You couldn't ask for a better location – not only is the ocean just steps away but there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance when you fancy a night on the town. Holetown and Speightstown are also less than a ten-minute drive, so you're spoilt for choice. That said, it'll be hard to tear yourself away from your private oasis. Spend your days sunbathing in the beachfront garden, swimming in the clear blue ocean, cooling off in the plunge pool or unwinding on the shady terrace or balconies with a cocktail and a good book. Inside, it's bright and breezy. Even when you're lounging on the cushy sofas, that Caribbean Sea view is there to admire. Though some may find the 'under the sea'-inspired design a little too on-the-nose, we think it's a whimsical way to embrace the stunning oceanfront location. And the best part? You don't even have to worry about cooking, as a home chef will prepare three meals a day for you. Now that's a holiday.

With a covered terrace, glimmering pool (complete with water volleyball and a badminton court), and an upstairs deck overlooking it all, the garden at this breezy villa is the definition of a tropical oasis. You'll want to spend every minute here stretched out on the lounge chairs, floating in the pool and basking in the Barbados sunshine. And there's plenty on offer inside, too – including a pantry with a wine cooler, a separate TV lounge and a vast living area, where you'll find a baby grand piano, heaps of comfy seating and views out towards the pool. A little path through the palms leads straight to a private slice of sand on Reeds Bay where crystal shallows are perfect for paddling, swimming and boating. The condo’s terrace makes the most of the sea view, set up with a comfy outdoor sofa suite and dining for six. A personal chef means you can dine alfresco without having to lift a finger. Inside, coral stone floors are cool underfoot and painted white wood and turquoise accents give a beachy vibe to the place. Throw open the big, arched glass doors in the living room and master bedroom to let the sea breeze flow through.

The only difficult choice at this home is whether to slip into the swimming pool on the terrace or walk a few footsteps to the crystalline turquoise shallows of Payne’s Bay Beach for a dip. A private path leads straight to the sand where beach chairs and umbrellas are set up every day. Should you need to stock up on supplies at the supermarket or want to head out for fish cutters and rum cocktails, Holetown is a ten-minute drive away.

Apart from a private pool, the terrace is home to sun loungers, a big dining table for alfresco meals and a lounge area for cocktails at sunset. The space between indoors and outdoors can be blended by opening the big glass doors into the living room. It’s an open-plan, social space where the whole group can gather, be it for a round of drinks at the marble-style breakfast bar, around the dining table or on the plush grey sofas. Bedrooms are luxurious and the fifth comes with its own private entrance, kitchenette and sitting area for those that value privacy above all else.

Whether you're cooling off in the private pool, admiring the ocean views from the balconies or tucking into an alfresco feast on the covered terrace, this breezy villa promises plenty of rest and relaxation. If it’s space to breathe and a sea breeze you’re after, then this is the home for you. Looking out over the azure water off the west coast of Barbados, it’s perched up in Holders Polo Ridge. The double-height living room is warehouse-big, but has all the elegance of an old plantation house with a mezzanine study area, cooling coral-stone walls and suspended chandelier. When pulled back, the sliding glass doors melt the barrier between indoors and outdoors, and the sea breeze flows in from the garden. A full living room complete with coffee table, ottoman and wet bar sits under the shade of the poolside terrace, and a separate outdoor dining room is crowned with a sparkling chandelier. It’s the kind of space that calls for fine dining and champagne, which your private chef and butler will be more than happy to provide. The pool itself could belong to a five-star hotel – a long rectangle for lap swimming, crowned with a sunken hot tub and lined with day beds and loungers. Sumptuous bedroom suites are set across the main house and in the separate garden cottage with its own private patio. It’s perfect for large families, special occasions or even weddings – there’s a main house and cottage here, so it’s ideal for people wanting a bit of privacy or space. This Caribbean home is everything you’d wish for and more – it was designed for entertaining. Mini wooden bridges take you to the inviting pool or recline on a lounger and admire the surrounding tropical paintings of flora and fauna. Inside is no less impressive with its striking entrance reception hall with a fishtail palm tree as the centrepiece.
