People had a lot of fun at Woodstock back in the day (although the music festival actually took place on a farm in Bethel, 40 miles from actual Woodstock, but let's not allow facts to get in the way of a good intro). Just a seven-minute drive from the centre of town, it's in a serene, wooded area with numerous places to hike nearby (and just a forty-minute drive from ski resorts in the winter).
