The location in the old town is fantastic – restaurants, shops, and bars are all steps away – though that does mean it can get a little noisy at night. Back home, there isn't any outdoor space, but the floor-to-ceiling windows act as an internal balcony, making it an excellent spot to savour a glass of wine and watch the world pass by. One guest will sleep on a sofa bed, and only the living area has air conditioning (the bedrooms have fans). That said, it does the trick for a central pad a short stroll from the beach.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, the living area catches plenty of sunlight and is ideal for relaxing between excursions. That said, there isn't a tonne of space at capacity, with one guest on the sofa bed. But with that excellent location, we think you'll be out exploring too often to notice.

There's always the chance of hearing some noise from neighbours, so if you're a light sleeper it may be worth packing earplugs. With a communal garden, the sea right on your doorstep and the whole of Altea to explore by car, you can't get much closer to the action.

While the decor isn’t the most exciting in our collection, the home nonetheless benefits from a communal pool area – as well as a children’s pool for little ones – and beautifully manicured gardens with sea views. You’ll also find bars and the promenade within 500 metres, Altea within 2 kilometres, not to mention plenty of outdoor activities on hand nearby, including hiking, cycling, kayaking, fishing, diving, snorkelling and waterskiing.

When it comes to location, you can’t do much better than this Benidorm apartment. It’s right on the Golden Mile, just a short walk to Playa de Poniente – and this corner apartment boasts glorious sea views. Best of all, it’s housed in a swanky complex with plenty of amenities. In addition to the communal outdoor swimming pool, there’s an additional indoor pool on the 46th floor – the views are spectacular – along with a sauna, spa and fitness room. There are alfresco hot tubs on the roof terrace, too. With two guests on a sofa bed in the living area, it won’t suit everyone, but we think the location and wealth of amenities more than makes up for the lack of privacy. 



The Spanish Song

If you’re looking to stay right on the Levante beachfront in Benidorm – this apartment is for you. We love the amazing views of the beach, bay, and mountains. There are sliding doors to a Juliet balcony, so you can feel the sun on your face and there's a sun shade if the Spanish heat gets too much. Sleeping five people, (one guest will be on a sofa bed in the living room) – there’s only one bathroom, so at full capacity, there could be a queue in the morning. But we can forgive this, as the location is great here – Playa de Levante is just 5 metres away and the nearest restaurant is under 50 metres from this home.

The Cider House

Enjoy the best of Benidorm from this bright and modern apartment. There's a chance you might hear some noise from other neighbours in the building during your stay, but you'll also have access to the shared tennis court and the communal pool during the summer. The private balcony offers lovely views of Levante beach and the Mediterranean sea, both right on your doorstep. A car isn't essential, but you might want one for exploring further afield. There are plenty of great spots within walking distance though, like local restaurants and bars, and the Aqualandia water park.

Marina Alta is a coastal region that can please just about everyone  – from history buffs to beach bums, and hikers to urbanites, this region of Spain isn’t just all about waterside delights. Just a ten-minute drive inland from the picturesque town of Altea (and don’t worry, you will pass beaches en route), you’ll love unwinding in this zen-like villa. 

Traditional whitewashed walls and a terracotta roof are right on par with what you might expect in the area. But as you step inside, passing interesting shrubbery and succulents outside, the vibe is altogether more modern. We love the fresh and bright living space, with a cherry-red sofa suite and an ornately carved, wooden cabinet. Oversized bamboo canes and a woven lampshade complete the look as you move to the sunroom – a striking cylindrical structure that really sets the architecture apart from rustic traditions.

From here, peer out to your secluded gardens. Lush, green, and shaded by palms, the immaculate lawn surrounds a private, heated pool. Wander around to find orange trees popping up in the grass, and terracotta tiles leading up a staircase to the roof terrace – it's much easier to survey your kingdom from up here.

High in the hills, less than 10 minutes by car from the charming town of Calp, this traditional home peeks over the sapphire Mediterranean and rugged, rolling countryside. Carved out of local stone and supported by solid wood, the ceiling beams converge from smooth, curved walls and over the galley kitchen. Mismatched furniture adds a cosy, old-timey ambience – we’re particularly fond of the antique chandeliers. Outside, a staircase spirals down to the pool terrace with sun-soaked loungers and stunning views across Calp. When you aren’t swimming laps in the private pool, find a quiet spot on the lesser-known Playa de Port Blanc – there’s a fantastic restaurant nearby for when you get peckish. In the evening, retreat back home to your balcony to watch the sunset behind the mighty Peñón de Ifach – perfectly framed by stone arches, it’s a snapshot you’ll never forget.
