The second bedroom has both a double and a single bed, so it's a good option for parents with small children. Nestled between Fuengirola and Benalmadena, you'll be well-placed hit the beach. Where this address really stands out, however, is with the huge amount of communal amenities available for guests. These include a pair of swimming pools – one heated, one not – plus a gym and hot tub inside. Up on the rooftop, you'll find a huge terrace with a bar and gorgeous views of the Mediterranean Sea. Little ones aren't left out either, as there's a covered soft play area that's sure to keep them entertained.

Although there's more than enough to keep you occupied within the building, you can also get to the inviting sands of Playa del Ejido in under a quarter of an hour on foot, passing the Moorish fortress, Castillo Sohail, on the way. The centre of Fuengirola is just over five minutes away in the back of 
a taxi and offers plenty of restaurants, shops and amusement parks.

Yet, the views alone make the apartment truly stand out. The panorama at sunset is particularly memorable, so why not barbecue in the evenings and gather around the alfresco dining area? Our favourite spot is out on the private patio, with complete privacy and comfy furniture. While the kitchen is very small, you'll find plenty of Spanish restaurants and tapas bars on your doorstep. The designs aren’t so inspiring, but it's modern and practical, with everything you need for a relaxing coastal getaway.

This compact studio apartment is just a short stroll from one of the Costa del Sol’s many sandy beaches. While there isn’t a huge amount of space inside, you’ll have a small private balcony to enjoy, and a choice of cafes, restaurants, and bars on the doorstep. At full capacity – with guest three sleeping on the sofa bed – it might be a bit of a squeeze. We think this functional base is best suited to a couple who'll spend their days on the beach or sightseeing and their evenings eating out.

The apartment itself is modern and practical, but it lacks some character. That said, there’s a bright open-plan living room for relaxing and a lovely sea view to admire while you’re preparing a tapas dinner. We think this location makes for a great Costa del Sol base – golf courses, sandy beaches, and well-known beach restaurants are all within easy reach.

Overlooking the first and second holes of a neighbouring golf course, we feel compelled to stress that this villa is way more than a glorified viewing platform. By all means, sit out on the balcony and watch players make their way along the fairway, but if you're not into the sport, why not paddle about in the heated infinity pool, sit back in the Jacuzzi or cook up something tasty on the barbecue instead?

We're happy to tell you that there are plenty more thrills inside, too. In the games room, you'll find a pool table, bar and kitchenette, while the huge kitchen will be appreciated by the culinary gifted. Elsewhere, there are a couple of elegant bathtubs in which you can luxuriate after a long day exploring the local area.

And there is plenty to see around here. The yachts and shops of Puerto Banús marina take less than ten minutes to reach in the car, and there's also a beach there, too. The historical centre of Marbella is a twenty-minute drive as well.

The communal pool and Jacuzzi are welcome additions, though it’s worth noting they’re situated next to the apartment’s private terrace, so this home may not suit those who prefer absolute privacy.
