It’s in Protaras so everything is within easy reach – you don’t even need a car unless you’re planning on seeing more of Cyprus. The villa is simple but attractive, and while there might not be loads of space for eight to gather inside, you can open the sliding glass doors and spread out outside. The barbecue area and alfresco table mean you can dine in, too – and sit out with a glass of wine once the kids have gone to bed.

This villa is located in a prime spot, just a short walk from Byzakia Beach and a handful of restaurants and shops. Outside, there’s a terrace with a dining area and a private pool for cooling off from the midday sun. While the interiors are simple and the bathroom could do with a refresh, the place is functional and comfortable. Plus, two bedrooms have balcony access, offering glimpses of the Mediterranean Sea – a view best enjoyed with a glass of something chilled in hand.

This Cypriot villa is situated close to the resort town of Pernera, but not so central that you'll be bothered by the noise. You'll find restaurants and bars an easy walk away, so you can holiday without a car if you so wish. The two double bedrooms enjoy their own balconies with views, but the upstairs bedrooms do mean this home won't be suitable for those that struggle with stairs. The swimming pool is the jewel of this home – it can be heated for an additional cost, and has plenty of seating for tanning or alfresco dining.
