Located only a stone’s throw away from the gorgeous V&A Waterfront, this contemporary Cape Town villa makes a striking first impression with its bold design choices. Somewhat Scandinavian, but with an African flair, it combines a neutral colour palette with punchy patterns and plenty of natural materials. Maximising the space to make everywhere as cosy as possible, the home offers more than enough chill-out zones where everyone can holiday as they see fit. For some that would mean lying in long after the sunshine has begun to stream into your bedroom. For others, it might mean an early morning coffee in a sunny nook as you catch up on the news or a crossword puzzle. Tackle breakfast duties together and dine alfresco before spending the day poolside. When you’re not swimming laps in the pool or sitting on the edge with your feet dangling in, you can enjoy a glass of wine on any of the outdoor benches. Bookworms will likely claim the egg chair whilst they catch up on the pile of books they brought along to read on holiday, but you can all reconvene around lunchtime when you fire up the grill for a barbecued lunch out on... the deck. You can also watch sunsets from there with a good Franschhoek wine and nibbles. Don’t miss days at the beach – a few are only a ten-minute drive away – where you can enjoy sand and surf before having lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants. Golf fanatics can head to the closest course whilst the rest of the group explores the surrounding areas before meeting back up at the fire pit after dark.
