That said, peek out the windows and you’ll see one of the city’s most beautiful avenues – Avenida de la Libertad – below. As an added bonus, this home’s enviable location means you’re never far away from an eatery serving up authentic Spanish cuisine. Keen for a swim in the sea? The sandy shores of La Concha beach are a mere five-minute walk away.

Welcome to this eclectic home in the heart of the Old Town. Thanks to its large, open-plan living area, a few friends or family members are sure to have a fabulous place to rest their weary heads after an exciting day on the Basque coast. Situated in the city centre, the flat faces the Bahia de La Concha and is just round the corner from the Old Town. The open-plan living room has stunning views over the bay and the surrounding gardens, and another highlight is the master bedroom, which has French windows with direct access to the terrace. Don't miss visiting either of the city’s two beaches, with La Concha perfect for a coastal stroll and a refreshing swim, while Zurriola invites adventurists and surfers.

A short walk from La Concha beach, this breezy apartment promises plenty of fun in San Sebastián. With a prime position just a few metres from the sea, it's no surprise that you'll spend most of your days swimming in the Atlantic, sunbathing on the golden sand and sampling Spanish cuisine at the bars and restaurants lining the waterfront promenade. Location-wise, it's hard to beat – you'll have the entire city at your fingertips, so set off and explore.

But when you're not out and about, you'll be able to chill out in style in this contemporary pad. Make yourself at home in the living space, decked out in soft creams and relaxing colours that feel like a respite from the coastal air. The shiny kitchen is well-equipped for cooking anything from Spanish omelettes for breakfast to tapas come dinnertime, while the chic bedrooms are as comfortable as can be. That said, our favourite spot has to be the balcony, where you can savour a glass of Rioja wine and watch the sun go down across the charming city streets.

We love the blend of old and new, where modern comforts aren’t missed, yet you still get a taste of the city’s historic character. Perfectly located near the Old Town, beaches and the promenades, each bedroom boasts charming views of this vibrant central neighbourhood. With a bathroom for each bedroom and two single beds in one of the rooms, this is a great base for a group of friends looking to explore the best of San Sebastián.

Traditional markets on your doorstep, La Concha Beach within walking distance, and restaurants aplenty just a short stroll away – we can't think of a better spot to soak in the lively atmosphere of San Sebastián. Right in the heart of Old Town, this stylish apartment is in a prime position for wining, dining and sunbathing, Spanish-style. Just step out the door straight into Plaza de la Bretxa and you'll understand why we love this location.

When you're not out and about exploring, make your way back to this cosy pad for some much-needed rest and relaxation. The living space is incredibly bright and super contemporary. Quaint Juliet balconies overlook the market, which is filled with local traders every morning. It's the perfect place to shop for produce to use in tapas and other dishes, which you can rustle up with ease in the glossy kitchenette. After finishing the evening with a glass of wine and a movie on the smart TV, snuggle up in the comfortable bedrooms for a restful night's sleep.

Uplifting light, greenery and all the treasures of San Sebastián are in rich supply when you stay at this perfectly positioned home. From the floor-to-ceiling windows that circle the living area to the dreamy Juliet balconies in each plush bedroom, the interior is so inviting you might find it hard to leave. Being within walking distance to both Zurriola beach and the Old Town, you’ll be spoilt for choice in planning your leisurely days. We suggest a morning browsing local boutiques, an afternoon stretched out on the sand and an evening sampling the pintxos bars.

City Beat

This townhouse apartment, set over two floors, offers true style in the heart of San Sebastian. Walking distance to the Old Town, the restaurants, museums and coastline of San Sebastian are all a scenic stroll away. But you'll want to spend time here, a home so stylish it's almost editorial. It's full of statement pieces, with a colour palette mixing greys and pastels in stylish clean lines and modern upholstery. And you're just round the corner from the river, where walks under the Spanish sun are unforgettable. 

Townhouse In Pause

This apartment is chic and well-thought-out, with a smart L-shaped couch giving you plenty of space to kick back and relax. The bright white kitchenette is well-equipped for you to make a morning coffee to enjoy on the balcony while a sea breeze ruffles your hair. Serene bedrooms come with piles of cushions and a cosy throw for your best night’s sleep ever. From here, a short stroll through De Cervantes Plaza will bring you to La Concha Beach, a pleasing strip of golden sand from which you can watch little white boats bobbing on the tide. Located on a lively street in the Old Town of San Sebastian, some of the city's best pintxos restaurants and bars are just footsteps away. 

La Piedra Blanca

With three bedrooms, a family or a group of friends will be well looked after in this stylish space in the heart of the city. Although the building you’ll be staying is probably one of the least attractive on the street, you’re in the privileged position of being able to gaze out at San Sebastian’s famous Art Nouveau architecture. The open-plan layout and soft seating invite guests to socialise in the living area before heading out for a day of fun. From your central position you can walk to the beach, the city’s museums and cultural institutions, and outstanding restaurants in just a few minutes. The Old Town, just north of this home, is where you’ll find the largest concentration of Donostia’s infamous pintxos bars. Just make sure you’re hungry because you won’t be able to stop yourself when you see the selection.

Nestled into the banks of the Urumea River, right before it flows into the Cantabrian Sea, sits a home so sleek you won’t know if you’re staying in a luxurious hotel or a cosy home. Pairing a gentle colour palette with contemporary takes on mid-century designs, this home oozes peaceful serenity in the centre of town.  Maitenminduta, which means to be in love, is perfectly located to experience all that the city has to offer. Head into the bay of La Concha for an early morning swim or walk just a short way to the Old Town at the tip of the Peninsula for a culinary experience you won’t soon forget. Bustling with bars and restaurants, you’ll want to take on the Old Town with a great appetite. Famous for its pintxos, these small snacks go brilliantly with any of the local beers, wines and ciders. When night falls, we recommend going for a pintxos crawl, hopping from one bar to the next until you’re so full you don’t think you can make it home. Except, of course, your home is just a short walk from all of this.

Just one block from La Concha Beach, this one-bed apartment is testament to the idea of small being beautiful. In the bedroom, natural light streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows and bounces off the eggshell-white linens and walls. A pared-back bathroom counter affords plenty of space on which to spread out your skincare for your morning toilette. The angular furniture and abstract line art have been chosen with care; comfortable enough to relax in, trendy enough for an Instagram shot or two. A kitchen corner with oven and microwave makes tapas dinners easy; there’s fast Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV for the evening’s entertainment. Outside the apartment, you're within striking distance of San Sebastian's shambling Old Town, and world-class restaurants are on your doorstep.

A La Playa

This cheerful apartment in San Sebastian is guaranteed to get you in the holiday mood. The open-plan living area is flooded with light and there plenty of places to sit and enjoy a morning coffee as you make your plan for the day. Your itinerary might involve hiking up Monte Igueldo and enjoying the panoramic views of the bay from the top. Or you might just fancy sprawling out on one of the three beaches – both La Concha and Zurriola are close by. Come evening you can treat yourself to some fine dining at one of San Sebastian’s eleven Michelin star restaurants. Or join the locals at the city’s pintxos bars, where the drinks flow and the snacks are famous. End the day with a nightcap on one of the two balconies, and then climb into one of the unique wooden beds where you’ll drift off in perfect serenity.
