We love how well positioned this apartment is. Nestled in the low-key and central El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot neighbourhood, just a seven-minute walk to Gaudí’s La Sagrada Familia, this is an unbeatable place to call home. This laid-back apartment is a welcome oasis from the city’s vibrancy.

What we love most about this home is its minimalist charm. The calm interior feels immediately rejuvenating - pull back the curtains and let the light flood your open-plan space whilst enjoying your morning coffee. Make breakfast for the family feel extra special with pan con tomate - you can pick up some of the city’s finest bread from Fermento Casa De Panaderos, just six minutes away. The small narrow streets - called passatges in Catalan - will lead you to the city’s vibrant Parc Güell where you’ll discover Gaudí’s architectural delights. Consider the matinee at the Catalan Modernist-style concert hall, Palau de la Música Catalana, then refuel with today’s special and an authentic aperitivo at the bustling El Xampanyet. Hop on the metro home- your apartment is nine minutes from there - where your cosy, warm-lit bedroom awaits.

The first, just off the main bedroom, is the perfect place to start the day off – all you need is a strong cup of coffee and some fresh fruit to nibble on for breakfast. The second, meanwhile, is accessed via the living area, making it ideal for sharing alfresco dinners and a laughter-packed conversation underneath the yellow-striped awning, watching as the sunset bathes the entire city in golden light.

Home to Gaudí's architectural gems, haute couture shops, and Michelin star restaurants, they call this neck of the woods Quadrat d'Or (Golden Square) for a good reason.

Back at home, the pristine, uncluttered interiors will appeal to all you minimalists out there. Flooded with natural daylight thanks to those floor-to-ceiling Juliet balcony windows, it feels like a breath of fresh air to return to after a day soaking up all that Gaudi extravagance in the streets below.

Drop your bags in the spacious hallway, grab a glass of something crisp (the complimentary chilled wine will help with that), then fling the balcony doors open wide to watch the grand avenue of Gran Via bustle below. Adorned with Modernist masterpieces, this part of Barcelona boasts great architecture on every corner and even the insides of an unassuming building like this one show some masterful craft. True, the street you'll be staying on is a little bit noisy, but we think that easy access to the cultural heart of town more than makes up for it.

In the living room, you’ve got a dedicated laptop desk for those that need to work remotely. Despite the central location, it’s pretty quiet as the rooms look out over the terrace rather than the busy street.

Fabulously located in the heart of Eixample, within easy walking distance of many of Barcelona's key sights, with a beautiful living space full of lovely period details and a spacious master-bedroom with its own private terrace, this home is a delight. Bedrooms two and three are both extremely small, but we won't hold this against an otherwise fab home. The living space might just be home to the most beautiful flooring in the Plum Collection – we are obsessed!

It's clear that Gingerbread Cinder was designed by a professional – original vaulted ceilings and exposed brick walls are a challenge to pull off, but these guys succeeded using minimal, high-quality furniture. This is an immaculate home with lots of natural light and several external balconies, perfect for people-watching. Located in Barcelona's 'it' neighbourhood El Born, you'll be within walking distance to the most famous sights, as well as local hidden gems. 

Gingerbread Cinder

We love this home in Barcelona – it boasts some of the best views over Gaudi's iconic Casa Milà and L'Eixample. Housed in a 120-year-old renovated building, floor-to-ceiling windows let the daylight in, while traditional tile details and a mixture of old and new furniture give this place soul. Prepare some tapas in the sleek, grey kitchen and enjoy at the dining table or head to L'Eixample’s celebrated dining scene, just over a five-minute walk away. If the vistas from your apartment of Casa Milà have whetted your appetite to see some more, then it's a mere three-minute stroll. Or, browse the high-end boutiques in the area, then head to La Rambla de Sant Jose (also known as La Rambla de les Flors) and pick up some flowers. You'll undoubtedly be glad you picked this apartment.

Bedrooms are calm and quiet, and all the more beautiful thanks to their Catalan tiled floors, high ceilings and tall windows. But our favourite thing about this charming place is the hosts, who live in an apartment on the top floor and are welcoming and knowledgeable. They'll look after your bags before or after checkout, welcome you with a local breakfast and even allow you to use their beautiful roof terrace from time to time – where you can see across the city to the sea.

The central location of this convenient address is a great asset and if this is your first visit to Barcelona – it doesn't get much better than this. From Gràcia, all the major sights are well within walking distance, including the Sagrada Familia under twenty minutes away. Explore the local neighbourhood, stopping off at its trendy cafes and family-run eateries – wherever you are, a jug of sangria and a plate of paella are never too far from hand. 

Trojan Horse

Built with respect for the environment, this bright home is an ideal base for eco-conscious guests looking for a comfortable, central stay in the city. While the home dates back to 1900, it’s been brought into sparkling 21st-style with an interior that reflects eco-design principles and respects Catalan Modernism.
