As well as a balcony leading off from one of the bedrooms, guests are also treated to a large terrace at ground level complete with a swimming pool and an alfresco dining table, plus a rooftop terrace from which to gaze out at the Mediterranean Sea on the horizon. 

Although you may well prefer to spend as many hours in the open air as possible, you won't feel short-changed when you eventually head inside. Walk behind the glass doors and you're greeted with a space that feels bright and inviting, thanks in main to the stark white walls, shiny floor tiling and open layout that lets the light flow about unimpeded.

When you want to swap the swimming pool for the sea, the nearest beach – Green Bay – is only 700 metres from the front door and there are plenty more to be discovered along the Cyprian coastline, including Konnos and Fig Tree Bay. The centre of Protaras itself is only 1.8km away for when you need shops and restaurants.

Yes, this villa is only 400 metres from the beach and not much further to the centre of the resort town of Protaras, but we'd like this address even if it was in the middle of nowhere. Only recently built, the interior feels fresh and contemporary, but our greatest praise is reserved for the outdoor space. Not only is there a particularly inviting swimming pool, but there's also a balcony with glorious views of the Med and vast amounts of terrace space on which to sunbathe, dine alfresco to even play pool out in the open air.

This villa is a practical base in Protaras, one of Cyprus' most exciting resort towns. The area is perfect for exploring, whether you want to enjoy the sandy beaches, snorkel in the coastal caves, or enjoy a night out on the town. What's more, a private swimming pool, a sunny terrace, and a balcony await you back home – although neighbouring villas overlook the outside spaces, so they're not the most secluded. Despite the basic design, the home has everything you need for a stress-free stay. In fact, all of the bedrooms have sea views – ideal for soaking in the scenery first thing in the morning.

With plenty of sun-drenched outdoor space to call your own here, it's more than likely, you'll wish to spend much of your time outside soaking up the Cypriot sun. However, it's safe to say you'll find the contemporary living space indoors just as enticing. Floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors invite in a free flow of natural daylight that bounces through the space with good vibes and a summer spirit. Meanwhile, the minimal designs in a white and grey colour scheme encourage guests to relax in a fuss-free environment far away from the stresses of daily life. 

Upstairs, you'll find scenic views overlooking the landscaped garden and surrounding fauna and flora. A private swimming pool awaits back at the villa, as do a roof terrace and an alfresco dining area. Sleek and modern, the design won't suit guests looking for a lot of character. That said, we're big fans of the breezy living space, which effortlessly embraces indoor-outdoor living. 

Surfing the Waves

Conveniently located just five minutes from beaches, shops, and restaurants, this villa makes for a handy base for a family. It’s in Protaras so everything is within easy reach – you don’t even need a car unless you’re planning on seeing more of Cyprus. The villa is simple but attractive, and while there might not be loads of space for eight to gather inside, you can open the sliding glass doors and spread out outside. The barbecue area and alfresco table mean you can dine in, too – and sit out with a glass of wine once the kids have gone to bed.

Beautiful, nestled amongst neighbouring villas, this Pernera gem is a must-see. The property boasts a refreshing poolside terrace, perfect for a cool-off from the midday sun or a splash around with the kids. Modern sunloungers and complimentary pool towels make topping up your tan under the Cypriot sunshine a breeze. Enjoy a spot of lunch under the shaded terrace and make use of the portable BBQ for an alfresco feast. Inside, floor-to-ceiling patio doors flood the open-plan living area with natural light, while a smart TV provides entertainment. The fully equipped kitchen features a three-seater breakfast bar, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs, three bedrooms provide comfortable accommodation with access to a separate shower room. Experience the ultimate holiday getaway at this hidden oasis!

Sundrenched Villa

This white-washed villa is strolling distance from Protaras – and, most importantly, a mere five-minute walk from the beach. Naturally, most of your time here will be spent exploring, especially as buzzing Ayia Napa is a fifteen-minute drive. During downtime, however, there's still quite a bit to enjoy at home. In the backyard, a private pool and sunny terrace are perfect for relaxing and dining alfresco. Head indoors, and you'll find an all-in-one living area filled with light, as well as four comfortable bedrooms upstairs. We think it's a great choice for families looking for a fuss-free stay near the Cyprus coast.

Just a ten-minute walk from two of Cyprus’s pristine beaches and only a short drive from the vibrant resort town of Protaras, this chic villa replete with ultra-modern amenities offers a group of guests the ideal beach getaway. This villa opens its doors to a swimming pool, garden and dining terrace, making it perfect for families and friends looking for a private outside space to relax and soak up the sunshine. Though, our favourite spot is on the rooftop terrace, with beautiful views out to the sea. Inside, it's bright and open, but the interiors are fairly uninspired. The bedrooms are on the smaller side too, so with recommend packing light. Location-wise, the villa is just a five-minute walk from the nearest sandy beach and is ideal for exploring the beautiful resort of Protaras. 

The Garden in Blue 

Minimalist and with views of the sea, you'll love idling by the pool all summer long here. A word of caution – with the vibrant Fig Tree Bay at a five minute walk, beach lovers and cave explorers will have plans of their own. Drive barely 15 minutes and you'll reach Ayia Napa, a town dotted with Blue Flag beaches, historical sites and a nightlife to remember. Nicosia, an hour away, caters to shopaholics and lovers of souvlaki, among other scrumptious delights. Louma Beach and Lombardi Beach are ideal for long coastal hikes. With so much to do, you'll be happy to escape to your starry roof-deck for a bottle of wine before calling it a day.

You’ll love whiling away the hours at this modern villa. Stylishly simple and minimalist in nature, it has just what you need to enjoy a sun-drenched summer on the Cypriot coast. We're talking about a private pool, a sunny terrace, and a breezy open-plan living space ideal for gatherings of friends and family. There are neighbours close by, so it's not the most secluded. But, if you want to stretch your legs a little, the nearest beach is a five-minute walk from home, as are shops and restaurants. The lively town of Ayia Napa is also a fifteen-minute drive away – with its bustling nightlife and bevvy of eateries, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
