There’s even a dedicated workstation tucked away, just in case you need to check in with the office during your stay. Outside, the Madrid Metro keeps you connected to the rest of the city. This home puts Chamberí's diverse bars and shops on your doorstep. Moments from the Paseo de la Castellana, you'll have excellent public transport links too. While we love the bright interior, it may be a better pick for light packers, as there isn't a lot of space in the bedrooms for storage. It's a shame the dining area doesn't seat six, though the kitchen offers another table for two. How about sunset-watching on the balcony after a day spent exploring Madrid?

Keen to be in the hustle and bustle? This apartment, just a ten-minute stroll from Gran Vía, may be a great choice. It's easy to get to all the landmarks on foot or by metro, and there are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby. Unsurprisingly it can get a tad noisy – but that's part of the city experience. We love the bright living area, and the two snug bedrooms channel Spanish sunshine with their yellow paint. Size-wise, it's rather compact but still comfortable – just note that it's on the second floor and lacks a lift.

And while there’s no parking with this home, its central location means public transport is easily accessible, there are restaurants and shops on your doorstop, and key city must-sees such as El Retiro Park are within walking distance.

We love this apartment’s spacious roof terrace with its views over the city. It has two seating areas, while inside there are two living spaces as well (one has low ceilings, so be prepared to duck if you’re tall). This home is located in the heart of Malasaña, a district known for its history, vintage shops and cool cafés. Explore Plaza del 2 de Mayo with its weekend market stalls or immerse yourself in the exhibits in the Conde Duque Contemporary Culture Center nearby.

The Mailbox

You’ll find this cosy apartment in Madrid’s coolest neighbourhood, Malasaña. The trendy barrio bubbles with life day and night, with retro bars, buzzing terraces and bags of history – and here you’ll be in prime position to enjoy all of it. The apartment has all you need for a stay in the city, with a spacious living room, separate kitchen, towels and toiletries – all you’ve got to do is show up and have a good time. We rather like the unique bedroom layout (both beds are in the same bedroom, but one is on a mezzanine level, accessed by ladder) and the modern aesthetic perfectly fits the area. Start your days with a morning coffee and some people watching on the nearby Plaza de Dos de Mayo before exploring some of the city’s other alternative neighbourhoods – Chueca, Conde Duque, Gran Via and Opera are all accessible on foot. After a long day of sightseeing, come back to your comfy pad to freshen up before enjoying Malasaña’s thriving bar scene. 

Love Street

Perfect for business travellers, this apartment boasts two desks for all your work-from-home needs. There's also a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy lounge, and a duo of comfortable bedrooms. One is a little more snug than the other, but we think this pad will be a stylish and practical option for a city getaway. Location-wise, this is a great starting point for exploring Madrid. Chamberí has a more local feel than other neighbourhoods, so you'll experience authentic Madrid. Plus, you're only a short metro ride from landmarks like Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor.

You'll find this apartment in Argüelles, home to low-key tapas bars, art-house cinemas, and traditional eateries popular with students. Exploring is a breeze here. Ventura Rodriguez metro station is a short walk away, though you can also stroll to Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace in about twenty minutes. Back home, there's a practical yet cosy living space. The kitchen is well-appointed for rustling up light bites, while three bedrooms offer respite after a long day on your feet. If you're looking for a laid-back stay, this pad is a great choice.

Settle into the Spanish lifestyle with a stay at this fantastic apartment in the vibrant Malasaña district. With plenty of room for a family or group of friends, you can kick back and relax between adventures, making the most of this beautifully designed space. 

The living area is a haven of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's cloaked in soft pastel tones, and has plenty of comfortable seating where you can curl up with a glass of Rioja at the end of a long day. The kitchen is perfect for cooking up your favourite dishes, which you can serve at the chic dining space, complete with stylish pendant lighting and parquet flooring. And, Madrid's grandest sights are within easy reach too – the Palacio Real de Madrid is just fifteen minutes away on foot, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is just over twenty minutes away.

The Narcisse is only a few minutes away from Calle Fuencarral, one of our favourite shopping streets in Madrid. To say that it's centrally located is an understatement, especially since this home is practically surrounded by Malasaña's finest quirky cafes and restaurants. Narcisse is an ambitious home – the golden details are risky but well-balanced with calmer tones, and the layout is (rightfully) focused on maximising the natural light, which mostly comes from the French doors. But in the end, this home won us over with the urban view.

With this apartment you get the best of both worlds – it’s situated between the traditional Chamberí district and the vibrant Malasaña neighbourhood. The Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque is a short stroll away, as is the Liria Palace. There’s a wide array of eateries within walking distance as well, offering cuisines from Spanish to Japanese and Persian. We love the large open-plan living space at this home – this room also sleeps guests three and four on a sofa bed. There’s a desk here too for when you need to work while staying in Spain’s capital city.

Your stylistic Justicia apartment is a reflection of your neighbourhood’s artistic energy, with Jaume Plensa’s “Julia” and dEmo’s “Lucky Frog” statues peeping around the corner on La Castellana. Not only is this apartment’s location second to none, but its vibrant atmosphere is sure to charm you.

With elegant finishes, from the chic artwork adorning the exposed, white brick walls, to the thoughtful choice of contemporary soft lighting, it is at once effortlessly cool and cosy. The combination of wooden and metal fittings, mixed with rustic design elements creates a blissful feeling of tranquillity. Enjoy your morning coffee at the charming wooden breakfast bar, or take an afternoon siesta, opening up the beautiful floor-to-ceiling glass doors.

Soak in Spanish life at the family-owned Casa Dani for their famous tortilla de patatas, then stop off at Casa Camacho in the Malasaña neighbourhood for vermouth on the rocks during aperitif hour - like a true Madrileño. What better way to end your day than with a cool twenty-five-minute walk back to your central space, Chocolatería San Ginés churro in hand. Nestle down under the sheets with the soft city glow just outside.

Art lovers – this one’s for you. Nestled in the heart of Almagro, you’ll find an abundance of galleries and museums nearby, perfect for whiling away a few culture-filled hours. After taking in the sights, there are some fantastic local eateries waiting to offer sustenance, with Italian and Japanese restaurants some of the favourites in the area. The apartment itself is ideal whether you’re in the city for business or pleasure. The desk offers remote working options to whoever stays here, while the private balcony allows you to take in the cityscape as it wakes every morning.

Tucked away in Ríos Rosas, this apartment is an ideal base for a couple or a solo traveller. If you’re in the city for business, the desk set to one side of the bedroom makes remote working a breeze, while the two balconies offer the perfect spot for an evening sangria. And while you may like to cook at home, when in Madrid, live like a local. Calle Pozano, famed for its tapas bars, is the place Madrileños flock to – so dining out is a must. Keen to explore further afield? The nearby metro makes sightseeing simple, with vibrant Puerto del Sol a short ride away.

With a fantastic address, just off the Paseo de la Castellana, this apartment has a wealth of attractions nearby. The upmarket districts of Salamanca, Chamberi and Justicia are all close, so you'll have plenty of fine restaurants, chic boutiques and art galleries to enjoy. With one of Madrid's main avenues on your doorstep, the slight downside is you will hear some street noise here, but it's easily fixed with some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. We have to say, we love the views over Plaza Villa de París from this home. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook some homemade meals or let your host arrange a private chef to create some of your favourite tapas dishes.

Plaza París Haven

When you see as many flats as we do, you learn very quickly to tell which homes have been done up for convenience, and which are a labour of love. Toquilla clearly falls into the latter category. It’s been designed as a whole, with thought and attention put into the schemes, as well as the materials. We particularly liked the concrete pillars and the glass walls, neither of which are especially common in Madrid. The only real complaint we have is the fake plants – They’re understandable for the convenience, but really, most places would be better off without anything.

Calle Almagro is probably one of the most iconic streets in Chamberí. Historically, the elites have fled central Madrid in hopes of finding a quieter vibe in this neighbourhood, leading to low-key chic architecture, great restaurants, and bars. Mucha's Jungle has an atypical interior design that reminded us of a Soho townhouse. The wooden floor is a piece of art on its own, and there are lots of beautiful design details dotted around. In spite of the fact that it looks a lot bigger, this is a small attic home, which is perfect for all who thrive in pretty, cosy spots.

Blending Saharan tones with Madrilenian furnishings, this artfully-designed apartment in the heart of the quirky Almargo area is perfectly suited for those after a warm and welcoming city pad. Inside, a neutral, calming colour palette meets rattan decor to keeps things cosy, while the open-plan living space and private terrace creates a bright and airy place to hang out with guests. 

Days begin with an espresso out on the terrace, overlooking the bustling neighbourhood square, before treating yourself to an indulgent bubble bath in the jacuzzi. After a relaxing start, gather the group around the L-shaped bench-style breakfast nook or flop down in the stylish living area and map out the day's tourist itinerary. Head to the elegant streets below for a bite to eat at a traditional tapas bar, before taking the short walk to the Plaza de España, Puerta de Alcalá and Palacio Real de Madrid.

This bright and cosy apartment is nestled in a vibrant neighbourhood of Madrid. Flexible check-in and check-out schedules make things extra convenient here, and we think it's ideal for corporate trips or weekend breaks. The small balcony is a highlight, with enough space to stand and look at the street below. The kitchenette is small, but you'll have everything you need here for preparing small meals. And when you don't feel like cooking, you'll find a plethora of fantastic restaurants and cafes close by. Parking will be tricky here, but public transport isn't far away to help you get the most out of your trip and see the city.

The Serene Haven

Cosy and charming, this apartment nestled in the heart of the vibrant centre of Madrid is the perfect spot for a romantic city break for two. While outside you’ll find yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of the capital, here you’ll be able to relax and enjoy total peace and tranquillity. 

The place might be small in scale but it never feels cramped – you’ll have plenty of room to relax in the comfy living area, under the watchful eye of Audrey Hepburn gazing down from the wall. Enjoy snuggly evenings of Spanish wine and conversation here – you can also rustle up quick and delicious meals in the bright and modern kitchen. Savour them at the elegant dining table, ideal for candlelit suppers – in case you have some laptop work to catch up on this is also the place to get that out of the way.
 
Meanwhile, the plush bed in the bedroom promises a good night’s rest – awake restored and ready for another day of city adventures. With most of Madrid’s most iconic sights within walking distance, you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice when it comes to things to do. Start by picking a direction – there’s magic awaiting around every corner.

This stylish Trafalgar apartment boasts a communal swimming pool up on the roof and makes for an excellent base for working remotely. Well-behaved pets are welcome to join you for an additional fee, and you'll have a dedicated desk for staying productive during the day. The kitchen is equipped for whipping up light bites, but without an oven, you won't be cooking large meals here. That said though, you'll have your pick of Madrid's fantastic restaurants right on your doorstep, along with shops and public transport for commuting or sightseeing.

We love the glossy finish of the glass table’s metal legs – the ideal spot to enjoy an intimate meal when you’re not out sampling the local tapas scene – as well as the large mirror here that helps maximise this petite but perfectly pretty space. The bedroom, meanwhile, is a fashionably pared-back and has been curated with a restful sleep in mind.
 
When it comes to sightseeing, walk seventeen minutes to go shopping along Gran Vía with its beautifully striking architecture, or head to bustling Plaza de España, just over a twenty-minute stroll away. You’re also a twenty-five-minute walk from leafy El Retiro Park, while the Sorolla Museum is fourteen minutes away on foot.

Residential Chamberí might not be smack in the middle of Madrid's theatre scene, but if you're in town to relax and see it on your own terms, then you'll appreciate the quieter neighbourhood. Paquelin is a comfortable home in the heart of it, immaculate and simple. With only a few art prints on the walls (which we thoroughly enjoyed) and generally inobtrusive furniture, it's the kind of home that will best suit an adventurous family who will make it their own. Public transport links that are just a four-minute walk away will also allow you to explore further afield. El Retiro Park is just twenty-three minutes away using public transport. It’s only an eleven-minute walk from Gran Via, which is a great place to begin your exploration of Madrid. This convenient apartment is in the popular Malasaña neighbourhood, one of Madrid’s most alternative areas. From here, you’re close to shops and restaurants, and most of the city’s tourist hotspots are ten minutes away, including Plaza de Espana. When you need to give your feet a break, hop on the metro at Tribunal. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living space, and blinds can be used to create more privacy between the sleeping areas.
