Life in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront neighbourhood might appear to be all about yachts and watersports, but what about those of us in town on a more cultural trip? This shiny new apartment sits right on the gleaming waters of the marina, but it’s less than a ten-minute walk from the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art, the Goodman Gallery, and just over a kilometre from the 18th-century Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum. With so many visual delights around you, it’s only fitting that your home echoes the vibe. As soon as you arrive at this grand, residential resort, seeing its outdoor pools, marinas, and on-site gym, you can be pretty sure that you’re in for a treat. Your host can even arrange for a chauffeur to escort you here, as well as a fridge already pre-stocked with tasty goodies. But heading up to your third-floor apartment is the best way to survey this waterfront kingdom. We love the creative and sophisticated interiors – there’s a feeling of relaxed opulence throughout. From Starck-style ghost chairs around the dining table, to luxurious velvet cushions and textured walls in the bedrooms, the design details are truly fabulous.
