Sitting pretty just above the Andalusian coastline, this apartment is as contemporary as they come. The design is dominated by clean lines, sleek surfaces and neutral colours, making for a bright and airy space – especially with the copious amount of natural light that streams in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors. Slide these open and you're greeted by a large private terrace complete with loungers and an alfresco dining table.

Where this address really stands out, however, is with the huge amount of communal amenities available for guests. These include a pair of swimming pools – one heated, one not – plus a gym and hot tub inside. Up on the rooftop, you'll find a huge terrace with a bar and gorgeous views of the Mediterranean Sea. Little ones aren't left out either, as there's a covered soft play area that's sure to keep them entertained.

Although there's more than enough to keep you occupied within the building, you can also get to the inviting sands of Playa del Ejido in under a quarter of an hour on foot, passing the Moorish fortress, Castillo Sohail, on the way. The centre of Fuengirola is just over five minutes away in the back of 
a taxi and offers plenty of restaurants, shops and amusement parks.

There’s a private Jacuzzi to relax in, and you can look forward to wonderful sea views. The terrace is also a great spot for pre-dinner cocktails while you watch the sunset. You’ll also have access to a communal swimming pool. The apartment is sleek and stylish, with everything you might need for a comfortable family break.

Just a short walk from Fuengirola's town centre and beaches, this villa is an ideal spot for families looking to explore the Malaga coastline and make the most of the regular sunny weather. With stunning sea views, the home features a small private plunge pool and a balcony terrace where guests can sunbathe and enjoy alfresco meals rustled up on the barbecue. It's also worth noting that some street noise should be expected, however, the small street-facing balcony is a nice touch here for early-evening drinks and watching the beachgoers return home.

Just a stone's throw away from El Higueron Beach, this conveniently located apartment puts you within proximity of the town centre's shops and restaurants too. Yet, the views alone make the apartment truly stand out. The panorama at sunset is particularly memorable, so why not barbecue in the evenings and gather around the alfresco dining area? Up on the communal rooftop, you'll also have access to a unique swimming pool and sun terrace shared with other guests on-site. With air conditioning, you can take advantage of sleeping in comfortable temperatures during the summer. However, it's worth bearing in mind at full capacity, two members of the group will be sleeping on the double sofa bed in the living area.

This compact studio apartment is just a short stroll from one of the Costa del Sol’s many sandy beaches. While there isn’t a huge amount of space inside, you’ll have a small private balcony to enjoy, and a choice of cafes, restaurants, and bars on the doorstep. At full capacity – with guest three sleeping on the sofa bed – it might be a bit of a squeeze. We think this functional base is best suited to a couple who'll spend their days on the beach or sightseeing and their evenings eating out.

Open the sliding doors and let the sun and sea air in as you gather on the dining terrace for breakfast. The communal pool and gardens may be the main attractions at this coastal apartment, although the highlight for us is definitely the large balcony. The apartment itself is modern and practical, but it lacks some character. That said, there’s a bright open-plan living room for relaxing and a lovely sea view to admire while you’re preparing a tapas dinner. We think this location makes for a great Costa del Sol base – golf courses, sandy beaches, and well-known beach restaurants are all within easy reach.

Just a short walk (150m) from the beach, this practical pad is a great fit for families and small groups. The apartment is bright and modern with doors leading out to a lovely balcony offering beautiful views of Fuengirola and the surrounding Mijas mountains. You'll also have shared access to the swimming pool, outdoor gym, and children's play area, making it ideal for relaxing days at home. It's also worth noting that while the apartment can sleep up to five, three people will be sleeping on a bunk bed in the second bedroom which is only suitable for younger children.

As it's in an apartment complex, it's likely you'll hear and see your neighbours – you may want to bring earplugs if you sleep lightly.

Outside, soak it all in from the private terrace or while relaxing in the open-plan living space. From here, the nearest restaurants are a short stroll away, while the close proximity to the Carvajal train station means easy access to Fuengirola and Málaga.

While the design isn't the most exciting, we like how light each room is, and there's a decent amount of space for four. You'll also have access to the communal gym and on-site swimming pool, shared with other guests.

Set between Fuengirola and Benalmadena, this apartment offers a range of restaurants and shops on its doorstep, while also being just a short drive from the sands of Playa de Carvajal. Guests will have their own terrace to enjoy, perfect for dining alfresco while admiring the sea views, as well as a private hot tub for soaking under the stars. The designs may be minimal, albeit a little dated, but the apartment is practical for a stay along Spain's Costa del Sol. Additionally, with sports clubs, beach bars, and an 8km-long promenade nearby, this location is perfect for exploring the region.

Overlooking the first and second holes of a neighbouring golf course, we feel compelled to stress that this villa is way more than a glorified viewing platform. By all means, sit out on the balcony and watch players make their way along the fairway, but if you're not into the sport, why not paddle about in the heated infinity pool, sit back in the Jacuzzi or cook up something tasty on the barbecue instead?

We're happy to tell you that there are plenty more thrills inside, too. In the games room, you'll find a pool table, bar and kitchenette, while the huge kitchen will be appreciated by the culinary gifted. Elsewhere, there are a couple of elegant bathtubs in which you can luxuriate after a long day exploring the local area.

And there is plenty to see around here. The yachts and shops of Puerto Banús marina take less than ten minutes to reach in the car, and there's also a beach there, too. The historical centre of Marbella is a twenty-minute drive as well.
