Fabulously located in the heart of Eixample, within easy walking distance of many of Barcelona's key sights, with a beautiful living space full of lovely period details and a spacious master-bedroom with its own private terrace, this home is a delight. Bedrooms two and three are both extremely small, but we won't hold this against an otherwise fab home. The living space might just be home to the most beautiful flooring in the Plum Collection – we are obsessed!

The central location of this convenient address is a great asset and if this is your first visit to Barcelona – it doesn't get much better than this. Enjoy being within walking distance of all the best shops, restaurants, and cultural sights including Casa Batllo and Gaudi's other spectacular works of art (a ten-minute walk away). With so much to see and do nearby, catching some respite from the city is easy here – as a soothing colour palette with calming wood tones and soft furnishings create a space boasting comfort and practicality. The mini-bar with local eco soaps, toothbrushes, beers, wine and juices is a nice touch and there's nothing like stepping out onto your little balcony, glass in hand, and taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant area. Bedrooms are calm and quiet, and all the more beautiful thanks to their Catalan tiled floors, high ceilings and tall windows. But our favourite thing about this charming place is the hosts, who live in an apartment on the top floor and are welcoming and knowledgeable. They'll look after your bags before or after checkout, welcome you with a local breakfast and even allow you to use their beautiful roof terrace from time to time – where you can see across the city to the sea.

The decor isn’t the most inspiring here but a sizeable kitchen will be appreciated by chefs of the group. And the home’s locale close to Casa Batlló, Casa Milà and Plaça de Catalunya makes sightseeing a cinch.

Pedestrianised Calle Ferrán, which leads to the Barcelona City Hall and Plaça Reial, one of the city's most beautiful squares, are both nearby.

Back at this recently renovated apartment, we loved the characterful living space with its exposed brick walls, which are more than 200 years old and its high ceilings with wooden beams. The cute balcony is perfect for enjoying a glass of Cava while watching the comings and goings on Las Ramblas. This place is ideal for atwo couples or business professionals.

Located on bustling València street, if you're after somewhere vibrant – with popular modernist buildings like Gaudi's Casa Battló, quirky cafes, and interesting retail options right on your doorstep – this spot is ideal. Walk to the Casa Milà in under five minutes or be at La Sagrada Familia in just a fifteen-minute stroll. You really are in the beating heart of Barcelona here. When – full of sangria, paella and weary from all that shopping – you do return to your new home, you'll find an elegant living space with original artwork, sleek glass tables and a striking cowhide pouffe. There's a graceful yet cosy ambience around the home with ornate gold mirrors, comfy leather sofas and calming neutral tones. We really loved the chic and sociable breakfast bar in the kitchen area – it's the perfect spot for drinking your morning coffee while mapping out the day's itinerary. And with so much to see and do here, that may take some time.

This flat's earthy tones and use of natural materials gives the space a warm and cosy vibe – and we adore every inch. Design-wise, the style here is rustic and a little bit bohemian, with rattan furniture, crochet artwork and swoon-worthy exposed brick walls. Everything you'll need is taken care of by your lovely hosts – the glossy kitchen has basic ingredients and cooking gear, the flatscreen comes equipped with Netflix and Apple TV services and the home manual is the most thorough one we've ever seen. And despite the shared lobby entrance being off a busy road, the apartment is sat at the back of the building and is relatively quiet, making it an excellent spot to relax, unwind and sprawl out after a busy day exploring. Speaking of, you'll find this flat in lively Eixample, a hub of cultural attractions, Gaudi architecture and high-end boutiques. The Cathedral of Barcelona is only a thirteen-minute walk, while Mercado de La Boqueria is ten minutes on foot – head there for fresh produce and local ingredients when you feel like cooking. Whether you want to grab brunch or stroll through a museum, people-watch in a square or dance the night away at a nightclub, this area is rife with adventure.

El Born is a bustling barrio of cafés, cocktails, and Catalan culture. Seconds from all the action, your home is located in a historical building with buckets of charm. We love the exposed brickwork and wooden beams of this original flat. These rustic structural features contrast beautifully with modern, understated furnishings and decor. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows open up on balconies overlooking the street, while cushy sofas and flowing curtains add softness to your surroundings. Up on the communal roof terrace, we recommend getting a cold drink and lying back in the sun loungers. This sunny spot is perfect for an iced coffee in the morning, or a chilled glass of wine in the evening. After relaxing up here, head down to street level to check out the bars and restaurants of El Born. It's also a fifteen-minute walk to the beach and just over five to the Parc de la Ciutadella. With the Barceloneta metro stop five minutes from home, the entire city is yours to explore. But if you're feeling a little overwhelmed by all the incredible options, your friendly host is here to help. They can provide tourist information as well as city maps, taxi booking, and tickets for monuments and museums – truly a first-class service.

Perched along handsome Gran Vía Avenue and just a stroll from the Gothic Quarter and all the must-see sights, the location of this apartment is spot-on. But it's the sense of space that impresses us the most about this L'Eixample bolthole. Each bedroom with an en-suite is as beautifully styled as the next, with Juliet balcony doors flooding in natural daylight. It's worth noting if ten guests share, it could be a squeeze fitting you all around the dining table. Though with countless buzzy tapas bars and restaurants just moments from your door, we wouldn't blame you for eating out instead.

If you're staying in Barcelona, then you'll probably want to see some of its architecture – and you're in luck because House of Halls has several well-preserved architectural details. From the closed-up balcony study to the balcony with space for a full set of furniture, this home embodies a true Catalan lifestyle in the opulent neighbourhood of Eixample. Staying in this part of town, you'll have easy access to lots of attractions, including Sagrada Familia and Arco de Triunfo.

Floating Cinder is only available for longer stays, and as such we think it has to be judged slightly differently to places that are destined for short trips. For example, we wouldn’t recommend using the sofa bed (though of course, it’s your choice), but equally, the extra space and the decent kitchen weigh heavier in our verdict. It’s really important to be aware that this listing represents several flats. They are all identical, and all in the same building, but we can’t say specifically which one you’ll get.

With a direct view of Gaudí's masterpiece Casa Batlló, this luxury home's location is an indisputable superpower. So, take a seat on the balcony with the complimentary bottle of cava and admire the vista here or from one of the beds. Here, you're surrounded by metro links and a short walk from the famous Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas. The Passeig de Gràcia, with its delightful cluster of upmarket boutiques and Gaudi masterpieces, is also just a four-minute stroll from your doorstep. 

We love this home's open-plan design aesthetic. Inside, it's a timeless canvas of white walls and wooden floors, adorned with stylish decor. Large windows offer pretty views of the street while ushering sunlight to flood the space. After a restful slumber in the lavish bedrooms, spend mornings roosted at the dining table for coffee and breakfast. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you could need to prepare a home-cooked feast, though if you'd prefer to try the local cuisine, you're in an ideal spot to do so. There’s plenty to love here, but we can’t talk about this home without immediately bringing up its gorgeous terrace which comes complete with outdoor seating and a private Jacuzzi. Head out here first thing in the morning to watch the sunrise or come together at the end of the day for a well-deserved aperitivo as night falls over the city’s rooftops.

It's not just the outside space that’s worth writing home about, though. Inside, traditional architecture combines with postmodern design to create stylish living spaces that you’ll be more than happy to linger in. From Barceloneta Beach to Plaça Reial, all the major attractions are within touching distance here, and we wouldn’t blame you for wanting to make the most of it. Soak up the gorgeous architecture of Barcelona Cathedral, head to Port Vell for a seafood feast with your fellow guests, or get a cab to Eixample where you’ll find plenty of places to dance the night away.
