A 19th-century fondouk, in the past this home accommodated travellers before they set sail on trading voyages. It’s now an elegant home-from-home structured around four courtyards and patios – you’re never far from outside space here. Fruit trees provide shade for alfresco dining, and there’s a large swimming pool with sun loungers when you fancy a refreshing dip. It was built in the traditional style using sustainable, locally sourced clay so the house keeps cool. It’s in Taroudant, a walled city with easy access to the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas hiking routes – this home is the perfect place to relax after a trek.
