsia bougainvillaea that border the entire house. There are two parts of this home we think will get repeat visits — the restaurant-quality indoor bar area that puts drinks cabinets masquerading as such to shame and the outdoor hot tub. Bring the two together — responsibly, of course — for an evening you won't forget in a long time.
