It’s all blue skies, beaches and bougainvillaea on this little beauty of an island, and this sprawling home is the perfect place to experience it. Built in the 19th century, the house has been renovated and updated considerably since then and is now a chic holiday paradise. 

We love that it’s built around a Roman-style courtyard, so the whole house is kept cool. There are so many chill-out areas you may still be finding new places to relax on the day you leave. 

All the bedrooms come with a terrace, and the garden has plenty of shade thanks to mature olive trees and multiple covered terraces. And then there’s the pool – surrounded by sun loungers and elegantly lit come nightfall, its turquoise waters will be calling whatever the time of day.

Adjacent to the pool, you’ll find a sundeck that we think could easily double as a yoga terrace should the mood to asana strike you, and there are two outdoor dining areas to pick from come dinner time. 

Inside, the large, bright rooms are minimally decorated with interesting natural textiles and the occasional splash of colour. There’s a mezzanine in the living room – only accessible via a ladder – for when you need a quiet moment and a kitchen that’s been designed with family feasts and group gatherings in mind.

The excellent dining scene of bustling Ibiza Town is just a fifteen-minute walk away and it’s a ten-minute walk from lively Playa d´en Bossa beach.

Smack bang in the heart of delightful Dénia, this no-fuss apartment is perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for some rest and relaxation on the Costa Blanca. Inside, the place strikes a balance between comfort and function. There’s a compact kitchen equipped for quick meals and a quiet bedroom to ensure a peaceful sleep night after night. But it was the view that was our favourite part. We could’ve spent hours on that modular chair, watching the palm trees sway and the boats to and fro from the harbour, only breaking our gaze to open a bottle of Rioja as the sun sets. Spend mornings exploring your locale – you’re a ten-minute walk from the Dénia Castle and eighteen minutes from the Marineta Casiana Beach. If you’re feeling curious, take the twenty-minute drive to Parc Natural del Montgó for stunning hiking routes or catch the ferry from the port to the dazzling Balearic Islands. 

Where The Boats Go By

This is a villa that will have even the most hard-to-please guests grinning. A lot of that is down to its fabulous views of the glistening Mediterranean and Isla del Portitxol, but special praise also goes to the peaceful swimming pool surrounded by treetops and the covered terrace complete with an alfresco dining table. Although some of the bathrooms are a little dated, we've only got kind words for the three-level layout – we particularly love the main bedroom with a sea-facing balcony. To top it all off, you don't have far to venture for beautiful gold-sand beaches, either.

Ibizan glamour is well documented, and this place could be a masterclass in it. Overlooking Cala Jondal, it's a striking modern home with views across lush countryside to the sparkling Mediterranean beyond. Sun seekers will note the vast and luxurious outside space, with terraces and balconies offering outdoor chill-out zones, shady reading nooks and loungers lining that ever-so-tempting infinity pool. Inside, it's all about the whites, greys and silver highlights. Architect-designed and full of unique features, we love the bespoke staircase leading up to a galleried landing. Three of the bedrooms have sea views and each has its own bathroom. There's a recently installed tennis court if you're feeling energetic, and it's just a short drive to the area's upmarket, white pebble beach, with its beach clubs and restaurants – or arrange for private catering through the host.

If we could pick one plot that best captures the spirit of Ibiza it would most likely be this stunning villa, found in the hills near Cala Jondal. Feeling more like a 5* hotel, this newly built home is luxury to its core. Find the island's chill side in the infinity pool, with views over the palm-strewn slopes and out towards the sea, or in one of the outdoor marble bathtubs, soaking underneath the stars. Renowned restaurants can be replicated in the chef's kitchen, with a dreamy, plant-filled dining room for big, joyful meals together. Things start to wind up a little in one of the spot's many bars, we suggest starting in the open-plan living room, with its folding doors and Balinese-inspired awnings, before padding across to the beach-style bar in the garden. Sundowners are best sipped at the roof terrace's bar – for the final picture-perfect moment, sit back in the plunge pool as the last rays dip behind Formentera. The Balearic's wild side is discovered down in the basement, where a fully soundproof nightclub area is on hand to dance the night away. Back home (and we're thinking you'll want to maximise your time at this place) enjoy lazing around the pool on the Balinese sunbed, cold drink in hand. Or head to the upper floor terrace and take in the views from the swing chair or sofa. Inside, you’ll want for nothing. The hi-spec kitchen is well-equipped for when you’re not making use of the poolside barbecue. Bedrooms are all cool white linen with added boho chic. Help yourself to a novel from the lounge bookshelf and sink into the huge corner sofa when you need a break from the sun.
