It’s just across the road, and all along the seafront you’ll find Benalmadena’s main attractions – dolphin tours, the huge marina and myriad bars and restaurants. Glass doors lead to the sitting room with a full, open kitchen for meals at home and there’s a dining table inside big enough for the whole group. The bedrooms are a little sparse but they’re perfectly comfortable.

Poolside, with its sea views, is where to be, although the lack of shaded seating means you'll need to be extra generous with the sun cream. And while the inside's simple decor isn't anything to write home about, the open-plan living space is a nice touch – perfect for coming together as a group. There are several shaded balconies here, so you can continue to enjoy the heat with an afternoon cocktail. Come dinner time, you'll find Playa Bonita's restaurants and bars are within walking distance.

Bright and spacious, the villa's interior is flooded with light throughout the day, thanks to sliding doors and windows facing every direction. In keeping with its Andalusian location, there's a North African influence on the decor. However, the modern stainless steel kitchen, quiet tranquillity of the study and the massive entertainment area and gym in the basement make it hard to pin down one particular influence. 

The standout bedroom is undoubtedly the immense main bedroom with a double en-suite wetroom and direct balcony access. Additional rooms with twin and bunk beds mean that the villa is best suited to a multi-generational family getaway rather than a group of friends.
