Just a heads up, there isn't much storage space here, so you may want to pack light. Plus, there isn't an oven here, only a hob – though we think you’ll do most of your eating out at the restaurants on your doorstep.

The upstairs bedroom even has a private balcony, perfect for newlyweds who want some privacy. The communal pool is also sure to be a crowd-pleaser. That said, with the nearest beach only 2km away, you might want to spend most of your time there.

We love the natural light in this space, largely thanks to the spacious private terrace. A terrace of this size is rare for this building and location, so it’s a great find. Bear in mind that two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area, but we think there’s enough room to not feel cramped – especially if you’re just looking for a base with an excellent location from which to explore the city. Expect general city noise, though.

Situated in Malaga's old town, this home's street takes its name from the freshwater wells that provided water to the many convents in the area. Anyway, the location is highlight number one. The second is this apartment's roof terrace (reached via a spiral staircase) with views over the city's rooftops and churches – the perfect spot for cocktails. Inside, we love the open-plan living space with its double-height ceiling, and the Juliet balconies make the area light and bright. You're bound to hear some city noise here, but with such a great address as this, we think it's a small price to pay.

While its central location is impressive, and the bustling street cafes below the apartment are handy, you can inevitably expect some street noise here. It's also worth noting that if six of you share, the last two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge. Not ideal for some, but for a bolthole this central, we think it's a keeper.

Tucked into a quiet street of Malaga’s Perchel Norte neighbourhood, this apartment offers an idyllic retreat for a family or group wanting to immerse themselves in the city’s culture and coastline. This crisp white haven offers a tranquil base to return to after a day of exploring the historical sites and buzzy bars of the city.

We love the living space’s bright and minimalist aesthetic which creates a feeling of total relaxation. Wake up peacefully, and step out onto your private balcony where you can sip coffee and turn the pages of your new read. Our favourite spot is the sleek American-style kitchen, where you can rustle up many a Mediterranean meal to share around the glass dining table. 

Outside, the shared pool draws the eye – on a hot, sunny day, it's exceptionally inviting. There’s plenty of space on the terrace so you can enjoy it whether you’re listening to a podcast in the shade or soaking up every second of sunshine on the loungers. 

If you’re feeling a day soaking up some culture, you’ll find gilded religious artworks at the 15th-century Santo Domingo de Guzman Church and Congregation of Mena Chapel, just a few minutes away on foot. And if a day beachside is what you’re looking for, it’s a ten-minute drive to the vast sands and warm waters of Playa la Malagueta.

Simply White 

Looking for a central Malaga bolthole with some soul? This apartment, boasting knockout historical features alongside contemporary interiors, should do nicely. If four of you share, two guests will sleep on a small double sofa bed in the lounge area, which might only suit some. It's also worth noting the pocket-sized kitchen is better suited to lighter bites. But with countless restaurants and cafes steps away, we can let that slide. Location-wise, take your pick from the sightseeing hotspots and La Malagueta Beach – just a ten-minute stroll away.

La Torre Azul

This practical apartment is located in the heart of Malaga's historic centre, just a stone's throw away from tourist hotspots such as Calle Larios, Plaza de la Constitución, and the Picasso and Thyssen Museums. While it’s not the most characterful pad in our collection, a sofa bed in the living area offers flexible sleeping arrangements, and the Juliet balcony in the main bedroom is a nice touch too. The kitchenette is a little basic for our liking, but given the home’s stellar spot, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby, offering a true taste of Malagan living. 


A Bit of Sunrise

This cosy apartment adorned with vibrant yellow and stone grey furnishings awaits you for a stylish city break to Malaga. Snuggle up on the sofa with your loved ones as you watch a movie on the TV, followed by tucking into a delicious homecooked meal at the circular dining table, washed down with a glass of wine. The kitchen offers direct access to the balcony, allowing you to dine alfresco or indoors – we recommend enjoying a bite out here during the evening hours as the amber glow of the sunset shines upon the building. The master bedroom provides a charming view of the surrounding Spanish architecture as well as the local streets below.

Head outside to explore the city of Malaga, filled to the brim with tasty eateries and bars that serve refreshing cocktails. There are a plethora of museums to visit here, including the Picasso Museum which houses many of his works – perfect for history buffs and art lovers. A short drive takes you to the nearby beach for an afternoon of fun on the sand, it's a fantastic spot for those lovely holiday snaps.
