The single-bedroom annexe is a nice touch, ideally suited for couples looking for privacy. Despite appearances, you're not far from civilization here – a twenty-minute walk will bring you to a coffee shop, and you'll find a supermarket just a five-minute drive away. And with a free pass into Joshua Tree National Park (a fifteen-minute drive), you can explore to your heart's content.

Set on 2.5 acres of stunning desert wilds, this home off the beaten path is the perfect place to unwind and relax. It offers everything you'd expect from a desert oasis, from the stunning star views to the extensive spa-like relaxation options.

Start your day with a refreshing visit to the steam sauna, before taking off to the wilds for a hike. Around midday, cool off in the plunge pool and play some psychedelic tunes on the vinyl player. Treat yourself to lunch underneath the cosy covered cabana – we particularly love the outdoor lighting.

At night, gather around the gas fire pit while you rustle up some treats on the charcoal grill. Finish off your day by settling into the hot tub and stargazing – this area is incredible for cosmic views. When you’re settled in for the evening, you can languish by the indoor fireplace and immerse yourself in a good book.

Despite the remote location, the town of Yucca Valley is only a twenty-minute drive away and is excellent for supplies, dining, and bars. Meanwhile, the otherworldly landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park are a twenty-five-minute drive away, and you can amp up your relaxation even more with sound baths at the iconic Integratron, just ten minutes away by car.






Eight Miles High

This home is clearly a labour of love, and it reflects a lot of the host's personality. There are spaces for meditation and yoga, both indoors and out, and the desert aesthetic has been perfectly captured in the design. A renovated mid-century home, it's minimalist and charming. Outside, you have a grill and a hot tub, which is a great spot for watching the stars move across the clear desert skies. All of that’s without even mentioning the location. You can walk into Joshua Tree Village, which has several excellent cafes and restaurants, and if you drive ten minutes in the other direction, you’ll reach the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
