This apartment is small but sleek, ideal for a fuss-free stay. It has all the essentials – a desk for remote working, a well-appointed (albeit compact) kitchen, and a comfortable bedroom. At full capacity, one guest will sleep on a sofa bed. Space is a bit snug when it's in use, though, so we reckon this home is better suited to two. Location-wise, Avenida de América is a five-minute stroll away, ready and waiting to whisk you off to the city centre. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance, too.

Located amid the skyscrapers of Madrid's Azca area, this home is ideal for two couples or a family looking for a cosy base in the city. The open-plan living area is spread over two levels, letting you enjoy some time apart when needed. If cooking is on the agenda, the kitchen has everything you need, and the small dining table by the windows is a perfect spot for light meals. In the local area, you'll find several museums, high-end eateries and the Bernabeu Stadium, while if you want to explore farther afield you're just a short walk from República Argentina Station.

This practical pad is a good option for no-nonsense travellers. Nearby Avenida de América station makes it easy to zip across the city – and it's only a five-minute walk away. You'll find a desk in the living area if you're travelling for work. There's also a sofa bed for one guest, though we think this apartment is better for two. It's on the ground floor, making it ideal for those with a lot of luggage, but it does lack a bit of natural light. Still, it's comfortable and has all you need for a city getaway.

This home is perfect for those looking for a fuss-free stay in Madrid’s Chamartin neighbourhood, with plenty of open-plan living space and a handy workspace for remote workers. While you’ll find plenty of restaurants and tapas bars within walking distance, you can also reach the cultural landmarks via public transport – Santiago Bernabeu metro station is a short walk away. And if you feel like dining in, the well-equipped kitchen and dining space are a lovely spot for a night at home.

Indoors, the floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of sunshine, while the stylish living area means you might choose to take your time leaving the apartment in the mornings. It's just as well then that the fully equipped kitchen and dining table make having cooked breakfasts at home a breeze. When you do go out, be sure to check out the nearby Berlin Park – just a few minutes away.

This Madrid apartment is designed in Indonesian style bringing sandy hues, beachy lightness, and a tropical theme to this city escape. A perfect morning here could begin with coffee and churros at the breakfast nook, or even be taken outside to the terrace to enjoy the sunshine and the great views of the cityscape.

Use the office to catch up with work or plan a jam-packed day of sightseeing. Hop on the easily accessible public transport and explore the city, visiting the Royal Palace and the Plaza Mayor, both of which can be reached within twenty to thirty minutes. Or, hail a cab and head to El Retiro Park – you can even reach the park by foot if you are up to a roughly thirty-minute walk. This is an incredible green space that was once exclusively for royalty until it was opened to the public in the late nineteenth century. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll as you admire the ornate fountains and see the statues of famous Spanish writers and heroes before taking a break in one of the many open-air cafes on offer. 

Why not also enjoy a wine tasting on your trip – which can be reached within fifteen minutes by car – and take your favourite bottle home to be opened as you cook dinner. Then enjoy a delicious selection of tapas as you sip on local wine, and on warmer nights savour your drink on the terrace to get one last look at the impressive city views.

The bedroom is up on a mezzanine level, and it's worth noting that the staircase has no railing and the ceiling gets a bit low where the bed is, so it might not be the best choice for taller guests. As for the location, you'll be within reach of several fantastic restaurants, as well as public transport for experiencing the city.
